This grocery has tons of stuff from a variety of Asian cultures as well as some Latino foods. I love the variety.

I was sad to see the SuperGrand sign come down, and quickly figured out the place had a new owner. After going back several times, I can see all the changes the new owner has done. The produce quality has improved, as well as the selection. The seafood section now has a frozen section with seafood for sushi. Rice is organized in one whole aisle. The aisles are more organized. The lighting is better. The little kiosks filled with things nobody buys are gone. Overall, a must place to go if you are looking for quality exotic produce and foreign food products. read more

Great selection...employees are great...Cashier manager's level of service is Detestable. Every time I come to this store she is rude...as though she is doing me a favor. Just because you occupany a large portion of the "International grocery" market (economical) in this area does not mean you need to act arrogantly. Today I watched her shrug off this lady when she needed help. After reading the other reviews it is evident that by nature she is very nasty. I shopped there today and they do not allow customers to use their debit card they way it was intended. Their machine at the register does not allow you to scan or swipe your card for a credit purchase. They make you manually enter your credit card number on the pad. Huh? I explained to them that this is not right and I have never been asked to do this ANYWHERE and it defeats the purpose of the chip and makes your customers vulnerable to fraud. They told me I did not have to shop there. Absolutely right! I will never return to this store because their practices are shady. I don't know if what they are doing is legal but intend to find out. read more

My biggest challenge living in the DC area is to find a good Asian grocery store nearby me. Even though it's over 10 miles to get here, it is the closest one to me. Having been in great Asian grocery stores in the U.S. while in California or Hawaii, places in the DC area are good, but a lot more expensive. This place is no exception. Other than the prices, it had most of my needs. It's not the most modern place and has that typical pungent smell when you first walk in. But it had my two most important needs: large selection of fresh seafood and Kim Chee. Yup, I will return. read more

Yesterday, 4/4/2020 I shopped at Super Best International market. Among my purchases I bought a coconut. I decided to used the coconut this morning and when opened, the coconut was bad on the inside. I returned to the store and asked a young man of Asian decent, named Frances, if I can purchase another coconut however, I'd like to have it cracked open to check so that I would not have to return. He claimed that he was the manager. His attitude was very appalling. He told me that the other coconuts were probably bad; they don't 'pull' them until seven days; I'd have to pay for the coconut and open it myself outside; that he cannot ask the guys who work there to open it; that I can return the one purchased yesterday. I left the store, went home to get the coconut I purchased yesterday with my receipt and returned it. I would never shop there again. I eventually was able to find good coconut of a wide selection at a nearby MegaMart. The young man there opened both coconuts to show me that they were good. I would recommend shopping at MegaMart to my friends and family. If I could, I would give Super Best international market zero stars. Frances need customer service training and how to talk to the frontline employees. read more

One of the first international grocery stores I discovered when I moved up here. I was so excited I spent more than I intended bc I was enjoying seeing all the ingredients I use . I haven't tried their seafood or meat department yet but when I'm back in Laurel I will definitely shop here only. read more

super best has absolutely everything I've ever wanted in an international food market. Being of West Indian descent I've grown up perusing the isles of many fabulous international markets but as an adult I find they've unfortunately died out so finding Super Best was a delightful surprise. they have an amazing Variety of foods including Asian African Caribbean and even American treats as well as a great fresh fish / seafood market. Prices are amazingly affordable and outside there's even are Amazon parcel lockers. not the best location which explains my 4 out of 5 rating however I'll def make Super best one of my top grocery shopping spots read more

Wow! Clean and very large supermarket with a very wide selection of Asian, African and latino products. Size of your typical american chain store but with fresh fish, huge produce selection and exotic foods. Drumsticks $0.39 lb! I don't think I have ever seem meat this cheap. read more

This store lack what its called customer service and ripping off people, I bought a piece of yam there today and half the yam is bad, I returned to the store drove about 8 miles and they wont refund the full price of the yam, first the yam was so expensive ($15.40) they only refund $4.49. I called the manager to explain to her and they called the in store police at me that I was making trouble. I will not shop at this store ever again. read more

There is a variety of international foods. About 20% of the time the food is bad (kale infested with bug bits; pineapple or papaya rotten; fish old). This to often makes up for the perceived savings. Then mgmt doesn't want to take anything back. Once they gave me the wrong fish. The return was uncomfortable & I had to wait a total of 20-30 min to exchange. No apology. Instead they act like they're doing a favor. Their customer service is poor. I'm going to do them a favor and give my $500 a month to other stores. read more

1st time today after new ownership took over. Fish market is pretty amazing, they fillet fresh fish right there for you, live crabs that are actually still fighting back. Found Lizano Sauce, finally don't have to trade US deodorant and chocolate and go down there to get it. Tried an awesome Korean Bulgogi Sauce and bought some thin sliced Ribeye on sale, and had the yummiest dinner I've had in a long time. Nice variety of veggies, and wasn't too crowded on a Saturday. Had to knock off one star for not being very clean, and the smell of fish as you walk in. But loads better variety than the Supergran. read more

