**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more As of this review, there are three kava bars located in south Brevard county, specifically in Palm Bay, FL: Kraken Kava Bar, Nocturne Teas, and Kalea Kava Bar. To further expand my kava horizons, I decided to go north and check out the other kava bars in my county. Simply because this kava bar is also owned by the same people who own Kraken Kava, I wanted to check out Pau Hana first. I will say their kava is a little better than the average, especially compared to certain locales in Historic Downtown Melbourne, but what I love the most is the ambiance and the fact I made some new kava community friends here, too. Though an address is provided, Pau Hana is located in Metro West, the strip mall that also home to the iconic card, board, and tabletop game store, Get Your Fun On, and the best sushi restaurant in all of Brevard County, Umami. Pau Hana is along the eastside of the strip mall just south of the gym. Just like most kava bars I have been to, it is a small-ish space, but what stood out first was the ambiance. Since kava originates from Pacific island nations, especially its believed origin of Vanuatu, many kava bars seem to opt for a stereotypical pacific islander vibe. Pau Hana, though the name is Hawaiian for "Finished Word," the interior seems more like a secret garden. The interior has flora arrangements, flowered vines, and a color scheme that matches the aforementioned secret garden theme, but it is not overly stereotypical of Pacific Island nations. There are also swinging chairs hanging from the ceiling, which I am unsure require a weight limit notice. I assume anyone can sit, but if you weigh more than 350 pounds, you may want to reconsider any thoughts on sitting in those said chairs. There is also a pool table in the back for those who would enjoy a game of 8-Ball, 9-Ball, One Pocket, or Cutthroat. I loved the drink menu they provided here, especially the kava mocktails. The two I had during my visits were the Horchata Kava and the Dirty Chai. The former is a kava mocktail that consists with your choice kava, oatmilk, cinnamon, vanilla and a garnish of a vanilla stick. The latter is your choice of kava, chai tea, vanilla, and your choice of creamer. I had it once with Irish cream and another time with hazelnut. Both were good. And speaking of kava mocktails, I have to give my regards to Eloise as she's been the kavatender every time I been to Pau Hana. Does an excellent job making my cocktails, but doesn't really have time to converse as every time I am there, the bar is somewhat packed. Ultimately, I am going to give Pau Hana a four-out-of-five star rating for its ambiance, its menu, and the fact my circile of kava community friends grew there. If the bar continues to be consistent in their service, environment, and menu, I will grant them their fifth star in an updated review.

There's also a pool table and some fun swinging chairs near the entrance that make the place super inviting. Eloise was my Kava tender and she was the absolute sweetest--super welcoming and kind. I tried 2x Original Kava Shells and 1x Kava Chai, and everything was smooth, balanced, and relaxing. Eloise made the whole experience even better with her friendly energy and helpful recommendations. Definitely a great spot to unwind--I'll be back!

I ordered the popcorn chicken (LOVE five spice), edamame, and the strawberry shortcake milk tea. All were so yummy. Experience: it was a Saturday at 2:00 and we decided to stop for some Boba tea…read more I have seen this place everyday driving into my neighborhood and have always wanted to stop. Facility: They are located on the end of a strip mall. It's a small place that's best for takeout. Theu have 11 chairs that can sit at a small counter, and a small bench for waiting and set up for a cute photo op. Service: The gentleman that helped up was very nice and made us feel very appreciated. He did tell us after we ordered that there was more flavors of Boba on the QR code menu... kind of felt like he should have told us before. Otherwise, excellent customer service!! Food: We ordered Boba tea and it was yum!! They had the cutest cups they serve them in too!! The cups are leakproof until you break the seal to drink your boba... so great for takeout as no chance to spill when you're traveling. I got mango tea with raspberry popping boba and we also got strawberry tea with passion fruit popping boba. Both weee delicious!! We ordered some gyoza, and a bento box with steak. I really like it was on a bed of cabbage. The steak was good, but very small serving of meat. I really enjoyed the cabbage under the steak. Also, we liked the gyoza and California roll were good. And I have to give accolades for the eggroll... for the texture people, the inside is a little mushy, but the flavor was sooo good. I really enjoyed it as it's so hard to find decent eggroll/spring roll around town. Overall: we loved this little spot. We will be back!!! I live I have Boba so close to my house!!!! Now only if they delivered, so I could get it on those lazy days.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Being a gym rat - one who is upgrading from a big power lifter to a svette body building for everyday life (so no shows are anything like that) - I am always on the lookout for a good place for a protein shake. My "Go-To" at times, if I want to be lazy, is either Tropical Smoothie Cafe or even Wawa. However, I get some excellent suggestions from my fellow Yelp Elites, or even my closest friends. With that in mind, my close friend, Paula, told me about a new smoothie/coffee/health bar location she passes by every time she goes to work called Mermazing Nutrition. Since I take creedence to her suggestions and it is a smoothie place, I had to check it out. Paula, thank you for the suggestion because Mermazing Nutrition (which I will shorthand to simply Mermazing for the remainder of this review) is overall, in general, an amazing business with an amazing owner/operator running it. Though an address is given, I must stress more details on its location as many people might miss it. It is located on Babcock St., on the west side of the street and just north of Tropical Smoothie Cafe in between Fay Blvd. and Hibiscus Blvd. If it further helps, it is next door to Jimmy John's. The locale itself is kinda smallish, but I discern most people come in to get their orders and be on their way moreso than stay. However, it being smallish means it is cozy, and the cozy atmosphere is kinda simplistic with splashes of personality which includes the picture background which has become a popular trend amongst businesses, especially restaurants, as of late. There are a couple of tables and chairs for those who choose to sit in and enjoy what Mermazing has to offer, and there is a long, leather (?) couch people can sit on, too. As for the menu, what I saw were mutliple variations of smoothies and teas. I didn't see any food options, so take note of that as you come here. They have a normal range of protein shakes, iced coffees, and loaded teas. The standouts are their specialty menu which are drinks specified by Mermazing. They also have unique names like "Daisy Dukes," "Yellowstone," "Pretty n' Pink," and "Snakebite." You'll have to ask what each shake has to specifically offer though. The Extreme Rebuild is an amazing post-workout shake that includes almost 40 grams of whey protein, BCAAs, and L-glutamine. Finally, the "Kitchen Sink" literally has all the supplements you can add to any smoothie, in the smoothie. So imagine a smoothie with all the add-on ingredients and vitamins you can add. That is it. Would be cool if they served the drink in-house with a miniature kitchen sink, though. Ultimately, patrons have to understand this is a storefront for a representative of Herbalife. Julann is your local representative for Herbalife, which I will admit is a great product, but there are others out there that may or may not be good or better for you. What I like about Julann is that she doesn't "bully sell" Herbalife, mocking or insulting other options. She does her best to promote Herbalife, concentrating on that compared to belittling the competition. So overall, I am very impressed with Mermazing. True the price might be higher compared to a Wawa, but for a local business, it is actually really good and fair. The lack of food might be seen as an issue, but Mermazing doesn't try to promote or push that it sells such. Besides, anyone wanting food can stop by the Jimmy John's next door or go elsewhere. That is not what Mermazing promotes or offers. I will give Mermazing an overall score of four out of five stars. If I return a couple more times and they are just as good or even better, I will definitely give them their fifth star for consistency.
