Have I been time warped to the 70's?
    Maria T.

What can I say...? It's a budget hotel. And by the way, I didn't book it, my hubby was trying to save a few bucks and picked this place. As we drove in, I groaned, and yearned for the Marriott across the street. "It's just for the night," he says. Anyway, the lobby was clean. We checked in and when we opened the door to our room, I felt like I was time warped into the 1970's... shades of avocado, brown, gold and burnt orange enveloped us. I swear I had a Brady Bunch flashback. This wasn't a cool, retro 70's feel - this was a old, funky kind of vibe. The bed was hard, the linens were threadbare, the towels were rough, the furniture was worn. In the bathroom, there were holes in the wall where a towel bar used to be. One plus was that the bathroom was wheelchair accessible. From the shower, to the sink, to the mirror - it was fitting to accommodate the handicapped and I appreciated that. Although we weren't in need of these amenities, my mom is handicapped and she would have been pleased. Another thing I appreciated was their effort in placing a humorous sign in the bathroom regarding the towels, appliances, etc. See photo. No, I wouldn't come back here and would rather spend a few extra dollars for a nicer stay, but if you're on a shoestring budget, this place is adequate. Two stars because it's not the worst place I've ever stayed, but it's definitely not Super.

Affordable rate if you don't mind the constantly running AC fan and the lack of black out curtains. We had a hard time falling asleep because of the noise and the light coming in from the outside. The front desk staff told us breakfast is grab and go and it's muffins, fruits, etc. The attached pictures are what the actual breakfast was so we were very disappointed! I'd say the only two things we like are the size of the room and the covered parking. The staff does not come in the room during the stay due to COVID-19 so you have to put your dirty towels/trash out in the morning to be picked up and ask for fresh set at the front desk.

Blood stain on the pillow under the pillow case

TRIGGER WARNING: DRIED BLOOD I usually love staying at mid-range hotels that don't break the bank because it's a great bang for your buck. I decided to try something other than my usual go-to--Hampton Inn--and it was definitely the worst mistake of my life. A bit dramatic? Perhaps, but any guest would be disgusted and for lack of a better word, pissed, after finding DRIED BLOOD on their hotel pillows. My boyfriend and I booked a double queen bed room (because there were no other single beds left) for two nights. We alternated beds during our two night stay. After our second night (and second bed), we found dried blood underneath one of the pillows. We opened the pillow case to see if the case was changed--it was not. We immediately ruled out that the blood was from one of us and we notified the front desk. The manager called us after we checked out to not so subtly BLAME US and doubt us for notifying them of this disgusting situation on our last day. We were also told that the only thing that they could do is "give a 25% discount the next time you stay with us". Are they out of their minds? I'm so disappointed at this 2-star hotel. The least they could do is be sanitary and pose no health risks. Just imagine how the rest of the hotel rooms are cleaned with this kind of negligence. Please stay away and find other great, CLEAN mid-range hotels in this area. This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced and the dirtiest hotel I've ever been to.

    Dirty microwave

I only stayed at Super 8 bc this is a new hotel but it is sure to go downhill quickly and become the typical gross Super 8s across the country. When I checked in my room was dirty. Dried mud chocolate (?) on the floor, hair in the sink, dusty, dirty microwave, a stain on one of the pillows and I don't want to know what the white crusty spots on the chair in the corner where. The same cough drop wrapper and dirt were in the elevator for the 10 days I was there. It's the off season in Hershey. Rooms should be spotless! House keeping came in and emptied the trash, made the bed, brought clean towels. That's it. Never saw or heard a vacuum cleaner. The waffle maker and juice dispenser were out of order in the breakfast area. Staying there over a week I can tell that the same sausages and "eggs" were being reheated and placed out again. The coffee here in room and in breakfast area is the nastiest I ever had. The hotel was quiet bc it's off season. On my second to last night someone checked in the room above me and were so loud. Walls are paper thin. Won't be staying here when I return for business in 2 months. Going to try the new Fairfield across the street. I had been traveling since 4 am on west coast and didn't get in until 11:00 pm east coast. I was tired and had I saw all of this before my 6am meeting the next day I would not have stayed here. Being gone at meetings most of the time I just slept and showered there. I would be really pissed if I was on vacation with my family and checked into this mess!!

Found a pair of shorts in my bed. And they are NOT mine....

If I could give less I would. #1, Rude staff #2, They did nothing about a group of kids playing soccer in the hallway at 9:45pm #3, I found a pair of shorts (not mine) in my bed.

Super Disgusting (8/19/16 room 317 Hershey, PA locations ) This a pic of a Live Bed Bug
    Brn E.

Super disgusting is what my stay was like at Super 8. My husband and I checked in on 8/9/16. After driving from MA, I went straight to the bathroom where there was urine drops on the toilet. It gets worst because the next morning my son woke up and found a bedbug crawling on the sheets next to a blood stain. When we notified the manager, her only resolutions was to offer us 20% percent off our night's stay and locate another motel. She later negotiated 50% percent off. She treated us like trash when in fact the hotel was the real dump. I will never stay at this filth hole again. If you want to enjoy Hershey Park, stay across the street at the Marriot.

One of the cleaner, quieter hotel/motels that we where we have stayed lately. No b-fast but a very comfortable bed is a good compromise.

Pretty nice for a budget motel. Quiet. Fine front desk. Breakfast fine enough. The lobby and the room were very clean. Would recommend.

