    Pork Gyoza pan fried
    Lujuana W.

First let me start by saying someone recommended this place to me so I thought I would give it a try. I noticed when I arrived that there were people waiting outside but I was seated rather quickly since I was alone. They did a quick clean on the table that was still pretty wet when I was seated and smelled like fabulouso. I ordered the pork Gyoza pan fried to start and it took awhile to come out. The presentation was beautiful but they were extremely cold. The waitress said she didn't see them up there ready and asked if I wanted them remade and I agreed. When they arrived back to the table I noticed that it was actually the same plate of Gyoza that I sent back with one missing. All they did was slightly warm them back up but the middle was still cold! I then ordered the spicy miso ramen with pork and added chicken. The broth was pretty good but they forgot my chicken. When the chicken was brought to me it was cold also. At this point I was ready to just be done and leave the restaurant. I waited 30 min while watching the waitress serve everyone around me but not coming to my table. Again I started smelling fabulouso and seen that indeed the tables were being cleaned with it and that alone gave me such a headache. The waitress blamed it on someone calling off today but this was just unbelievable. I doubt that I will be back.

The place is cute and cozy tucked away behind another japanese restaurant- Parking a little challenging since the area has quite few restaurants. The staff are kind, friendly and helpful. We order the one was recommended and they were pretty good. The garlic pork rice bowl pretty decent portion and they are so tasteful. We closed up our Friday night dinner with Free Strawberry Ice cream

We Love this Ramen place. The flavors are delicious and never had any problem with servers. We get seated right away and even when we are waiting, it takes no more than 20-30 minutes. My children love this place also and always ask to come back for more. Prices are great but I do with they add more toppings to the ramen.

Ramen = 3/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance= 5/5 This was my first experience here. I want to give recognition to the solo server. She handled orders, served, and lightly cleaned the restaurant as she went. Service and restaurant ambience and cleanliness was a solid 5/5 here. I tipped for this alone. The ramen, however, while quite delicious overall, I found the broth to be a bit lacking in flavor... but everything from the egg to the meat, even the bamboo (which I don't normally take into account) was quite delicious all things considered... hence the odd 3.5 rating. Perhaps I'll order with add-ons next time to raise the broth flavor to my liking. Overall a 4.3 out of 5. Would definitely come back if I'm ever in the neighborhood again.

I saw that Ramenkoko was top 100 ramen place on Yelp. It happens to be in Highland near my in laws. I had to give it a try. I ordered online. They open right at 5 p.m. The earliest pick up time was 5:15p.m. At 4:57pm there was already one person waiting for it to open. They opened at 5:01 p.m. He said that my order should be right up. It took about 10 minutes. I got the spicy tonkatsu. It was so good! It definitely had a kick but not too bad. The soup was rich. Her was a good amount of pork belly. I added the 2 eggs and I'm glad I did. I would definitely get this again.

We came here Friday 02/07/25 around 5:30pm and it was already a full house with dine in and orders pick up. There were 2 kitchen workers and 1 waiter. The waiter was by himself doing dine in, order pick up and taking phone orders. It was overwhelming but not once did he showed it. We sat down 20 minutes later and didn't place an order 30-35 minutes after seating. Took about another 25 minutes to get our food, appetizers and ramen came at the same time. The owner came around that time and he was on the move! Getting orders out asap. Besides the wait time the food is always fire. Next time I'll come 2-3 hours after evening opening.

Forgot and left me on hold for over 15 minutes...

I wanted to like this place, but multiple issues. I ordered to-go tonight with a pickup at 7pm, they didn't have my food ready until 7:15pm. Then I drove home to find that my daughter's broth was missing. I tried to call and I've been waiting on hold for over 15 minutes... So now it's late, I can't get a hold of anyone and I'm sitting with an order of kids noodles without broth. I'll pass on this place moving forward considering I wasted $15 and can't even get help for a refund.

    Will this restaurant reopen?

Yes! we definitely will! We have closed for a staff vacation and will be back on the 23rd of August. Thank you! 🙂

What are the noodles made of? Any Rice Noodle options? My gf has a gluten (wheat) sensitivity.

Hi Patrick. Unfortunately, at this moment we don’t offer gluten free noodles, but we are definitely looking into having gluten free options in the future. Thanks for checking us out!

All the surrounding tables I guess is only for Ramen and non grilling food items as they dont have a grill in them. It was hectic and chaotic in here. Watching the 2 waitresses not only handling the food orders at the tables, but also making drinks, taking orders, bringing the food out, handling the front desk, to clearing the tables. Real props to them for still providing excellent customer service with each of their tables. Their food comes out fast, and they all tasted amazing. And their drinks too look visually stunning and tasted great. We ordered the following foods and drink: 1. Gyu set- comes with several meats that you cook on the fire. High quality. Great taste. Extremely tender and flavorful. 2. Short ribs- they were so good we had to get another order of them. 3. Sushi taco- 3 different types of seafood. Tasted really good, ended.up getting 2 orders of them. 4. Spicy tuna crispy wanton- lots of spicy tuna. Love the flavors. The crunch of the taco was really good. 5. Chicken karaage- crispy and tender. The sauce it came with was so good. 6. Tempura shrimp- 3 peices only. It was ok. A great appetizer to start with. 7. Spicy pork bao- bao bun was amazing. Pork was soft and tender. Good ratio of meat to bao. 8. Smoked brisket bao- not as good as the spicy pork. But was still really good. 9. Hand roll was also really good. Drinks: 1. White peach sake sangria- this drink was so light and refreshing. Definitely hit me by the time I finished it though. 2. Yuzu pineapple express- our favorite drink by far. Very pineapple forward. Sweet, tart and refreshing. 3. Tokyo tea- the midori made it look so pretty. The taste itself was very good as well. 4. Rising sun- Japanese whiskey. It was very whiskey forward, but it was also very smooth. I love how they had a little bit of everything here. Pork, chicken, raw fish, sushi, bbq, bao buns, Ramen, a whole bunch of different appetizers. Everything that we tried was really good, and put a smile of happiness on our face as we took a bite and tried them. There's a little bit of everything for everyone here. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. It was not cheap. Every little thing added up. But we did order a lot of food and drinks. But everything was really good. Would definitely come back again!!

