First, I want to say that the staff was very nice -- every staff member I encountered was polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and for the price, that was great. But there are some issues to share that were disappointing. BREAKFAST: With kids, one thing I look for is hot breakfast included with the stay. They offer this, but we didn't end up eating there at all. Their waffle machine was out of commission the entire stay. Clearly, there was no effort to fix or replace it since we were there during weekdays. It wasn't an issue of it breaking over the weekend. The only hot options were scrambled eggs and sausage with no sides -- no cheese, no gravy, no nothing. Just scrambled eggs and sausage links. Not kid friendly. So I thought they could have cereal. The only cereal option was raisin bran. Not cool. We ate snacks in our room and opted for an early lunch. FRIDGE: The refrigerator barely cooled. I had to end up taking our food out of it and putting it in a cooler with ice. TV: Typically on a trip we don't watch much TV. But, my kids are big into baseball and wanted to watch the MLB Home Run Derby. First, the TV wasn't connected at all. I called the front, and they told me to wait it out. Before the game, I walked down and saw the TVs were working in the lobby, and ours wasn't. The front desk attendant came to our room and found that everything had been disconnected. It took about 10 minutes, then she figured it out. BUT, we still couldn't watch the MLB Home Run Derby. It kept rebooting about every five minutes. The front desk attendant was aware and said that happens with all the TVs. It goes out for about 2 minutes and then comes back on. But when you are watching a live event, it makes it impossible to watch. VERY disappointing. We ended up leaving a day early and made it home in time to watch the All Star game. AC The first night was hot and muggy. I looked on the wall, and it said the AC was on. The fan was running all night, but the temperature never went down. When the lady came to check on our TV, I had her check the AC. There was something clicked on it that had the fan going, and it was on cool already, but it wasn't cooling. I'm not sure what she did. So if you stay here and can't get the AC going, talk to the front desk before spending a hot night! Overall, if we didn't need a fridge for a multi-day stay and had no desire to watch TV or eat breakfast, this room was good for the price. Maybe a quick one-night stay where we would leave early the next day. I don't recommend it for a multiple-day stay. read more

First of all, I'd like to salute the staff -- Robin was at the front desk both days I was there and was wonderful and a big help. all others I spoke with were helpful and very nice. I stayed here because it's advertised as pet friendly and breakfast is included. to the pet aspect- great idea to have the composite wood floors rather than carpet in the 1st floor pet rooms! other places should follow that example. I was in rooms 117 (1st night) & 115 (2nd night) so my comments regarding the room conditions apply to those. when I checked in, I just dropped my bags, etc and left. however, I noticed that the tub was filthy, some hairs in the bottom, dirty ring around the tub and mold in some areas around it, also incredible calcium build up on handles and drain. because I was in a hurry I ran out and then called asking that the tub be cleaned. got back and clearly nothing was done, but it was late so went to bed, however, NOT going to shower in that thing. next morning I asked to be moved explaining why. Robin, who checked me in was very apologetic and would take care of it. I was going out so picked up key card later afternoon when I got back. bathroom was better in the new room, but still some mold and the calcium buildup. I believe they're in the process of remodeling - the beds were comfortable, new linens and spread but they truly need to address their bathroom housekeeping! For heaven's sake, get some CLR and clean the hardware until you have a chance to replace them -- they're old and worn and the build up only makes it look 10 x worse. and old built up stains around the tub just do not cut it. I would also recommend upping the game a bit with the breakfast - there's some kind of strange round flapping scrambled egg pancake looking thing, no bacon or sausage but 2 of the hot catering containers with masking tape labeled EMPTY, cheap white bread for toast, please add perhaps some bananas and oranges to the pile of apples, small yogurts and I'm glad the waffle maker worked. Because I wanted to have breakfast, I stayed here rather than across the street at Motel 6 which is $11 cheaper (but no breakfast) and no $20 pet fee -- pets stay free at Motel 6. a sister lives in Rolla so I'll be coming off and on but without improvements to this property, I'll be staying across the street. read more

The night staff was awesome and real, which is great and all, except for the fact that our fire alarm started chirping at 2 am. The dude with the red beard was a fantastic help, but I wish this wasn't a problem at all as we had to wake up early to finish a 17 hour road trip. read more

Somewhere close to home to have a sleepover and swim for a birthday party...not what I was expecting! Place is a glorified turd! Rooms stunk! Paint pealing a cracking everywhere you turn. Rooms doors so thin you can hear everything while people are talking in the hallways. Booked and confirmed for adjoining rooms, upon arrival told by front desk personal, rooms were not available as promised and given rooms next to each other. (Rented a king and a double queen, got 2 queens) because kids had swam earlier in the day, when we went to swim at 7pm, I was approached and told the kids had had their swim time and there were others in the pool area who were "paying customers" and we needed to be respectful to them. (Playing poker and drinking beer out of glass bottles) Ummm don't you have to be a paying customer to have a room whether it's cash, credit or points? And don't you think a person with points to have a couple rooms probably travels significantly to get said points?!? I would not recommend this place to anyone! Stay across the road at the super 8! They may not have a pool, but I've stayed there in the past. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and treat everyone like a guest! read more

This Days Inn motel along interstate 44 is a very convenient place to just spend your night if you feel your eyes are only halfway open while driving 75 mph. Night staff is very friendly and accomodating but morning shift people are bizzare, a guy that looks like an extra in a Bollywood movie starred at me suspiciously when I took a bucket of ice from the machine. Free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfast, not bad for the price. Make sure to find some travel discount coupon for a better deal. Fresh linens and comfortable bed, a typical economy type of motel. read more

