Do you like dust and black mold? Well then, this might just be the "hotel" for you! I have a dust allergy and even being in the room gave me an allergic reaction. Originally I thought it was just from the dust--there definitely a lot of it. But then I checked the air vent. Black mold. I had to clean it myself because the cleaning staff clearly had never touched it. The room is very cheaply made, with the fake wood vinyl peeling off of the door and the "wood" beams were falling off because they were stuck on with tape. The breakfast was subpar; while the cereal and baked goods weren't so bad, the cooked things like sausages were borderline diseased. Many of the drink dispensers were perpetually out of order. Any time you approached the food table, you would be overwhelmed by the stench of rotten milk. There was no milk. I don't know what was causing the smell. The room cards will randomly deactivate. They were not kept anywhere near my phone but decided to randomly cease working. Had to get them fixed. The staff was nice enough but that's about the only positive thing I can think of. So grime, disease, malfunctions, inedible food, and disgusting cleaning standards...What else? Everything. There was no single good thing I can say at all about my stay. Even the elevators could only work what felt like once an hour. Nothing in this place is worth even a dime, I'd have gotten a better bang for my buck if I'd bought a sleeping bag and slept under a bridge somewhere like a troll. There was something clumpy and grey on the wall. What was it? I don't know. I don't know if I want to know. I'm scared and disgusted. Please don't stay here. Sorry for any spelling errors...I'm having an allergy attack from the mold. Every single orifice on my face is clogged and the entire surface of my skin itches. I need to social distance myself from this hotel. It needs to be leveled to the ground because there is no saving it. It so riddled with mold that I think there might be more mold than hotel. read more

Good stay with a nice room. Very middle of the road for accommodations. Nice staff, clean and orderly lobby with quick check-in. The room had plenty of space though underneath it all it's dated. Let me start with positives: The older gentleman sometimes at the front desk was nice. The room refrigerator works. When checking in the young clerk was pushy, asking 3 times for my email address in a thick accent. The hotel "must know the information about their guests". After a 4 hour drive I just wanted the room. Honestly I couldn't understand the other things he told me. He gave us a room next to the elevator, stairs and ice machine. The stairs are old creaky wooden stairs so we heard every family that went up and down. The ice machine was incredibly loud. The decor in the room used to be a hershey chocolate brown but it's now worn out. The window AC makes a lot of different noises, which made it hard to sleep. The pillows are half-size of a normal pillow. Strange! Yes there was breakfast included with our $150 rate. The dining area was way too small for the amount of people so lots of folks were standing. Hot items included a sheet of eggs where you wonder if there is egg inside and sausages where you wonder if meat is inside. They tasted bland. The coffee from both machine and large flask was weak. The juice is mixed with water. The yogurts were small. A hotel worker with a thick accent attended the breakfasts. He always seemed to appear from nowhere too close to us to fix something. One time the waffle machine was broken and the batter machine dispensed water. I saw him pour the dispensed water back into the batter container for the next "lucky" customer. When a family left their table, they left several cups and trash. I wanted the table and gave the hotel worker a long time to clean it. He definitely saw the table and chose not to clean it. Should customers clean up after other customers? I pushed the trash to the side for my family to eat there. When I left the same trash upon leaving, the worker had the gall to loudly say "don't worry, I will clean up after you". When it rains, the TV's don't work. The Direct TV shuts down. I wanted to watch the Olympics with my kids and this was quite a bummer! It is hard to leave the hotel parking lot without getting into an accident. The exit is angled in a way that you can't see over your shoulder for traffic and the road there is notorious for speeding vehicles. read more