Stayed here for a long birthday weekend from VA. It is a…read morevery clean & small hotel with 5 floors & plenty of parking. The larger studio with 2 Queen Beds & pull out sofa is very spacious with 4 adults but can accommodate 5. There is a partitioned room /work space from the sleeping area, but no door. There are also two TVs. The other tv is located in the work space/separate sitting area with a pull out sofa, coffee table, & a pull out work table & office chair. There are numerous outlets, however some of the sockets were "loose" the plugs wouldn't stay secure in the outlet. But fortunately we remedied this by using other available outlets near the floor lamps. I was relieved when my friend & I pulled out the sofa bed, because sometimes you never know what kind of "surprise" you might find. The sofa bed was really clean & looked relatively new. My friend reported that the bed was a bit stiff but was fine. The AC unit worked like a charm! I do like the full sized shampoo/conditioner & body wash. It's very convenient. A hair dryer is provided for convenience. I do make it a point to search for hotels with a microwave & mini fridge. It's super helpful for road trips for your bottled water or beverages to keep cold & store leftovers. Water pressure was good, as well as the temperature. The only thing that was disappointing was the every other day housekeeping. Although this is mentioned in their website. Breakfast was fairly extensive, with a mixture of cold & hot items such as make your own waffles with options of bottled toppings aside from syrup, toast, bagels, yogurt, cold cereal, oatmeal, bananas, apples, oranges, jams, jellies, & three hot items that would vary on occasion of a frittata, or an omelette, and a type of sausage, either pork or turkey varying on the day. There were friendly employees tending the breakfast area with a smile, ensuring the areas stayed clean & items were replenished & for assistance if needed. Juices & milk were available. While the tea & coffee were at a separate area in the dining area. While it became busy, there was still plenty of seating & no back ups with obtaining food. Sometimes, I wonder exactly what people are looking for when it comes to "complementary" breakfast, when they refer to the breakfast as being garbage or inedible. Clearly you're not going to have eggs Benedict or avocado toast & customized smoothies. If a hotel provides numerous options that also include hot items, I get pretty excited. Haha, it's when it's a continental breakfast that consists of JUST bananas, apple or a bagel & yogurt or a thrown in granola bar is when the disappointment arrives for me. Honestly, it's a nice convenience to have breakfast included so you don't start your day off hangry or trying to figure out where you're going for breakfast. It saves time, & it essentially saves money. It definitely is close to Chocolate World, Hershey Park & a 5 minutes drive from The Hershey Story, Chocolate Avenue Grill & Au Bon Lieu! Roughly a 45 minute drive to Strasburg RR, and a 35 minute drive to Turkey Hill Experience. There is a CVS within walking distance down the block, and an Exxon a block away on the other side of the hotel. The post office across the street is an Annex, so if you need to mail something off, there is a post office near the Hershey Story Museum, behind the Starbucks area. Although places are within walking distance, the streets are not ,that lead to the restaurants. There is no sidewalk until you reach a far way down. Overall, this is a good choice for a hotel if you want to be "centrally" located to Lancaster & other activities outside Downtown Hershey. It's in an unassuming area that seems out of place, but it's convenient, clean, spacious, includes breakfast, parking is included, has a microwave & mini fridge so it ticks off all the boxes for me. Plus the staff were kind & friendly & the hotel looked fresh & beautiful. The indoor pool is small & only 4 feet deep I believe, so if a pool is a deal breaker, this might be a no go for you. Ps if you want a surface to eat on because you don't feel like dining out & you order take away, you can roll that office table between the two beds & use it as a dining table.

Just finished a six night stay…read more We stayed in large room. It had two queens and a pullout. There was a desk area. Also had a small microwave and small fridge. The room felt dark-with decor in particular. Breakfast every morning. Had your typical breakfast- waffle maker waffles, cereal, bagels, eggs, a breakfast meat, yogurt, fruit, juices. They also had coffee that was out 24/7. Has a small indoor pool and a nice exercise room. Hershey Park during summer months have concerts that you can hear from the sound from your room. So if you go to bed early this may be an important factor. Rooms didn't really have a refresh. I was lucky if trash was taken out and we got new towels without asking. Not a bed made once. I miss those days of coming back to a nicely made bed. I guess those days are long gone? Also, the week we were there lots of kids which were running around the lobby like it was a playground. Overall my stay was okay. I might book here again if I was in the area but I would also consider a different spot as well.

All we really eat for breakfast anyway. then all day there are bags of chips pretzels tea/coffee/hot chocolate/soft drinks dispenser (sodas/lemonade/iced tea/gatorade). At 11a they roll out snacks, big cookies, etc. at 5p there's a reception with prosciutto, olives, Brie, salami, crackers, wine, beer, etc. then dessert like mini cakes at 7:30p. All part of the room fee. The rooms felt dated - particularly the bathroom, where the wallpaper was peeling and the bathtub showed its age. The overall décor could benefit from a refresh. Small touches would also make a difference; for example, swapping the chocolate bar welcome for liquid body wash instead of bar soap would feel more practical and modern. I stayed for a conference, and while the buffet food was decent, the desserts were the standout - especially the brownies, cookies, and flourless chocolate cake. Those were definitely a win. The waterpark was a lot of fun for the kids and a big highlight of the stay. That said, it would be great if both the waterpark and on-site restaurants had extended hours, especially on weekends, to better accommodate families. A few logistical frustrations stood out as well. The check-in line was extremely long, so be prepared to wait - it would be a huge improvement if they offered a virtual check-in option. Additionally, room service does not come during multi-day stays, which was disappointing. A simple refresh between days would go a long way in improving the guest experience. Overall, it's a pleasant place with family-friendly features, but it didn't quite live up to other resort experiences I've had. If your main focus is a waterpark getaway, you may want to consider Great Wolf Lodge as a comparison.