Squeeze of lemon gives it a pop of flavor and brings down the heat. I also had the ramen, not the tonkatsu or the miso, I forgot the name. But it's one of the 3 most popular ramen. Clear broth. It was fantastic! The broth was delicious, the noodles were soft and tasty, I hadn't tasted noodles like that before. I ordered pork as my protein and honestly, that elevated the already delicious dish. The pork was charred, either by intention or accident but it transformed the ramen. Most other ramen shops have boiled pork, this had a great char that changed the flavor of the pork and ramen. The price is reasonable and I would come back here. The service was excellent as well. Everyone was very attentive, and gave you space as well. They gave suggestions and brought out the spice tray to add as much as you'd like. The Serrano chili salsa in there was delicious. The ambience reminds me of Japan. Wooden chairs and table, very reminiscent of some of the ramen shops in Japan. The place looked clean, even if the exterior looked a tad bit questionable. But that's the great thing about socal eateries. You never know what hidden gem you'll find. Overall, I would return and I would recommend.

We were looking for a new place to try, so I ended up finding Osaka House through reviews and it did not disappoint! The only thing that disappointed was that the restaurant had no affiliation to Osaka, Japan. We loved visiting Osaka and were looking forward to practice our broken Japanese lol. We ordered a Dragon Roll for the table, I ordered the Volcano Ramen because I love spicy, the hubby ordered the Eel Avocado Hand Roll and Beef Ramen, my MIL ordered the Miso Ramen. We also ordered a bottle of the plum wine which was delicious! My hubby still raves about that hand roll and we all really enjoyed our ramen choices on that rainy day. All in all, we would totally recommend Osaka House! The food has very good flavor, is reasonably priced and the ambiance was really nice. The sear was perfect, and the green onion topping and sauce, along with the small slice portions made this easy and fun to eat. Definitely try this in your first round! 5/5 - Shooting Star (front) - Very savory and delicious! If you like the cajun flavor with the spicy aioli sauce, this won't disappoint. The crunch from the tempura shrimp with the texture profile of the crab and rice makes this a very satisfying roll! 5/5 - Carpaccio - This was actually one of the best carpaccio dishes I had gotten, and I think it is due to the seasoning. You only get one order per person which is typical of other AYCE sushi places, but definitely something to savor! 5/5 - Bluefin Tuna - This is limited to one order per customer, but it was the first time I had eaten a bluefin tuna at an AYCE restaurant that tasted like bluefin tuna from Japan. This is more toro than chutoro/otoro, however it did have that distinct bluefin tuna taste. Impressed! 4/5 - Dynamite - Interesting baked roll dish. Served under a small flame that dies out, it was a very savory, easy-to-eat dish with chopsticks. However, it felt a bit overcooked by the end of the flame, which understandably can be hit-or-miss. Definitely try it out, as this kind of dish is typically rare in AYCE restaurants. 5/5 - Del Rosa and East Highland - These are both the same No Rice Roll just with different wraps. The fish serving was generous and we were impressed! The sauce complemented both perfectly. 4/5 - X-Girlfriend and X-Boyfriend - Pretty much the same No Rice Roll but with different fish. Kind of tastes the same from the other No Rice Rolls so I would just get one order to try it out. 3/5 - O.M.G., Pizza, and SBD Hill - About the same flavor profile with the creamy sauce with the seafood that is placed on top of California rolls. You can probably do with just one of these rolls whichever appeals to you. Of course, it is not exactly the same, but we didn't really care to figure out which was which as we were eating it. 2/5 - Flying Dragon - Was not particularly impressed with this dish. There was a lot of rice served for a thin slice of eel and white fish. The sliced onion was OK, and it did not seem to complement the dish significantly. It seemed more like a separate item placed on top of the roll. 3/5 - Cajun Tuna Nigiri - Decent tuna nigiri. I thought the slices were very thin, so the sear actually went through the whole fish rather than just at the surface which would have made a two-texture profile bite. However, it just seemed dry due to the seared thin slice. 3/5 - Cajun Salmon Nigiri - Same issue with the cajun tuna nigiri. It was seasoned well with the cajun, but the thin slice of the salmon made the sear more of a "cook" rather than a seared surface. 4/5 - Regular Salmon Nigiri - Typical salmon nigiri flavor with regular portion of rice. I think it is beaten out my other AYCE sushi restaurants that are generous with their fish portion and provide minimal rice. 1/5 - Shrimp Boat - This dish was very disappointing. While it is advertised as shrimp with crab meat, our whole group found that it was an overwhelming amount of crab meat and could barely pick out the shrimp. Difficult to finish especially in the 2nd half of our meal. Granted due to being a tempura roll, it was served later. 1/5 - Lobster Ball - This dish was also disappointing. While it is advertised as lobster with crab meat, we barely found a difference between this and the shrimp boat aside from shape. Even with the pictures, the size was larger than we expected. Difficult to finish especially in the 2nd half of our meal. Granted due to being a tempura roll, it was served later. 3/5 - Calamari - Huge portions but could have been salted more. Good crunch but I would hesitate on finishing this portion because you might get full! 3/5 - Shrimp Tempura - We ordered 4 orders of this and only received one order (2 pieces). Decent fry and could also be salted a bit more.