What can I say...? It's a budget hotel. And by the way, I didn't book it, my hubby was trying to save a few bucks and picked this place. As we drove in, I groaned, and yearned for the Marriott across the street. "It's just for the night," he says. Anyway, the lobby was clean. We checked in and when we opened the door to our room, I felt like I was time warped into the 1970's... shades of avocado, brown, gold and burnt orange enveloped us. I swear I had a Brady Bunch flashback. This wasn't a cool, retro 70's feel - this was a old, funky kind of vibe. The bed was hard, the linens were threadbare, the towels were rough, the furniture was worn. In the bathroom, there were holes in the wall where a towel bar used to be. One plus was that the bathroom was wheelchair accessible. From the shower, to the sink, to the mirror - it was fitting to accommodate the handicapped and I appreciated that. Although we weren't in need of these amenities, my mom is handicapped and she would have been pleased. Another thing I appreciated was their effort in placing a humorous sign in the bathroom regarding the towels, appliances, etc. See photo. No, I wouldn't come back here and would rather spend a few extra dollars for a nicer stay, but if you're on a shoestring budget, this place is adequate. I have no idea why anyone would have any complaints about this place. 1. The place is adorable-mid century modern, retro look (new furnishings) 2. Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. 3. TV worked great and had a great selection of channels. 4. Place is SPOTLESS!!! Extremely clean. 5. The staff were very friendly. 6. Breakfast was great and was included. Affordable rate if you don't mind the constantly running AC fan and the lack of black out curtains. We had a hard time falling asleep because of the noise and the light coming in from the outside. The front desk staff told us breakfast is grab and go and it's muffins, fruits, etc. The attached pictures are what the actual breakfast was so we were very disappointed! I'd say the only two things we like are the size of the room and the covered parking. The staff does not come in the room during the stay due to COVID-19 so you have to put your dirty towels/trash out in the morning to be picked up and ask for fresh set at the front desk. read more

TRIGGER WARNING: DRIED BLOOD I usually love staying at mid-range hotels that don't break the bank because it's a great bang for your buck. I decided to try something other than my usual go-to--Hampton Inn--and it was definitely the worst mistake of my life. A bit dramatic? Perhaps, but any guest would be disgusted and for lack of a better word, pissed, after finding DRIED BLOOD on their hotel pillows. My boyfriend and I booked a double queen bed room (because there were no other single beds left) for two nights. We alternated beds during our two night stay. After our second night (and second bed), we found dried blood underneath one of the pillows. We opened the pillow case to see if the case was changed--it was not. We immediately ruled out that the blood was from one of us and we notified the front desk. The manager called us after we checked out to not so subtly BLAME US and doubt us for notifying them of this disgusting situation on our last day. We were also told that the only thing that they could do is "give a 25% discount the next time you stay with us". Are they out of their minds? I'm so disappointed at this 2-star hotel. The least they could do is be sanitary and pose no health risks. Just imagine how the rest of the hotel rooms are cleaned with this kind of negligence. Please stay away and find other great, CLEAN mid-range hotels in this area. This was the worst customer service I've ever experienced and the dirtiest hotel I've ever been to. read more

One of the cleaner, quieter hotel/motels that we where we have stayed lately. No b-fast but a very comfortable bed is a good compromise.

I would not recommend staying at the Super 8 Wyndham in Hershey. It was partly our fault because it was cheap--$99. We knew we wouldn't be to the hotel until after a concert at the Giant Ctr and we would be leaving in the morning so we didn't want to pay a lot. I found a maggot climbing up the wall behind the desk the next morning. If I had found it at night, I would have asked to change rooms or for a refund. The TV didn't work. The attendant on duty did come to the room quickly. He got it working but we didn't realize until after he left that we only had one channel. The volume did not work either. We could hear the people in the room above us until 1:30 A.M. I really couldn't say anything positive about the room. I would never stay there again. read more

Super 8 Hershey weekend trip Stayed for weekend in November. A lot of hotels were booked for people attending Pastor Joel Osteen in Hershey Giant Center. As a result I hunted around on line at different sites. Super 8 had nice ratings and exactly what I needed. Was also close to heart of Hershey PA. Check in was easy and room was exceptionally clean. Got up early for breakfast and good selection of items. Another reviewer staed it was just cereal and bagels. Not for our visit. Made waffles from easy to use waffle iron, had sausage & scramble eggs and put on a bagel to create a breakfast sandwich. drank OJ and coffee and took a couple piece of fruit for drive.This is a small place, 37 rooms but exceptionally well maintained. Only possible negative is that it has no pool. Personally don't care about this but some might. read more

