Offending AC unit that isn't reaching anywhere near 69° and is continually freezing up. Very little comes out. Terrible and refund-worthy.

We stayed in July. The air conditioner is lackluster at best. Barely anything is coming out of it. When we complained to the staff, they said that all the air conditioners work that way, and that it has to be capped within a three or four degree working range of the ambient temperature, or the compressor will freeze. Which entirely obviates the entire point of the bloody air conditioner. So we are going to have a very hard time sleeping here tonight. Based on this experience alone, I am never ever considering a Super 8 ever again. The one thing that you can generally count on at a hotel, that there's going to be a nice cold air conditioner, does not exist here. If you can sleep in the mid-70s, congratulations. If you need it to be in the 60s, you are up a creek without a paddle and don't ever stay here. I am very glad that I brought a shop fan to blow on me so that I can attempt to get some sleep tonight. This is a basic amenity that they are half-assing, and the entire company should be ashamed of themselves. Also, if you are expecting a pool, please don't expect to use it for anything other than standing there. It closes at 9:00pm and is remarkably tiny, too small to even really swim laps. Imagine that you made enough mistaken choices in your life to wind up in Missouri. Now imagine that you also don't have proper air conditioning. The room is par for the course otherwise for hotels of this caliber, but the air conditioning thing is a bloody deal breaker. Don't stay here. This is bad enough that i keep legitimately considering driving another 8 hours back to Texas and it's already 10:00 p.m.

    Mold on lampshades
    Savanah N.

Mold on all the lampshades, mold in and on the ac unit, mold on the shower curtain. When I checked in I noticed the shower curtain and called the front desk, they couldn't replace it till the morning. This was the first room on the third floor. When went to the front desk in the morning, I quietly told them the situation and showed them these photos. They NEVER apologized to me they just said oh ok we will put you in another room. They put me in a queen room when I had reserved a king, I walked in it and the second room ALSO had mold. Mold everywhere, lampshades ac unit everywhere(I have a video). I had to grab all of my things AGAIN and tell them of this issue. They never apologized to me and never offered anything to me to make up for this disgusting un healthy mess. As an asmatic this is highly dangerous and I was smart enough to keep my inhaler and allergy medication with me for this trip. We will never be coming back here. I paid $190 to stay in this filth and I won't ever do it again. I will also be letting everyone know about this.

It was an excellent stay. Clean nice room, very homie. But the beds wasn't so comfortable. The stay was good. Liked it. I would recommend the stay to anyone.

Jasper the Adventure Dog really enjoyed meeting Marcy at the Super 8 in Rolla, MO. She was so nice. My room was bigger than most so I could play ball and it had a nice chair for me to sit on.

Excellent water pressure, however the shower head was covered in mold.

It was a nice price for such a late check in and early checkout. Sheets were clean, room was musty. Bed was comfy. However there are certain things that were just disgusting. I don't think I'd let a toddler roll around on the floor.

    Hotel room chair

I really don't think I need to add much information here. Take a look at the two pictures attached. Upon entering the room, we found a horrendous stain on this chair and pubes in the shower. On top of that, the entire room smells musty. This will be our last day at a Super 8. I'm afraid to see what we find in the sheets. Avoid--it's not worth the savings!

    Chair in room 307

Second time I stayed here and hopefully the last! This chair was in our room! Seriously would be better without a chair with disgusting stain on it.

This is the chair that was in our room.

The young gentleman working the front desk when I checked in was courteous and helpful getting me settled in. I booked a king room with a study. The room was large enough so I didn't feel cramped and crowded. I could spread out and get some work done. The room felt modern, the linens were comfortable and clean. The bathroom was pretty standard. My only complaint about my visit was the water pressure. I love a good hot shower. I tried different settings on the shower head but was disappointed. They offer breakfast and have a very nice selection. There are standard cold items fruit, cereal, yogurt, etc. there was a waffle station and meat and eggs. The coffee was the perfect compliment to my meal. I will be traveling this way again soon. I will be back soon.

My bar was a bit low when booking this particular hotel prior to our departure. Rolla is a mining area and not really a bustling spot for regular travelers like myself otherwise. Parked directly between Springfield and St. Louis though, it was going to be the ideal spot for us to wrap up 10 hours of driving that day. This Hampton Inn seemed to be the best option in the area. Clearly the most expensive hotel for Rolla, it appeared other options had exceptionally bad ratings or were super cheep road side rooms. Traveling with one other female, a kid and a dog, we booked the Hampton Inn because: 1) it would take a pet ($75 pet fee) 2) it had a frig in the room 3) assumed better safety based on hotel brand name 4) no other known option in my opinion I felt comfortable booking Small, friendly, easy, relatively clean, I found this Hampton Inn just fine. It includes breakfast every morning in addition to two bottles of water in the room. Priced a touch high for area, but not really though for being the best option in area and safety in the Hilton branded Hampton name. Carson who checked us in was friendly, welcoming and explained all we needed to know. Thanks Carson for the hospitality. No USB port options in room, which was my only noticeable con observation. The bathroom could use a little update, maybe some sanding down of the paint on the vanity that was pealing away specifically, but was clean, with plenty of towels and bottled pump shampoo/conditioner/body wash in shower. It was ok. It had a clock, when many hotels are doing away with these in today's world. With 4am wake up times, best to have options for alarms. Although we arrived late, I believe it also serves an easy dinner in the same area as they serve breakfast. Pictures look like maybe a simply pasta, some breads, etc. Don't let my 3 be a discouraging rating. It means to me OK good, not OK bad.

