Sydney at the front desk recognized me when I came back and she was able to get us a room that minimized the amount of walking to/from as one family member is currently have mobility issues. The rooms are clean, the hotel is quiet, the parking lot is safe, and the breakfast is good. They offer both corn or flower tortillas with breakfast. The indoor pool and jacuzzi are nice to wind down after a long day driving. It is a small town and there aren't a lot of places to eat, but we've all been happy with both Nachos and La Hacienda which are both located near the hotel. The hotel also has some frozen meals available that are very inexpensive if you just want to microwave something quick to eat before heading to sleep. We have stayed here many times over the years and have never had any problems. I think this is the second time I've reviewed them, but we've been stopping here every year or two for what I think is about twenty years now.

Less expensive than other newish options in this town. Popular with truckers. Oh, and there is a very strange smell in the whole building. It made me wonder if the management tried to copy the fashion of luxury hotels that pipe in Le Labo fragrances, and this was some budget version of such. After driving through the nightmare of Albuquerque , New Mexico at night I made it to Edgewood…read more This is the only hotel in town , but it looked better and had better reviews than the next town , Moriarty. I booked using Priceline to save a couple bucks and it was still $152 with taxes and fees. Some of the reviews of the Moriarty places stated about their cars being broken into , so I paid the extra to stay here because my SUV was loaded with my stuff and I had a hitch box on my rear bumper because I was moving from Las Vegas to Oklahoma. The employee that checked me in was very nice and he told me to park by the charging area under the solar panels with the RVs to be the safest area and well lit. There was one RV parked there , but in the morning there was 2 more , one with a boat. I had free breakfast in the morning with a few others and they had an older lady attendant that was making sure everything was stocked up and clean. Nice lady. It was funny the guys behind me mentioned how the eggs tasted like from the Army and me being a Veteran told them I agreed , they tasted like the reconstituted ones we had during maneuvers. The sausage patty was pretty plain so I put some pancake syrup on it , orange juice was watered down , biscuit was pretty good but gravy had some sausage bits but not very flavorful so lots of pepper I had to put on it. They had cereal and yogurt too and a waffle maker. There is also a coffee machine in the lobby 24 hours a day and also have hot tea. There was 2 or 3 computers for guests to use. I used that night for about 15 minutes for something I really couldn't do on my phone which was convenient. The parking lot was clean and well lit and appeared to be in a safe area. I went to the Subway just next door for a sandwich that night and they give you a discount for staying at the hotel , but it was the worst stale Subway sandwich I've ever had ! Now the room , first thing when I walked in the floor was sticky. It looked clean , but they must have mopped over a spilled soda or something. Other than that the beds were clean and made nice and the room looked like a Comfort Inn room with 2 queen beds , mini refrigerator , microwave , coffee pot with coffee and accessories. I got a regular room not a Suite so no couch or living room , but there was a chair. The next morning I took a shower and on the wall in 2 different places was a long black hair , way longer than mine and mine are unfortunately gray , but at 58 I still got more hair than guys I work with that are in there 30's ha ha. The rest of the bathroom was clean and came with some amenities. On the wall of the shower they have mounted body wash , shampoo , and conditioner that were a mint smell. Not bad , but not what I would pick , but hey I'm just traveling. I was on the 2nd floor and the elevator worked , but was a little shaky. All in all it's a pretty decent hotel , but I don't think it's worth $150.00 to stay here. I would say it should be around half the price , $75.00 a night. As I said the only reason I paid this was because I didn't feel safe staying in Moriarty with my vehicle loaded. They also have an indoor pool which I didn't use. I only stayed the one night and then back on the road.

It is nice to stay…read morehere on the way out because it is away from Albuquerque enough to beat rush-hour traffic in the morning. It's basically a safe place to stay. On this trip we were not too pleased. First of all when when we arrived in our room the temperature was 48°. Inside our room! The air conditioner had been removed so many times and repaired that there was no insulation at all on the wall. Wind was blowing through our room. We did use the heater and things were fine after it finally warmed up. Our bed was stained in several spots, one at the end of the bed was definitely blood. We could only use cold water in our sink. They hung a mirror above it that would not allow the hot to turn on. See my photo. The bathtub was also very dirty inside. Parts of the hardware in the shower had what felt like barnacles all over it. Our room did not have a microwave or a refrigerator but did have the cart for them. I'm generally not picky and just want comfortable bed and a safe place to sleep. I felt safe here, but my bed was like sleeping on a stack of bricks. Extremely uncomfortable my husband and I both woke up sore the following day.

The front desk lady was very nice. We booked online for 3 nights and our plans changed and left after two nights. She was under no obligation to give us any money back, but she said she would, so that's pretty nice. We will see if she actually refunds the credit card for one night. It's clean, the TV us small but gets a lot of channels, there is a fridge and microwave in the room. The parking lot is well lit, it's safe, and there is a decent shower with hot water and towels. There is an Arby's across the street and a liquor store a block to the left and a diner a block to the right. What else do you expect for $60 per night? Also, a disturbing number of fireworks outlets? Must be a zoning thing. Anyway, I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
