Our pool pump was fitted with a rebuilt motor shortly after purchase eleven years ago. In the last…read morefew months the motor began making more and more noise; it was clear that the motor would need replacement soon. Our electric bill was increasing each month as well. A search of the Internet made the case for a variable speed/variable flow pool pump, so we went to Yelp.com to find a highly recommended pool professional. After we got three proposals from high rated Yelp pool pros, I called one more - Freestyle Pools - and was introduced to Nick. Nick completely explained our options and provided us with a written proposal within minutes. We liked his prices and called him to see when he could install. He said he had the pump in stock and could install it that afternoon and haul away the old equipment. A lot of firms send a tech; I especially liked it that Nick would do the work himself. As promised, Nick arrived on time and surveyed the pool equipment. I suspected that there might be a need to upgrade more than the pump. The cramped way our pool equipment had been arranged left no room to install the new pump securely (see the BEFORE PICTURES with pool piping on a cinder block and the motor hanging off the slab). Nick would need to relocate the pool filter to the rear of the slab for the pump to line up on the concrete, and after some discussion I asked about a new one. Nick said if I bought a pump, filter and chlorine generator, Pentair would extend their warranty for all three pieces for (3) years. It made sense. Nick arrived at our home at 2:15PM, and - not counting a quick trip for parts - worked continuously until 7:30PM. If you look at the AFTER pictures, you'll see that Nick truly is an artist! He managed to line up the new pump on the concrete, facilitated by a new filter taking up less space to the rear, and the new configuration works like a champ, doesn't leak a drop, and is very quiet. I like watching someone work who know what he is doing, and Nick certainly knows pool equipment and operations! We were so impressed by Freestyle Pools that we even decided to try Freestyle as our weekly pool maintenance choice, leaving a pool service we have been using for a number of years! We are not folks given to whimsical changes, but our change was demanded by Nick's outstanding efforts to go "above and beyond" to satisfy our pool needs. We certainly are proud to recommend Freestyle!!

Not being his clients yet he said if this doesn't work then call your warranty company because your filter may not be working but it was hard to tell at that point with the amount of algae. His recommendation was on point the warranty provided a contractor to replace our filter unit although we had to drain our pool because the water was beyond recoverable. We call Fernando right away and hired him and our pool water has been nice and clean for five years. Everyone with sensitive skin loves our pool because it doesn't have excessive chemicals. My husband has recommend him and his friends are happy to have found Fernando. He recently replaced a part on our filter unit that broke and he just charged for the part. Fernando is very prompt, knowledgeable, professional and HONEST. On the initial consultation, he came to my home to do a walkthrough of the pool area. He carefully listened to what our concerns were with our previous pool service, what our expectations were, and was open to future projects such as re-doing the deco sealing around the pool area, resurfacing, etc. His prices are very reasonable. Also, if he can't do the work, he's like the Priceline negotiator...he knows a guy because of the company's affiliation with IPSSA. Back to honesty, after we talked, I asked him about the Monica M review from 2014. He was very honest with me; he said that he reflected back and checked his records of current and past customers in Chula Vista named Monica...he came up empty handed. Also the $125.00 figure for monthly pool service is FALSE. Would like to see the video you have Monica M...just saying... We fired our former pool guy and hired Fernando and I am very glad that we did. Our pool literally sparkles when he services it. He actually cleans vacuums the pool - something that was a foreign concept to the last guy we had as all he did was spend 5-to-10 minutes swishing the sides of the pool, testing the chemicals and calling it good. It was like pulling teeth to ask him questions and get anything other than that done. This is NOT the case with Fernando and Three Amigos. Last he likes our dogs and they like him. Fernando brings dog treats with him on his weekly service calls just like he did on our initial consultation. The dogs don't bark at him at all. Our dogs couldn't stand the last pool guy we had; they barked incessantly until he left. I couldn't be happier with the service that we have received from Fernando and Three Amigos!

He's the type of guy that makes sure that everything is done perfectly, not half-assed. I really appreciate that. We want a spa that works well, and he made sure of that.