We have stayed here twice now and they have remodeled the Bathrooms since our last visit. With porcelain tubs and ceramic tile walls. The picture posted by Joedel G, was very accurate -- in fact -- it looked exactly like our room. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We paid $10 extra to bring our 16 lb Terrier / Chihuahua and we were assigned a 'Pet Room'. My only complaint was there was a 'doggy smell'. Our Daughter who was staying a different Hotel commented on it But I understand, because they wouldn't want to contaminate all of their rooms with pet dander. The frig was cold when we arrived -- which was nice for putting our leftovers into. Since it was raining and warm --- it was muggy outside. The air conditioner worked amazingly well!! We had access to the microwave and we did bring popcorn, but we had eaten AFTER our Son's Graduation -- and no one wanted it. So I can't say how well it worked. They had an Ice Machine, Soda and Snack vending machines. They provided a free Continental Breakfast. We did get several cups of coffee and tea, but were taking the kids out to Breakfast. They did have breads, danishes, cereal, pancake batter, coffee, tea and a juice machine. I didn't notice if they had any fruit, but most continentals include some kind of fruit. They also provided free WiFi. I guess I do have one other complaint and that was that the Manager , Mike Patel, didn't want to print me up a receipt when I turned in the room keys. He said I booked the room through Priceline I could print up that receipt when I got home. I told him that I wanted proof of my Check Out Time and that I was going to stand there until he gave me a receipt. He also said that in the future I needed to book directly through them and he handed me his business card. I will say our Daughter's room at Econo Lodge was nicer BUT they wouldn't honor her request of a Pet Room (luckily she had left her dog at our house) and she had planned on bringing him. They saw our dog and thought she was theirs and told them they had 'No Dog Rooms' available. When you advertise that pets are accepted -- you should honor it. read more

I can't figure out how to give it no stars, that is what it should receive. I was on a cross country trip with my pet and needed a pet friendly hotel for the evening. Over priced for what you get!! Traveling to California from Indiana and decided to pull over here to rest. Walked into our room and saw the biggest beetle hiding on its back next to the bed. I made my boyfriend get it with a tissue and he said it was still alive and it felt like one of those big long vitamin pills. GROSS! The sheets and pillows look and feel disgusting so I used my own pillow case and my own blanket. My body is sore and I'm tired as hell from staying here. I woke up every 30 minutes making sure there weren't any bugs near me. It was the worst night for me. If bugs and germs aren't an issue for you, then the stay won't be terrible. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! This has to be the most disgusting room I have ever stayed in. We were in the area for two nights to go trout fishing and didn't require fancy. We did, however, expect a moderate attempt at clean with passable customer service. It has neither. It was dirty and falling apart. The housekeeping did nothing but put in fresh towels (they were not fresh....dingy gray and stained) and emptied the trash can. They didn't make the beds or vacuum or replace the soap. The ice bucket was still sitting on the desk full of melted ice. The mattresses had large stains and there were handprints on the walls. Based on this experience, I will always question the quality of Days Inn. The only reason this review has one star is because I couldn't submit the review with no stars. When driving up it didn't look to bad, just dated. Staff was friendly can't say to much about them as I didnt speak to her too much. Moving cross country so needed a place pet friendly, they were the only one with a room available. DISGUSTING! Open the door and a full force smell off soap assaults the senses, can only assume they ran in here before check in to spray over the underlying smell of decay... yes decay. From what? Who knew, no way I'm going to go searching. There is dog/cat hair mated into the carpet between the bed and wall. The sheets on both beds are stained, yellow! Pee yellow, there is a thing called bleach ya know? The toilet is stained and filthy. If you can, DON'T STAY HERE. They offer free breakfast, I can only imagine what their prep area looks like. read more

After driving for 12 hours straight with a ten year old, we came upon the Days Inn with bleary eyes and a small budget for a night's stay. The young woman behind the counter was super friendly and cut us a deal to fit our budget. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The MOST disgusting Days Inn we have stayed. We needed a pet friendly place and we had a coupon from one of those motel books at interstate rest areas. Parked in front of the door with our handicap license plates that the clerk could see. When I realized the room was on the second floor I told him we were both handicap and I wasn't sure my wife could climb the stairs. He said the rooms with coupon were all on second floor and if we wanted ground floor it was quite a bit more. Unfortunately we took the second floor room and my wife was hurting by the time she got up there (I just had heart surgery a month prior, and am currently undergoing chemotherapy.) The room was very dirty. The carpet was dirty but especially around the furniture and up next to the wall. The sheets "looked" clean or we would have left. After my wife was already in bed, we realized the A/C was not working - I just thought it was going to take time. I then saw trash on the floor between the night stand and the bed (straws and cup lids and paper). The toilet was not fully bolted to the floor and the seat was very loose. (I wasn't about to try and tighten it without a bucket of bleach). We didn't bother even taking a shower and just left in the morning I left a review with the front desk that had my email but of course have gotten no reply and it has been a couple of weeks. Earlier on our trip, a La Quinta in Texas was out of the coupon rooms but gave us a free upgrade to a suite that was a 1000% nicer than this dump and for the SAME PRICE! Class act, La Quinta, no-class act for this Days Inn. There are other motels at this same exit on the Interstate. Any of them have to be better than this place. read more
