After passing Sunwish many times we stopped in for lunch. The dining room is bright and airy and if the weather is nice they have a small outdoor dining area, Sunwish has hot and cold sandwiches. I tried a hot chicken wrap which came with a small salad of chopped lettuce, onion, tomato and pita chips tossed with oil and vinegar. The sandwich also came with some Zatar spiced fries. The sandwich and salad were both good. The fries were fine but a bit warm vs being hot. The staff were quick and helpful. If we are in the area we'd stop in again.

Sunwish is a nice concept for a fast casual restaurant that offers Mediterranean flavor sandwich (wraps) and salads with a touch of American flavors. While chatting with the owner, Hadi, he informed me that with Sunwish they were not trying to be just another pita/falafel/ shawarma type establishment. He wanted to bring something a bit different to an otherwise typical Middle-Eastern/ Mediterranean food restaurant with influences from Lebanon, Greek, and Cypriotic, cuisines. Sunwish specializes in freshly made to order sandwich wraps or open face melts. Fresh dough his brought from the kitchen and just like a pizza crust is prepared by hands, the dough is hand stretched. Then a sauce or oil base goes on the crust (if applicable) and meat is placed on it. Then they bake the crust for a couple of minutes at a high temperature kind of like neopolitan pizza. After this process, the lightly baked crust gets toppings (as applicable per your order). If you have ordered an open face melt, then you are served the item as if it was a pizza. Otherwise, it's served as a wrap. I ordered a Fire Chick Wrap and Kefta Melt. All the sandwiches come with za'atar seasoned fries and a house Mediterranean (Tabouleh like) salad. Our food was fresh and flavorful in taste. Both the wraps were delicious. They did not skimp on the meat as every bite had pieces of chicken in my wrap. The za'atar fries were da bomb. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were seasoned perfectly and not starchy. I couldn't stop eating them. The salad with mint and lemon flavor was very refreshing. The food hit the spot. Sunwish also has appetizers, salads, desserts, soft and alcoholic beverages. The indoor dining area is spacious and they also have patio area. I went here on a Saturday afternoon and they were busy. It seems to be a popular among the locals, especially the families with kids. We received good, friendly service. The owner/ manager and the staff were helpful and courteous. It was good to chat with them and get to know about their restaurant. I liked the food and service a lot. I'll be going back for more. You should definitely check out Sunwish.

Tried Sunwish in Wheeling and had a really good experience! It's a nice, fresh, casual spot that's perfect for a quick and easy meal. Everything we ordered tasted very fresh, and the staff was really nice and attentive. We tried the crispy eggplant, golden halloumi, eggplant sandwich, falafel fold, cheesy melt, and Banana Nutella crepe. The crispy eggplant and eggplant sandwich were both really good. The crispy eggplant with the lemon sauce was probably my favorite, and the salad was also really fresh and flavorful. And definitely save room for dessert because the Banana Nutella crepe was delicious! Overall, a really nice new Mediterranean spot in Wheeling with lots of vegetarian options and fresh food.

I stumbled upon this restaurant as I was looking for a sandwich shop, but not just any shop, a family owned one. I found it and placed an order online. The owner made my ordering process an easy one. When I walked in, he welcomed me and was so friendly. The turkey club sandwich was prepared perfectly. I can't believe I ate the entire sandwich and the freshly baked flatbread made all the difference. If this restaurant was closer to me, I'd probably come here at least once a week. Inside was very clean. The owner is really nice and so personal. The best sandwich place in the area. I will be back! You have to try this place out!