This is our second year staying here and we really don't have any serious complaints. It's not fancy but it's convenient to where we go while we are in Hershey. Their free breakfast is decent and includes eggs, breakfast meat, waffles, baked goods, cereal, yogurt and fruit. The rooms are a decent size and are clean. I only stayed at Super 8 bc this is a new hotel but it is sure to go downhill quickly and become the typical gross Super 8s across the country. When I checked in my room was dirty. Dried mud chocolate (?) on the floor, hair in the sink, dusty, dirty microwave, a stain on one of the pillows and I don't want to know what the white crusty spots on the chair in the corner where. The same cough drop wrapper and dirt were in the elevator for the 10 days I was there. It's the off season in Hershey. Rooms should be spotless! House keeping came in and emptied the trash, made the bed, brought clean towels. That's it. Never saw or heard a vacuum cleaner. The waffle maker and juice dispenser were out of order in the breakfast area. Staying there over a week I can tell that the same sausages and "eggs" were being reheated and placed out again. The coffee here in room and in breakfast area is the nastiest I ever had. The hotel was quiet bc it's off season. On my second to last night someone checked in the room above me and were so loud. Walls are paper thin. Won't be staying here when I return for business in 2 months. Going to try the new Fairfield across the street. I had been traveling since 4 am on west coast and didn't get in until 11:00 pm east coast. I was tired and had I saw all of this before my 6am meeting the next day I would not have stayed here. Being gone at meetings most of the time I just slept and showered there. I would be really pissed if I was on vacation with my family and checked into this mess!! read more

We stayed here for our Hershey park trip (5 minutes away). It was the family room that slept 6 people. It was nice and big! Its the room that is on the main picture with the 2 beds and couch. There was a fridge and microwave. Checked for bed bugs, nothing, the room was clean. Bathroom was clean, with a hair dryer and they gave us enough towels for everyone without having to ask. 2 of us forgot toothbrushes, and they gave them to us at the front desk. I forgot to ask the manager her name, but she was super nice and friendly. Breakfast was unexpectedly good. They had an assortment of cereal, muffins and doughnuts, English muffins and bread to toast, scrambled eggs and sausage. And a waffle iron to make waffles. Also had apple and orange juice and I think coffee (not sure, I don't drink it). read more

Super disgusting is what my stay was like at Super 8. My husband and I checked in on 8/9/16. After driving from MA, I went straight to the bathroom where there was urine drops on the toilet. It gets worst because the next morning my son woke up and found a bedbug crawling on the sheets next to a blood stain. When we notified the manager, her only resolutions was to offer us 20% percent off our night's stay and locate another motel. She later negotiated 50% percent off. She treated us like trash when in fact the hotel was the real dump. I will never stay at this filth hole again. If you want to enjoy Hershey Park, stay across the street at the Marriot. read more

Super 8 is awesome. It is a 37 bed hotel/motel - 5 minutes to Hershey Park. They could not be more friendly and accommodating. From Meeta to (I'm so sorry I forget your name - yet he was awesome) to Dave to the hotel manager. No task was too large or too small to accommodate. When I mentioned to Dave that the coffee was not that good - he played around with it the next morning - greatly improved. The breakfast selection was decent. My 7 grandchildren loved the hotel. The rooms were super spacious - bathroom really nice - very clean hotel. We would stay there again. Super management- very accommodating! Oh, when I asked for adjoining rooms, it was "no problem" ~ they totally remembered. read more

This is my second year here, we stay here when we visit Hershey Park. The rooms are big clean and nice. I always book early from Expedia and lock in a low price. The staff is friendly and they have a legit continental breakfast. They have a great late check in policy, and this year I was able to check in early. Its also 5 mins from the park. I'm not sure what the other hotels in the area are like but they either seemed way overpriced or they look a little crumbly on the outside. There's also a rite aid right next door and I can walk over if i need an emergency item. Def recommend if you are looking to stay in the area. read more

Close to Hershey and the major roads, free breakfast and wifi. Staff is very nice, Its a Super 8 though. There is no pool. Theres a small workout room, not sure Id call it a gym. Theres a CVS next door you can easily walk to. I dont think housekeeping vacuums on a regular basis or does any extensive cleaning. I dont really make a mess so its not a huge deal for me but might be for some. The big thing for me is that the walls are very thin and you can hear everyone. I had a room next to the stairs and elevator for two nights. The first was fine, nice and quiet. The second night was great until a school or a camp or something showed up around 10pm and there was a permanent stampede going up and down the stairs all night. The chaperones barking out instructions every so often didn't help the situation either. I didn't complain because they were (mostly) young kids and they weren't really doing anything wrong, not their fault the rooms have thin walls. This is my second time here and I might return. There are a few local events I go to throughout the year and the hotels nearby always seem to inflate the prices thru the roof at these times. If you don't get a room by the stairs, the low price and breakfast are things to consider. read more

We stayed her for one night after a concert at Hershey. The room was very clean and a decent size. We were put into a room right next to the elevator, and I was worried about noise, but it was actually quite quiet. You could hear the bell from the elevator at the front of the room by the door, but the bed was in a nook and we heard nothing all night. The receptionist was very friendly and suggested that we walk to the concert to avoid traffic afterwards. It was a good, quick stay! read more

