If the answer is Move King, LLC....RUN. I got ripped off, big time. I was completely taken advantage of and my valuables showed up shattered beyond repair. To this day, they refuse to take accountability. I've moved over 15 times in my life. I've worked with reputable movers and shady ones, but NOTHING comes close to the absolute trainwreck that is TopTier Moving (a name so ironic it's almost offensive). They quoted me about $3,600 for my move. Reasonable. But when the movers actually showed up, Move King, LLC, TopTier's third-party vendor that they never warned me about, they immediately told me the job would cost me an additional $3,000. No discussion. No explanation. Just a bait-and-switch right at my front door. Let that sink in: before a single item was moved, I was already being held hostage for $3,000 more than I agreed to. And it only got worse from there. My TopTier "point of contact," who was really just the sales guy who convinced me they were a reputable company, ghosted me immediately after my initial payments were processed. He never once answered a call or email after I paid. Move King tacked on ridiculous charges like $300 because the hallway in my building was "too long." That's not a joke...they literally charged me by the foot to walk. Every step they took seemed to cost me more money. I ended up paying over $7,000, nearly double the original quote. And what did I get for it? A shattered ( and brand-new) $1,300 Google TV, broken in transit despite paying top dollar for boxes and "protective wrapping." So much for professional care. I had to take the time to write this because companies like this should be shut down. I've never experienced a company so unethical in my life and I hope this doesn't happen to you.

The front office worked with me to accommodate our moving date which was great and said someone would come out to do an estimate, gave me a general time frame for their arrival, and said they would call when they were on their way. As a mom with a 9 month old who has a nap schedule and a dog who barks at everyone who walks past our door, this is extremely important to me. The guy arrived without calling and I had to rush to get the dog out on his lead before he woke up my daughter. He took about 15 minutes to do the estimate, said we'd need one truck with 3 guys and overshot on the time which I expected so no biggie there. Moving day arrives; the crew had loaded maybe 3 rooms (out of 8) and kept saying they were going to need another truck multiple times to the point where my husband and I said screw it, take only the large furniture and heavy boxes and we'll move the rest on our own. 2 of the workers busted their butts while one sort of just organized the truck and then one of the guys busting his butt and the organizer bickered most of the afternoon. The third guy even came and apologized to me and my husband for having to listen to it! A chandelier was broken during the process and no offer from the company to repay us for us or anything. Then the icing on the cake was the foreman did our bill, I had a debit card and he said I had to call the office to do it and I did, at 330 in the afternoon, and the lady who does the payments had left for the day! What?! So in all the craziness of moving I couldn't remember where I had our checkbook and thought I left it at the old house. The office said I could drop it off by 5pm and the foreman said no worries we'll go to the old house with you and we'll bring the check, no extra charge for the time. Only halfway there I realized where it was and had to just stop at the bank and withdraw cash. My husband was in a separate vehicle and got there before me and told them that I had to make a stop. When I got to the old house (which was 20 minutes after my husband and I spoke so he had communicated with them that I had to stop) the foreman was on the phone asking if he should run the clock. Why did you offer to do it at no cost then try to call and ask your boss if you should run the clock? Makes no sense. All in all, it wasn't an awful experience but not worth 5 stars to me and I likely wouldn't recommend them to friends or family.

Updating my review after poor experience with the owner, Joe. The two guys that helped me pack were…read morevery professional and courteous and despite the problems I encountered when I unpacked my furniture I would hire these two again if it were not for Joe. When my pod arrived at my destination, multiple pieces were damaged (see pictures). I provided 24 moving blankets for a small 1 bedroom apartment, which I estimated based on google search recommendations. I'm not the expert, their company is. All blankets were used but there were no indications from the two guys that they needed more. I also provided bubble wrap and plastic wrap, of which there were plenty extra, and moving straps, which Joe recommended I buy, but the guys did not use. The guys wrapped up things outside where I could not directly supervise, but I figured they were the experts. Damaged items: A side table was scratched up on sides and top and this piece had not been wrapped in moving blankets - this was placed in the middle of the pod well before they could have possibly run out of moving blankets. Even if they had run out, they could have used bubble wrap. The drawer knob on the front of this piece was also missing but I found I rolling in the pod. A dining chair had a very large, 4 inch chunk out of the leg, extending about 1/3 the width of the leg. Many scratches on legs of furniture, none of which were wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap. I called Joe to discuss the damaged items and he asked me to send him pictures, which I did. He did not respond for about a month, so I texted again. Still no response after a week so I called him and left a message to which he called back a few days later. This conversation was entirely unproductive and he refused to accept that his company could have been responsible for the damage. He said that "this many issues is unheard of." I mainly focused on the 2 most damaged items, which is not an "unheard of" amount. He also said the 4 inch chunk was "just a scratch." He blamed it first on the moving company that unpacked me and when I pointed out that one piece wasn't even wrapped, then blamed it on me not providing enough moving blankets. To which I responded that his guys never came to me with this issue and that I would have been more than happy to go out and buy more or give them blankets from my apartment. His response was that his guys ALWAYS tell the customer if they need additional things...but they did not tell me. By this point, I really was not expecting any sort of insurance claim based on prior poor reviews of his company. I wanted to express my disappointment that his guys did not come to me if they needed additional materials and that they should have utilized plastic or bubble wrap on the legs of furniture. I thought that as the owner of his company, he would acknowledge my feedback, however he refused to accept that his guys could have been responsible for any damage. Everything he said was an excuse. I would have appreciated a simple "I'm sorry that your items were damaged and I will speak with my guys about ensuring they communicate with the customer if they need more materials." Instead Joe made it seem like my interpretation of the situation were not true and that it was my fault my items were damaged. I highly recommend not using this company solely because of the owner, but if you do use this company, please directly supervise the people who pack your items and check in repeatedly if they need additional materials.

Super bummed about this one…read more Friendly guys--installed a 2nd story, stacked washing machine for us. I know it was an awkward, heavy job, and the layout of our house wasn't making anything easier. However, the company left large scratches in our wood floor finish. There wasn't any protection uses when pulling the old stacked unit out for replacement. They suggested we could buff the scratches out. This is not accurate... the finish is scraped off. If we buff it out, we'll just lose more finish. The big issue comes next. We ran the washing machine, since we had a lot of laundry piled up. When the cycle drained, the water started pouring out of our living room ceiling--the drain hose hadn't been connected properly or got disconnected during the install. Lastly, we had a Flood Stop mechanism attached to our old washer to prevent this exact issue from happening. During the install, one of the wires to the old Flood Stop was broken, rendering it useless. (A new Flood Stop is $286 on Amazon, for reference). The company hasn't been very interested in helping us out. We're really frustrated and hope that they can work with us to make this situation whole again. We need to repaint parts of the living room that had the paint balloon up with water, hope the water that came under the floor and out the ceiling doesn't lead to any long term issues, and replace our Flood Stop. They were done unloading quickly - maybe four hours? And they were super friendly.