It was my first visit to Sunwish, but not the last. The place is clean, nicely decorated in contemporary style with disco balls. The service is wonderful. The owner is cheerful, polite, and attentive. The food (I had a first item in the hot sandwiches menu - Francesco Heat) is amazing. I was stunned by happiness of my taste buds. Fries are nicely fried in good oil - crispy outside, soft inside - more like home fried potatoes. Small salad is surprisingly refreshing. Sandwiches are big. I ate the whole wrap in two attempts, but my friend took a second half of her wrap to go, which was very wise. Great place to take food to go, meet with a friend. Thank you

The Kefta melt was the family favorite! Flavorful, filling, and rich! The ingredients were fresh and carefully prepared and served. The salad has a salty and sour vinaigrette with a nice crunchy texture. The fries were heavily seasoned, delightfully battered and fried to perfection. The dining area was spacious and accommodating to large groups. The swivel stools, metal tables and seating were clean, simple, & modern. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We returned with a large group within the same weekend and the staff handled it graciously. If you happen to go in a large group it would be helpful to call ahead to let them know so they can prep things ahead of time.

Zaatar sandwich with halloumi and side salad

Stopped by on a weekday for lunch with a work group. The menu has a good variety to please most people. Since this location was previously a pizza spot, the pizza oven is used to make fresh lavash used in all of the sandwiches as well as cook the appetizer bites. I will note there are a limited number of vegan/vegetarian menu items. When ordering the zaatar wrap, I upgraded and added halloumi to make the sandwich more filling. The staff accommodated the lack of a meal option with the zaatar sandwich by adding a side salad. The dressing on the salad was bright with sumac and a perfect addition to any sandwich. Since there were two back to back larger groups, our orders took a little bit longer than anticipated. The staff apologized multiple times and treated us to dessert to make up for it. None of us were planning to order any dessert but I would certainly recommend a little Nutella treat as long as you aren't allergic.

Sunwish is a newly opened Lebanese restaurant and I'm so happy it's open. It's a casual dine in restaurant where you place your order at the register or self-serve kiosk, have a seat, and your order gets brought out to you on lovely silver trays. Drinks are self serve and dining ware is disposable. All the food is made fresh, in house, and prepared to order. The bread is DELICIOUS! We watched the staff stretch the fresh dough and prepare everything right in front of us. The oven it was cooked in is so unique. The food comes up really quick too. For starters, we tried the Golden Halloumi which are tasty fried halloumi sticks with a fresh thousand island dipping sauce. We also had the BITE mix which was so flavorful! I really like the Zaatar, but all 3 flavors were good - including the olives and I normally don't like olives. They're little flat, round bread bites similar to a flatbread. We ordered several different sandwiches and they were all different in flavor, yet so delicious. Hubs ordered the Kefta OG which came with a small salad and fries. The Kefta was juicy and had just the perfect amount of seasoning. The in-house made bread was thin and yet sturdy to hold in all the ingredients making it a perfect sandwich. I love cheese so I ordered the bacon halloumi which did not disappoint. The bacon was so well flavored and complimented the halloumi cheese. I also tried the Kefta Melt which was the perfect combination between my sandwich and my husband's sandwich. It was meaty, cheesy, and fresh tasting with the tomatoes and pickle. The fries were crispy and hot, the Zaatar seasoning added a level of flavor which kept me going back for more. The salad that accompanied our sandwiches was fresh and just the right portion to round out everything. We had to finish with dessert and ordered Nutella banana with crushed hazelnuts. It was light and just the right amount of everything. The service was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The owner encouraged us to ask questions and she gave us time to look over the menu. The inside was bright, clean, and comfortable. There are plenty of tables for seating and this is perfect for families who want to eat in a casual, comfortable, and welcoming setting. The portions are very generous.

I attended Sunwish's soft opening March 26, when the owner offered free food. My family really enjoyed it! Sunwish offers Mediterranean sandwiches that are more like wraps. They're cooked in a pizza oven (this location was previously home to Fire Crust Pizza). The Francisco Heat chicken sandwich was my favorite. The meat was tender and the fillings were tasty. We also tried the Red Paprika sandwich, which was not at all spicy. Sandwiches are served with a side of perfectly seasoned fries and a small salad. Sunwish is located at the corner of Lake-Cook and Lexington Drive, right next to Starbucks. When you enter, you order and pay at the counter, and food is brought to your table. Fountain drinks and desserts are also available. The food was great and I'll definitely be back. But the best part of my first experience was chatting with the owner, who is super friendly, customer-focused and seems like an all-around nice guy First impressions are important, and mine said Sunwish will be a great success!

