If your experience is similar to mine - you will be impressed, you will tell your friends about how great your vehicle looks and you will become a return customer. Read on to learn from my experience and know why I am writing an extended review. I am a social worker who works hard for a modest salary, so when I decided to invest in a detail for my daily-drive-truck I spent a few weeks on Internet & Yelp learning and asking about what makes an auto detail great. A proper auto detail includes: * Thorough wash - removing dust, dirt, tar, tree sap - then, * 'Claying the paint'-the most important step of a proper detail - auto clay...it removes tiny particles of oxidation, rock, pollution residue, sand, dust embedded in paint and leaves the original factory paint and nothing else. * Next - polish the paint - this is where factory original color/brilliance 'comes out' or 'pops'. * Next step is to apply a sealant to the polish so it will withstand the harmful effects of AZ sun (oxidation) * Finally comes the wax/buff. When I first spoke with Brent on the phone, I asked about his background in auto detailing. He began detailing at age 16 as a high-school job for San Diego auto dealership. He worked his way up, started his own gig, and through hard work for the last 13 years he has built a solid reputation as a top-quality auto detailer among all sorts of collectors, enthusiasts, athletes, high-paying execs and even little guys like me. He moved with his fiancé to Phoenix a year ago because she was promoted in her company. I gave Brent a brief overview of my truck, what it looks like - rock chips in hood, scratch on rear door, black plastic fading, etc. I asked what he felt would be best to restore the 'look' --keep in mind, I had no idea it was possible to restore the paint to better than the original factory condition; I just expected a proper wax/buff that shined. I mentioned claying the paint - Brent proceeded to explain the importance of claying as the most time consuming and important part of a proper detail. He mentioned that many other detailers (especially the car dealers) neglect this step due to the amount of time it takes to clay a vehicle. FYI - Brent spent 2 full hours claying my truck. After another 40 minutes talking about the detail and chip repair (which Brent does not do himself, but he checked around to find a quality contact ), I asked his rate...it was reasonable and we agreed to have the detail completed on Friday, Feb 6, 2015. Brent arrived promptly at 10 am. He has a firm hand-shake, looks you in the eye and is not rushed to answer additional questions. Again I asked the detail process as we reviewed my vehicle and he showed me his materials and equipment. Brent worked on my truck for more than 9 hours. My mother and grandmother were around the house and informed me that he worked the whole day...so hard was he working that they made him take a lunch break. Grandma even made some cupcakes. When I arrived at 7 pm, it was after sundown, but the truck looked great. Brent again walked me around the truck, showing the difficult spots and providing me with tips on keeping the look in the AZ sun. He mentioned that I would be even more impressed when I saw the truck in the daylight. The next day, sure enough, the truck looked even better...the color was visibly deeper and brighter. The finish is so glassy smooth that it feels kinda weird to run my hand along the side while I drive. Other impressive notes: - the door jams were as clean as the exterior, all the weather stripping marks were gone and reconditioned. - Brent did a minor interior detail, but it was still thorough and looked as clean as when I purchased the vehicle. - The black trim was restored, especially back bumper, lower windshield jam, and all black trim. - To maintain the awesome condition and look of truck: simply wax every 3 months and have Brent detail 1x/year. This will keep my vehicle looking factory new and I will not have to worry about the exterior looking like it has been unprotected in the AZ sun. As of this writing - three of my pals/colleagues have seen the truck in person and asked for Brent's contact info. In conclusion - Brent is the real deal - he knows how to provide a proper detail and will customize his work to any level of service you require. Rest assured you will enjoy working with Brent and every aspect of having your vehicle detailed.