Unless you are healthy and paying with cash, I would not go an do business with these people. I just returned from an extremely unpleasant visit to the grocery store. An Asian Manager was yelling at my son because he couldn't lift a 50lb back. This women obviously is not customer service oriented. She looks down at disabled, elderly and poor people. What a horrible experience. The management and new owners are terrible and I would not go back to the store. The cashiers are very pleasant. If you want to be ridiculed and cursed at, then feel free to go. We surely miss the old Grand Mart... read more

dont buy seafood here mostly latino people working behind the seafood counter with little or no english and no training in food safety. i got shrimp and when i got home opened the bag it was such a bad smell it made the whole house stink, spoiled shell fish can make people very sick, including paralysis , when went back with the shrimp I asked to speak with the manager but I was told no manager was at the store, and if I didnt have the receipt they would not refund my money, which I did not have it since I dont keep the receipt from a grocery store but their sticker was still on the bag, then they decided to refund my money but when I told him how dangerous it was to sell spoiled shell fish and I would call the health department they got mad and change their mind about my refund, which was fine, but what really upset me was that nobody would admit to be a manager, and i did call the health department on them read more

Super Best has reasonable prices with a mainly east Asian focus. They have a good fish counter and the people who staff it do a good job cleaning the fish. There are also some Indian, African and Latino products here. Produce is very cheap compared to gringo markets, but does tend to be somewhat B grade so some discretion is advised. One star off for the often long checkout lines and for having an unpredictable selection (e.g. sometimes they don't have galanga, not even frozen). read more

I went on a walk this Saturday and came across super best international market. I never went in so I decided to go inside with my friend. We instantly walked in and got beat in the face with the pungent smell. I have gone to other international markets and it didn't smell as rotten as this one did so that was one issue. We did come across fresh fish and seafood and an assortment of great products with reasonable prices. So if I do go back it will be for the fresh seafood ONLY. We stopped by the fruits and vegetables, I love watching cooking shows and like to see some of the different fruits to try. We came across this white watermelon and it was molded, correction many of the sliced white watermelon was molded and that turned me away so fast I couldn't get out fast enough. I will only buy fresh seafood items here but would love to find a good international store that has nice fresh fruits and vegetables. read more

Worst customer service skills. The cashiers do a good job; however, management does a poor job. The managers are extremely nasty and disrespectful to the customers especially if you would like to return or exchange an item. The managers need to be trained in customer service, they need to be taught how to treat their customers. They are making profit in our communities and treat us in a disrespectful manner. I must say that they have some good Caribbean, Hispanic and African food supplies. Worst customer service I have encountered! I was trying to exchange a salted pumpkin seed, because they put it in the same shelf as the no salted one which I had also bought. The Korean customer service woman inspected the sealed pack and the receipt, and said it was more than a week. I said it is dry, not perishable. She said I have to come back in 2 days because she can't make decision. I said I want to see the manager. She said there is no manager in the store. I said how can a store not have a manager present? She said the manager is not there, period. For a pack of salted pumpkin seed that costs $3.99, she was giving me a hard time. I will never set foot in that store again! read more

I must say that I am very appalled at the customer service that the "account manager" has shown to their customer. I just witnessed a disabled man shopping with his family when she said under her breath that the 50lb bag of rice is not heavy. I'm not sure what the outcome was, but she obviously upset the customer. Instead of pacifying the situation, she continued to instigate and cursing out the customer. I am not sure where she learned her customer service skills, but that is definitely not how you handle customers. To top it all off, the "manager" was pushing the gentleman out the store. I will never go to that grocery store. It is unfortunate as not all the workers there are like that. read more

On our first visit to the store, we were excited to have an Asian/International market so close. We bought a good amount of fresh produce as well as non-perishables. I bought a few non-perishable I already had in my pantry, so I went to take them back the next weekend. When trying to return the items is when I realized how terrible the customer service was. I was first told by a very unhelpful employee, all returns need to be made within 6 hrs of purchasing them, and she pointed to my receipt. On the same receipt, I showed her that their stated policy explicitly referenced "PERISHABLES" need to be returned within 6 hrs of purchase. She then questioned me about why I was returning the items and checked if I had opened them, the whole time looking like I was the biggest inconvenience and con-artist. She then shouted across the store to someone, and eventually told us (in an annoyed tone) that we had to wait 45 minutes for the manager to be on duty. Apparently, NO ONE other than the store manager (who wasn't onsite at 11:45am) could do a return that wasn't within 6 hrs of being purchased. Needless to say, the customer service was horrible. I will not be going there ever again. I'll stick with H-Mart, even though it's twice the distance from our house. We've been there several trips to H-Mart, and they have a great selection and I've never had a problem like this. read more