I'm from Hershey and was in town for a surprise birthday party for a relative. We usually stay with relatives when we come, but because it was a surprise, we stayed at the Super 8. Although it is new, breakfast was disgusting. I don't know how you would call what they served "eggs & sausage"....I've never seen anything like that before. And although the hired staff is nice and friendly, the owners take every opportunity to charge extra for anything. I'm surprised they didn't charge me $25 to ask a question. I won't stay here again because I don't feel I'm wanted as a customer here. The nicest thing I can say about the property is that it is new. Worst experience ever! Messy management! LIED to customers! And they asked me not to write a review in order to get 20% off, for which I said NO! So please read and be aware! We couldn't check-in at first because they didn't receive our reservation. At that time we thought it's our bank's problem, since we reserved through our bank's travel points. After one hour on the phone without progress, we had to cancel the reservation and pay money. Later we learned that other customers had the same problem when they reserve from Expedia.com. Apparently they did have IT issues to be fixed. Unfortunately, worse was yet to come! After reading their "late checkout" policy, we decided to have lunch in our room before checking out since we got a long drive later. I talked with front desk in the morning and confirmed that we would delay the checkout for two hours (1pm), which was nice and we appreciated that. We placed our foods in the fridge and went for a short visit to the chocolate world. At about 11:30am we received a phone call asking if we still wanted to have "late checkout" because "housekeeping went in our room and found no sign of us" ( you got being kidding me). We explained over the phone and quickly went back to the room. However, the key stopped working and the frond desk guy told us that we have already checked out... We explained again, gained the access and went into the room. The room got cleaned-up, and our foods were gone! This is not the ending yet. Worst of all, we found other foods in the fridge that smells very bad ! Obviously they thrown away ours, called us and found out they made a mistake. Instead of being honest, they got some foods from trash thinking that could be ours, put them back into the fridge pretending they did not touch it... We were furious! This has never happened when we stayed at any other places. First, We were very clear about the checkout time (they put a note, and we could see it from their computer screen) and we had not checked out when housekeeping opened the doors and cleaned up; Second, the management clearly found out about this and they called us, but they decided to LIE about it and took food from trash to put back. read more

We booked this hotel because we were looking for a suite near Hershey Park and with our late booking, most other hotels had no availability. Our room was ready when we arrived at the hotel at 10:30 am and we were allowed to check in and unload our luggage in the room. The room was very spacious and clean with comfortable beds. The staff was pleasant and helpful and gave us the quick directions to the park. We were only about 1.5 miles away. They provided a breakfast that included sausage, eggs, and make your own waffles. We would definitely use this hotel again for future visits to the area. read more

I booked this hotel for a 2 week business trip. I was given a rate for the first week and was told that my rate will continue for the second. When I called to confirm this, days later , I was told that the employee who agreed to this was fired. I then asked to speak to a manager. This is when I talked with the most impolite, and rude "manager" He said his name quickly and refused to spell it so all I got was Mr. Patel. He refused my previously approved rate and told me "feel free to cancel." I tried to explain that 2 of his employees gave me this rate and that he should honor it, he said "absolutely not, I fired them yesterday and if you want to stay, you will pay the full price." I tried to explain the situation further but he kept speaking over me. This "price" increased by $200... I called back hoping to speak to someone else in order to cancel the reservation because I could not tolerate this man any longer, I then learned he is the owner- which is even worse! He needs to learn how to speak to people and then learn how to run a business. read more

Will never stay here or recommend this hotel to anyone. We booked a room for my son and his family over the phone. They traveled here from Altoona for a day at Hersheypark on Saturday. When room was booked with credit card they were told my son would be checking into the room. When they arrived between 11 and 12 at night they were refused entry to the hotel. We received a call and the hotel made us drive from Mechanicsburg to Hershey to sign for the room. Meanwhile my son's family had to wait in their car with their 2 year old son till we got there to sign. Very unprofessional. We went back the next day to complain to management and all they would do is give a 10% discount on the overpriced room. Management could care less about people. Please do not stay at this hotel, the could care less about their customers. I will follow up with a complaint to the corporate chain. Don't need this kind of management in our area. read more

One of the cleanest motels I have stayed in many years. Excellent service from the front desk and surprisingly fresh breakfast items with barely any lines. Highly recommended for reasonable rates (compared to other Hershey establishments) some under shelter parking, and close to all the attractions. read more
