We purchased a home with our first pool and was told by the Home Inspector that the pool equipment…read morewas old and will need to be replaced soon. After a few months, our single speed pump broke at the same time as the Heater. We used our Home Warranty to have it fixed. The company that the Warranty company used was awful. After a few weeks of broken equipment and no pool circulation we decided to just replace all the equipment as recommended. We called Leslies Pool Supply to get a quote. In-store, they gave us a quote for equipment and install and then scheduled a consult to verify the equipment that was needed. When someone called to confirm the appointment, they notified us of a charge just come out to look at our equipment. This was not explained to us in the store which was frustrating enough to look elsewhere. I found "Keep It Clean Pool Services" on a Yelp search. I called 5 different companies and Keep It Clean Pool Services was the only one who answered. I got a call back from 3/5 companies several days later. Keep It Clean Pool Services came out SAME DAY to take a look at our system and recommend upgrades. Within a week, we were up and running with all new equipment, and we even had them add Automation and LED colored lights to our Pool/Spa. Jim & Greg (Brothers) were fast, efficient, friendly, and reliable. Also, their prices were 25% less than leslies pool and they were 100% worth every penny. My husband just started the Hot Tub from his phone as he is leaving work!

The team does great work. And never miss a scheduled maintenance day. My pool is old and looks…read moregreat. They have been maintaining it for a little under a year now and it is in great condition. Not the cheapest, but I used to pay less for other options and had to deal with all sorts of drama. So I'll take the tradeoff for quality.

Vinyl pool owners, beware! I had a horrible experience with…read moreGolden State Pool Service that has prompted me to take legal action. After a routine service visit to my vinyl pool, the pool began losing water rapidly and dropped to less than halfway full within days. A Vinyl Pool Repair company later identified a large puncture in the liner and advised the damage appeared consistent with blunt force. It is in the very bottom corner of the pool on the 8ft side, somewhere a 5 year old child couldn't reach. I checked camera footage to see their technician using his tool in an up and down motion as if he's spearfishing in my pool. Days later - the water dropped less than halfway. Other red flags - they removed my existing vacuum and replaced with a different one without my knowledge or permission. This specific vacuum was not recommended for vinyl from the vinyl EXPERTS that I consulted with. Furthermore, they also charged me on a random day for some type of "annual fee" without disclosing that upfront. Lastly, the last service visit we had (on a rainy day - no clue why the guy still showed up), the employee went behind the camera area and stood under my sundeck on his phone. Is that what you're getting paid for? Service visits under 10 minutes while you stand around. There were multiple red flags I ignored and excused but the damage to the pool was the last straw. Despite the timing of the incident, the severity of the water loss, camera footage, and the findings from ABCO, Golden State declined to take responsibility for the damage or assist with replacement costs. As expected: they responded to dodge accountability by saying the vinyl was in brittle condition - this still doesn't change the fact that you punctured my pool. See you in court.

Find someone else. I would be embarrassed and ashamed to associate myself with this company. There…read moreis no communication. They didn't come for an entire month, and when I finally reached out to them, they offered me 2 weeks of service free. What? No; you did not provide a service for 4 weeks, so I will not be paying you for 4 weeks. Last week the technician came a day early without telling me, and left a "sorry we missed you" note. Would have been nice to know BEFORE I left the house, so I could have prepared for you. When I emailed about it, they responded saying "Oh yeah, he called and said he needed tomorrow off so hecame today. Do you want us to try in 2 days?" Were you just not going to show up that week then and not tell me? Come on, people. I continued to pay for when they did actually come, even though they try to skew my invoice every week. However, once again, this month my pool has been filthy even when they claim the technician did show up. I'm cancelling my "service" with them. Today their technician even left my gate lock thrown onto the driveway. It's pathetic, and they need to not be in service. Update in response to Sven: No, the remainder of my pool was also covered in algae and black mold. A company came after I cancelled with you and tested to see that there was zero chlorine/salt in our pool. The technician did not come every week. I never even received a response to my cancellation request. A confirmation of some sort would have been professional. When the technician came a day early, you should have told me as soon as you found out, and his note said that he would rerun the following week, thus just skipping that entire week. Not like that would have been anything new. Just communicate with your customers, do your job, and maybe find some way to log and prove when and where your technicians go. Take some accountability.

I don't understand the negative reviews here. We switched to SD Poolworks based on interviewing…read moreSven. During that interview, he diagnosed several areas where our prior pool company had been short-changing us. We have a salt water pool, and the other company had let the salt level get so low that it wasn't functioning as a salt water pool. They were using chlorine instead, because that's easier to maintain (i.e., it seems they were being lazy and hoping we wouldn't notice). Sven fixed this, and our pool has been much nicer since (~3 months in). Sven is less expensive, more communicative, and better to work with than our old service. Most of the negative reviews seems to stem from billing issues. We put it on autopay, and everything just works
