We came in for a weekday brunch during our visit to Cleveland. Came across this location and was pleasantly surprised. The food was great, but our bartender made us some excellent old-fashioned and espresso martinis! Especially since we were disappointed in our cocktail experience from last night in downtown, we were very happy to have spent our time here :)

Unfortunately our experience wasn't good at Sunset Kitchen. When we were seated we didn't have menus or any silverware. We ordered the exact same thing at the same time, mine came out first which was COLD, I had lamb chops, scrambled eggs, potatoes and fruit (mind you we still don't have silverware) and it was about 15-17 minutes before they brought out my boyfriend's food. I informed our waitress my food was cold and I needed silverware, she took it back but when she brought it back it was still COLD. I asked for cheese in my scrambled eggs and they didn't have any in it. So trying to be considerate and not be that selfish customer I didn't eat my lamb chops and decide to just heat them up when I got home. Well we go home to "heat" them up and we realized it's uncooked. Now that is what did it for me. We paid way too much money for four lamb chops that still needed to be cooked. I could've went to the store and cooked them myself for all this! The vibe is very much club culture the music is too loud to have any conversation without screaming, the DJ plays the same songs over and over, the restaurant itself is very compact, and maybe that just the ceiling being so low but it's tight in there. The only positive thing out of all of this was that our server who didn't give us her name was pleasant. But we will not be back and I highly suggest if you do go don't have any standards set so you won't be completely disappointed like we were.

Being generous giving two stars only because we had a good server. The food was horrible and tasted like it was friend in old oil.

This cocktail bar was able to seat us without a reservation. The drinks were all incredible (do…read morenote that they change their menu up every 2-3 months). This current menu is designed as a DND campaign where you can drink and play with friends through the entire menu. I got the Heretics cocktail which is tequila based and it was herbaceous and delicious.

If I lived in Cleveland, I'm convinced this would be my second home. From the moment we walked in,…read moreeverything about this place felt like it was created with intention -- the service was warm and attentive without being overbearing, the cocktail list was imaginative and playful, and the entire menu was a dream for anyone who loves elevated, creative vegan dining. We started with "snackeries" (adorable baby daiquiris) that set the tone perfectly: fun, clever, and delicious. Each dish that followed was layered with flavor, texture, and thoughtfulness -- the kind of food that makes you slow down and appreciate every bite. Not a single plate disappointed, which is rare even at the best restaurants. This isn't just "good vegan food." It's simply excellent food that happens to be vegan. The atmosphere is moody and intimate in the best way -- dim lighting, stylish interiors, and a hum that makes you feel like you've stumbled onto one of the city's best-kept secrets. The staff only add to that energy, striking the perfect balance between professional and genuinely friendly. And let's not forget one of the most underrated perks: free street parking right outside, which in any city is practically gold. We didn't have a reservation and lucked into seats at the bar (my preferred choice anyway). From that vantage point, we got to watch the bartenders work their magic, and it only enhanced the experience. Their cocktails aren't just drinks -- they're little works of art, and each one felt just as thoughtfully crafted as the food. This is one of those rare places I almost don't want to review because I selfishly want to keep it a secret. It's unique, unforgettable, and already has me planning a return trip to Cleveland just to sit at that bar again. Do yourself a favor: don't miss this gem.

What sets Parnell's aside from other Irish pubs is that it's pretty classy and sophisticated with dim lighting, nice ambiance, Irish charm, and well curated drink menu with more than just beer. By the way, the beer is really good too! I've been to Parnell's for a wide range of occasions - book club, date nights, and even Irish New Year! All very memorable and pleasant experiences! Parnell's is a cozy bar with limited seating including the bar, high tops, a few tables by the windows, and a small room in the back. On weekends the pub gets very lively and busy. On weekdays you'll usually find more room to roam. It's a great destination to spend your whole evening, have some drinks before or after dinner. No food is served here, but there are so many options within the walking distance (neighborhood is safe to walk in day and night). Genuinely you can't go wrong with any surrounding food choices. Many people come here to socialize, have a beer solo, play board games (bring your own), or spend their time at happy hour. Service is always very pleasant and attentive. It's also important to mention that as a single woman I always feel completely safe in this space. Everyone is welcoming and social! The pub is well known for their beer and whiskey. As far as beer, you'll find a variety here - Guinness of course, and local beers - Harp, Butcher & The Brewer, and Fatheads. Tonight I tried The Repeater Euro Lager from the Butcher & The Brewer ($8 + $0.16 credit card surcharge). It was a very smooth lager. I'm not quite a beer connoisseur, but I always felt that beers here are really good. You can also find flights (whiskey, bourbon, etc), wine, gin, vodka, tequila, and rum. Don't overlook their QR menu (found at the bar) with their special drinks. I had mixed drinks here and can attest to the fact that they were very strong, with high quality liquor, and delicious. I mean it's the quality I'd expect at a swanky speakeasy, not a pub. So it's a huge compliment. You can find their menu here: https://www.parnells.pub/drink or scan QR code at the bar. Parking is available at the lot in the back of the building (free). There is also plenty of street parking. Although watch for any posted parking signs. Most importantly, visit Parnell's for Irish NYE! They celebrate NYE during Dublin time (much earlier than NYE). There's a large festive crowd, countdown, and champagne. It's the most festive NYE I've been to, so full of Irish spirit and spirits! You haven't lived until you celebrated Irish NYE! I recommend visiting Parnell's whether for a casual after work pint (especially if you're close to the location at CWRU or the Clinic), a casual date (it might a little loud but you'll have so much fun), a gathering with friends, or really any occasion. My every experience has been very positive, and I know yours will be too!

Good service. Reasonable prices. Clean bar. And... this Cleveland Irish Pub has Malört. Cheers.read more