There was plenty of cardio equipment and my husband used the free weights. We planned to let the kids use the indoor pool but never got around to it. As for the breakfast, it is good. There is always some kind of eggs and meat (since we eat low carb, this is clutch.) There are also other options like homemade waffles, various breads, bagels, pastries, muffins, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal. One day they had cheese omelets but they were out. Service animals are protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act and are not subject to pet policies or pet fees. No damage occurred, and the charge on my folio was explicitly labeled as a pet cleaning fee rather than any documented damage or extraordinary cleaning. I contacted hotel management in writing to explain the situation and cite the applicable ADA regulations. As of this review, I have received no response or resolution from the property. On top of this the comforter was stained upon arrival. The hotel claims to be very clean and all it takes is 5 minutes of being there to see their low standards. This experience was disappointing and concerning, particularly for guests who rely on service animals and expect ADA compliance from a national hotel chain. I would strongly encourage management to review ADA requirements and ensure staff are properly trained to avoid similar situations in the future. I would never stay at this hotel again nor recommend it to anyone I know. Truly, I'd rather sleep in my car.

Our family stayed here while visiting. We used to exclusively stay at this brand of hotels but…read morerecently switched to Fairfield Inns. Unfortunately, the NEW Fairfield which was nearby was literally DOUBLE the price of this one so we stayed here. While it wasn't terrible, it wasn't the great great either. We liked the location of this hotel, right off the interstate. Having the shopping plaza right there with TJMAXX, Ross and Academy Sports was nice as there isn't *that* much to do in Rolla but shopping is alway fun. The one negative about the location is there really isn't any food options RIGHT nearby. Perhaps down the road they'll build some restaurants?? The building itself is ok. I'm pretty sure this hotel is older but renovated. Our 2 queen room was comfortable and clean. The hotel has a fitness center and indoor pool which we did not utilize. A big draw of this hotel brand is their free breakfast with their "famous" Cinnamon Rolls. (Drool). I would eat my weight in those things except that I wouldn't want to be like 500lbs so I limit myself to one or two. Aside from them, various types of eggs (some days scrambled, some days fried), sausage or bacon, biscuits and gravy, made to order pancake machine, cold cereals, yogurt and some breads/bagels. Coffee was always hot and fresh. One of the biggest negatives is that the side door key card reader didn't work. As a result, someone kept putting a rock in the door to keep it open. (We assumed workers were doing this so they could go out and come in for smoke breaks). Needless to say, we didn't feel very safe having a locked door kept ajar for anyone to waltz into our hotel unnoticed. We kicked the rock away numerous times but another one would return. As for the employees, everyone I talked to were friendly, especially the breakfast attendant. With that said, I have been taught to not judge a book by it's cover... but many of the "books" here look pretty rough around the edges. We kept a "do not disturb" card on our door hoping to keep anyone out of our room. We also didn't bring anything of value into the room just in case. Maybe we're mistaken. All in all, we had a good stay here and would consider visiting again.

But there are some issues to share that were disappointing. BREAKFAST: With kids, one thing I look for is hot breakfast included with the stay. They offer this, but we didn't end up eating there at all. Their waffle machine was out of commission the entire stay. Clearly, there was no effort to fix or replace it since we were there during weekdays. It wasn't an issue of it breaking over the weekend. The only hot options were scrambled eggs and sausage with no sides -- no cheese, no gravy, no nothing. Just scrambled eggs and sausage links. Not kid friendly. So I thought they could have cereal. The only cereal option was raisin bran. Not cool. We ate snacks in our room and opted for an early lunch. FRIDGE: The refrigerator barely cooled. I had to end up taking our food out of it and putting it in a cooler with ice. TV: Typically on a trip we don't watch much TV. But, my kids are big into baseball and wanted to watch the MLB Home Run Derby. First, the TV wasn't connected at all. I called the front, and they told me to wait it out. Before the game, I walked down and saw the TVs were working in the lobby, and ours wasn't. The front desk attendant came to our room and found that everything had been disconnected. It took about 10 minutes, then she figured it out. BUT, we still couldn't watch the MLB Home Run Derby. It kept rebooting about every five minutes. The front desk attendant was aware and said that happens with all the TVs. It goes out for about 2 minutes and then comes back on. But when you are watching a live event, it makes it impossible to watch. VERY disappointing. We ended up leaving a day early and made it home in time to watch the All Star game. AC The first night was hot and muggy. I looked on the wall, and it said the AC was on. The fan was running all night, but the temperature never went down. When the lady came to check on our TV, I had her check the AC. There was something clicked on it that had the fan going, and it was on cool already, but it wasn't cooling. I'm not sure what she did. So if you stay here and can't get the AC going, talk to the front desk before spending a hot night! Overall, if we didn't need a fridge for a multi-day stay and had no desire to watch TV or eat breakfast, this room was good for the price. Maybe a quick one-night stay where we would leave early the next day. I don't recommend it for a multiple-day stay.
