We went last night 2/27/2026 and it was very festive! The great weather yesterday really made it a tee shirt and shorts event. Basically your typical street fair but a greater percentage of the booths are food vendors so you have a tremendous selection of culinary delights to pick from. In addition, many of the the Irving street restaurants are open as well. People having a great time with carnival games, mahjong, live entertainment, martial art demonstrations, chinese dancing, musical artists so much going on. We arrived early to grab a near by parking spot. Many cars circling the neighborhood looking for parking and rush hour traffic. Plan accordingly folks. I have to say I enjoyed this more than regular street fairs!

The Sunset Night Market in the Outer Sunset (Irving Street from 20th to 25th Avenue) was the perfect evening -- warm weather, clear skies, and even Karl the Fog stayed away. The kickoff on Friday, February 27, 2026 (5-10 PM) marked the first of four Sunset Night Markets this year, celebrating Lunar New Year and the Year of the Fire Horse with food, culture, music, and live entertainment. Crowds of all ages filled the streets, creating a lively atmosphere that truly captured the bold spirit of the Fire Horse. I loved seeing the community come together in such a joyful celebration. Vendors lined the street offering everything from food and clothing to candles, hats, and unique finds. Kids' activities and a play area added to the family-friendly vibe, while mahjong tables drew both players and spectators. Dessert spots like Gong and the ever-popular Stinky Tofu stall had long lines of curious (and hungry!) visitors. A true celebration of community -- supporting local businesses and Sunset merchants along Irving Street. Upcoming 2026 dates: June 12, September 25, December 11.

There are lots of festivals during the Summer and Fall in San Francisco. Lots of the festivals happen usually during the day on the weekends but on the weekdays they usually happen in the night time. On an Autumn stroll in the Sunset there is revival of The Sunset Night Market. The Sunset after dark happens on Irving street between 19th Avenue to 26th Avenue on Fridays on the end of the month . There are lots of vendors during the Sunset after dark. There were clothing and jewelry vendors and lots of food vendors. The Sunset Night Market is good because Irving street already has good restaurants and the street vendors bring other types of food which aren't available on Irving. It was pretty warm after 6pm and I had grab some butterscotch Sundae on Friday night at Mister Softee. It was delicious and a bit sweet because of the butterscotch sauce drip. I also had the gumbo from Gumbo Social which was tasty and had a smokey flavor. There also live music and other spectacles. One of the funnest street festivals in San Francisco. It's located a few blocks from a San Francisco "landmark"called "Golden Gate Park "there is an adventure to "embark" at "Sunset after dark " Although the recall election in the Sunset in San Francisco was "controversial "this is in person event and not "virtual "you can get a soft serve ice cream at Mister Softee and grab some gumbo from vendors like "Gumbo Social" or go to the restaurants and stores on Irving street zoned " commercial "

Glad to see Sunset Night Market return for the Big 26! I went around 5 pm while the sun was still out and stayed till 8pm and man it was became elbow to elbow as it get darker. Very fun , got to see the SF Mayor again and its always a great to him at the local events. Plenty of stalls and trucks with food, clothing, etc. Always great to return to Irving st!

We had another night market on Irving Street and it was bustling with people - most looking for food. I smelled a distinct whiff of stinky tofu and Lo and behold, there's a stall that sells it! Granted it's 5 times the cost of one portion if bought in Taiwan but let's call it 'import tax.' I'm just happy to eat something that truly reminds me of a Taiwan night market! The line was long but I ended up chatting with someone in line who used to live nearby, and we moved to order fairly quickly. If you haven't tried it, I dare you to take a bite!

I went last year with some coworkers and had a great time, so when some suggested going again this year I happily agreed. This year's iteration spans more streets than last year's, and included more activities and performances. Some of us took a picture with Martin Yan last year, and he was here again signing cookbooks and taking pictures. We split up and bought different things to try, which I think is the best strategy for these events. We shared these items: Beef and lamb momos (Nepalese dumplings) Eggettes (original & green tea) Lamb skewers Lumpia Popcorn chicken Pork skewers Ube turon My favorite bite of the night were the Ube turon from Street Stix! They were super crispy and filled with banana and jackfruit. Not only was the ube sauce pretty to look at, but it added a nice flavor. *Verdict: Great way to spend a Friday evening and would definitely come back again!

