*** UPDATE ***. 4/4/17
STAY FAR AWAY. I could not believe what happened tonight as far as horrendously rude behavior by the owner's son and in the meal I received.
I ordered two bacon cheeseburgers. On mine, I added grilled onions. I made sure they didn't put any of the lettuce or pickles or tomatoes or other stuff on my son's. Just plain - burger, cheese, and bacon. I remembered that the burgers come with 1000 Island dressing, and was unsure if my son would eat it that way, so I asked if the Thousand Island could be on the side. No! We don't do that! 50 Cents. (that was the rude old Asian man owns the place - wife was not there) But I'm not asking for extra. And I just saved you all the vegetable costs. No! Okay. Well, never mind. He probably wouldn't want it anyway. I'll just put ketchup on it. Oh, also got some onion rings. All to go.
Remembering I probably didn't have any ketchup at home, I grabbed two tiny thumbnail-sized containers they provide for ketchup, Sriracha, and some Mexican sauce they offer outside. I filled up two tiny condiment containers with ketchup, figuring with their "50 Cents" extra signs (for everything from sauces to drink refills, etc.) that fill up their order and pick up windows, they would not be offering any ketchup or anything else.
Well! The nerve of me, the customer. The son grabs the ketchup bottle and hides it inside their cooking booth, so now no one can have any. Can you F'n imagine?! He also realizes he has tossed some ketchup in my bag, so he reopens my bag and pulls out all the takeout ketchup packets he just tossed in. That'll show me! Who do I think I am? A paying, reviewing customer?! Well F me! I asked for the ketchup, and he looks at me with furious anger and says, "Isn't what you took ketchup?! That's not ketchup?! That's not ketchup?!!!!" Seeing he was mentally unstable, I lied and said it wasn't (since they have two other sauces - but only for people eating at their filthy outdoor tables), so he threw some back in. Unbelievable. If they treat their customers this shabbily, can you imagine how they treat their cooks? Cause, yeah, a couple years ago, Dad was cooking and Mom took the orders. Now they have a bunch of cooks, Dad takes orders, and angry Son yells at the customers.
Anyway, when I got home, I was eating my burger (which tasted fine), when I hit a large patch in the middle with NO MEAT. SERIOUSLY! There was a large hole in the center of the buns which was just grilled onions, lettuce, and their tomato/relish mix. Around it was meat. But in the center, a large empty space. So, they're cheap. They're rude. And, now they're ripping off customers. Never going back. Stay away for real, for real!
5/29/15 - REVIEW 5 STARS
Looks like a grubby corner joint you'd just drive by and never stop at. Don't be misled. This is a Mom and Pop shop owned by a very friendly Japanese couple, and boy do they make some great burgers. The people who have complimented the quality of the beef are dead on. The beef is as good as any fancy burger joint if not better. The burger are huge. I'm glad I didn't order a double burger. I would have been done halfway through. They also don't skimp on the bacon. So much good bacon. And the bun is buttered and toasted to a crisp. Drooool* so good!
Tried the regular fries and chili cheese fries. I got a small Chili Cheese Fries and could only eat about half. The portion was huge. The chili was excellent. A chili burger is definitely in my future.
Keep in mind, there is just a few tables of outdoor seating. They do take Visa/MC. They offer drink refills for 25 cents (nice). Food is terrific. Go! read more