Side 2 street Burger sandwich

The place used to be...or was last I guess a pizza place. So they have this big pizza oven that they use to make really excellent flat breads for the sandwiches. It kinda different, it's been open for a little bit but we just made it over there and did take out to our work which is just across the street. I am a sucker for coleslaw on sandwiches so the Street Burger Sandwich was an obvious first try. Beef patty, mozzarella, tomato, pickles, coleslaw, fries, fresh onions, smoky sauce. It came with za'atar fries and a small salad. The salad was excellent, crunchy, sweet, sour, lots of great textures and spices and a good amount of acidity. The fries again very good, great spice, crunchy and different. The sandwich is big, they cut it in half and one half would have been plenty. The bread is super good, like a thin pita, it was a messy sandwich but the bread held it all together. I am a big fan of that flat bread. It seems like one side of my sandwich had the cole slaw (very good cole slaw too!) and the other had the fries. Not sure if that was intentional, but it worked. The Street Burger Sandwich was really good, no complaints, the burger paddy was...fine, a bit lost in everything else. We all really enjoyed it and being so close it will not be our last time there.

Fortunately, I've now learned that this deli is far from normal and that you will have no difficulties ordering if you only speak English. From the outside, nothing really makes this deli stand out from other stores. There's not much advertising and the parking lot typically isn't very full. When you go into the store, you are surrounded by an amazing assortment of (mostly Russian) entrees, salads, desserts, and other food goods. This is at very competitive prices to other local delis and against Garden Fresh across the street. The daily lunch special for $5.50 is a steal for the amount of food that you get, matching Garden Fresh, Fresh Farms, KD Markets, and other local stores for value. What makes Allegro stand out for me -- other than the wonderful presentation -- is the large assortment of entrees available and the delicious flavors. With the food available here, there is hardly any reason to go to a Russian restaurant -- as most of the dishes you would have ordered are probably available here. The flavor in many cases are as good or sometimes even better than other local Russian restaurants. In particular, there are certain items that really stand out for me: - Split pea soup: Very rich and flavorful, I feel like there's ham or some other element adding flavor - Buckwheat: Prepared well as a side to accompany any entree - Cutlets: A little bready, but the texture and size is great - Vinegret: Tastes fresh and has a slightly crisp texture to it - Kabobs: Nice charcoal flavor infused, I particularly enjoyed the chicken - Fried potatoes: I feel there's probably lard infused into it, but it's very tasty and with a generous portion. Overall, worth a visit if you live in the area or if you want to explore Russian cuisine. Great prices and great selection with large portions.

We had ordered two multigrain avocado turkey sandwiches, that came with avocado, turkey breast, and cucumber. We just added Swiss cheese, artichokes, red peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, and seasoning. It came to a great sandwich with abundance of ingredients, that were all fresh and delicious. Best Gyro's, tzatziki & hummus!…read more I called around searching for a platter of gyros to get for my husband's Greek themed birthday party at home but I wanted a place that also had homemade hummus. This was the ONLY place I could find that had truly homemade hummus...everything there was homemade! Not only was the hummus to die for, the gyros were tender, moist and delicious. They had great flavor and were perfectly seasoned. I'm personally not even a gyro fan but I LOVED these! Of course my husband, the true gyro fan, thought they were amazing! We picked up a 1/2 pan of gyros, which is about 2.5 lbs of meat, a few hours before our party. I put it in a crockpot at home on low with a little water in the bottom and it was warm and fresh when we were ready to eat a few hours later. All of our guests raved about the food! Thanks!