    Martin Yan welcomed the crowd!

This was the first of many more to come if the organizers get their wishes. Lots of different food vendors, some vendors selling items, and lots of games for the kids. Entertainment was happening in a couple of different places, but it was hard to see because it was so crowded. I think all the merchants on Irving Street benefited from having the crowd there; lines were at each restaurant, boba shop, and bakery's doors. Very enthusiastic and friendly crowd, so this premier night market has to be deemed a success! We'll see what happens if they hold them every month as the organizers suggested!

They made the pancake from a frozen disc, which took about 30 minutes (at the time it was pretty dead, so quite a long wait). The result was a gooey, undercooked mess that included an egg that was fried in old oil. After a couple hours, my stomach had a horrible reaction that I'm still recovering from. Avoid!!

Good variety of Japanese takeaway food in eco-friendly food containers. Usually a wait since orders are cooked to order. My favorite is the OKONOMIYAKI with seafood! An eggy pancake of seafood drizzled w/sauce, Mayo and an optional pan-fried egg on top. They also ask a beef one but the seafood okonomiyaki is very satisfying. Think a lot of people have discovered okonomiyaki b/c lately they're sold out by the time I get there :-( So when there's No Okonomiyaki I turn to the OMURICE, an omelet filled with seasoned rice w/bits of chicken, generously drizzled with ketchup. Great satisfying bites for breakfast or lunch! They Also offer a OMUSOBA. Similar to the Omurice but filled with noodles instead. Hard to get away from the Omurice lol! Also will order their CHICKEN YAKISOBA when in The mood for noodles. Finally tried their KAKE UDON, plain udon with broth. Broth was a tad salty but it came together when I added some bok Choi I had bought that day. Really liked The SWEET FRIED TOFU W/UDON. A new fav! Hard for me to get over my favs but Their other specialties are beef tempura udon, chicken Katsu over rice, korokke (croquette), onigiri, to name a few. They have locations at the farmers markets at Daly City, Clement Street, Foster City to name a few. See you there!

What's better than the ocean/beach and tacos?!?…read more I've been a super fan of Leo's tacos since my LA days, and when Leo brought one of his food trucks up to the Bay Area, it was inevitable that I would try out the tacos! The Leo's taco truck literally is located in San Francisco/Ocean Beach with a view of the Pacific Ocean. Leo's taco trucks are known in Southern California as THE taco truck for reasonably priced street tacos, that are beyond delicious. The experience at the San Francisco/Ocean Beach taco truck was great. For the most part it mirrors the LA experience, which is exactly what I wanted. It's like having a piece of home. Menu prices are nonexistent so there's no way to determine exactly what you're going to be charged. I ordered two Al pastor tacos, and was charged seven dollars which included tax. I really like that they always include a piece of pineapple with the Al Pastor. The tacos were absolutely yummy. The meat was flavorful, but definitely not as juicy as the LA version. Plus, they don't seem to be as generous with meat at this location as they are in LA. The talk of themselves are not the traditional small street tacos, and yet they're smaller than the traditional sized tacos. They do provide bagged condiments that include sauces and radish. I was super hesitant to try them because of some of the other reviews. Tasty tacos, and if you've ever been to Leo's, and you, in this part of the Bay Area, it's definitely worth a stop.

Upon going up to order, they let me know in advance it may take 15-20 minutes to get the order ready as they made it fresh. I found that super nice of them as I already knew going in it would take some time. I ordered the Veg chili momos because I wanted something fried and covered in sauce. While the sauce didn't keep the momos crispy, the whole dish was still so tasty! Some of the best chili momos I've had in the bay. I didn't think the sauce was overally sweet or spicy, and it went well with the momos and veggies. I'm glad I ordered when I did too because as more people were coming up to order they ran out of the chili sauce! So definitely make sure you get these earlier than later. While waiting for the food I walked around the market and then ended up coming back to wait directly in front of the truck and they kept ensuring me that they're working on my food and when mine was up next. Awesome hospitality for sure!! Can't wait to come and eat it again next time Im at this farmers market.
