Creamy, delicious, and that bread bowl was perfect. My husband got Bourbon Street Pork Tenderloin. The sauce was mildly sweet, with a definitive mild bourbon flavor and came with choice of side, he got creamy mashed potatoes, which were sufficient, and a salad. He said he would order it again, if not for what I got...... And what I got was the most amazing luscious perfectly cooked 16 oz King Cut Ribeye!!! When I tell you it was one of the most delicious steaks I've ever had I'm not exaggerating!! Huge, ordered Pittsburgh Style, meaning seared on the outside, medium rare. I'm still drooling thinking about it. Also with a side baked potato and salad. I encourage you to go here today and get that steak!!! For drinks, I got a delicious "The Sunset" and he got a Dancing Lemontini. The sunset was sweet but amazing. The Lemontini was a little sour but still very good with a sugar rim The atmosphere. It looks in the outside like a bar. But in the inside it's actually a fairly upscale atmosphere but not so much like it's off putting to anyone. Small but well designed. I stopped here for lunch as I was in the area. I sat in the bar side, and wasn't immediately greeted. After a few minutes, the bartender noticed me and asked if I had been helped. She then called the server to come to my table. I decided on the chicken salad sandwich, based on the good reviews. I asked my server which of the sides she'd recommend and she suggested the pasta salad. The sandwich came out on toasted sourdough, which was kind of dry and crumbly. The sandwich and the pasta salad were just ok. The pasta salad had a strong red pepper taste. The server never came over to see how my food was. We usually get lunch here which is always delicious. This time we ordered from the brunch menu and were very disappointed. I ordered home fries with onions. They came out cold and were like rubber. Not sure if they were frozen but they were almost inedible. I also ordered their scones. Not sure where they got them, but they were not like any scone I have ever eaten. Would not recommend. Now to the server...he was not very friendly. After he delivered our food, I realized we did not have utensils and the home fries I ordered were not in the plate. When I found him to say we did not have utensils and he forgot my home fries, I sensed a little attitude. This is the second time we had this same waiter and I guess he is still having a bad day because he had the same attitude today. We will problem go back for lunch but never brunch. Our server, Raleigh, made some recommendations but also said that everything is good so you can't make a bad choice. I totally believe her, just depends on what you are in the mood for. I rarely rate establishments a 5 star but considering that I'm hoping that we get to eat at the Sunset Grill again in the near future, it has to be a 5. The atmosphere was light and fun. The service was steady although the bar was slow. The bar is always crowded so I'm sure the bartenders are working as fast as they can. Not a lot of tables so it's best to make a reservation. Have always loved this place but lately the food quality and service have been slipping a little. Still a fan but hoping it will improve.

We arrived around noon on a Sunday in February. We were greeted promptly, and were allowed to pick our own table. It was fairly busy but there were several tables open. It is deceiving from the exterior, because it's actually a nice ambience with, by gosh, real tablecloths. There is a nice bar area and then a couple of separate areas with tables. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. Service was good and the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. For lunch, my spouse ordered the Sailor sandwich, and I ordered the Cuban. The Sailor came stuffed with pastrami, knockwurst and baby swiss on rye. The Cuban had slow roasted pulled pork, Virginia pit ham, smoked provolone, dill pickles and dijonnaise. Both were tasty but the Sailor was the winner - that knockwurst knocked it out of the park! The french fries were lightly breaded, and they were hot and delicious. Prices are average for the area. I hadn't been here for a long time and should have suspected something when we were able to walk in and get a table immediately. My jambalaya was not exactly what I knew as jambalaya when I lived in Louisiana, it had tomato and peppers, but still was very tasty. The homemade bread was outstanding. I dig this place! It's on the outskirts of town, not far from Short Pump, but well known to the locals. A rather intimate, more formal restaurant in the front, and a more casual, party-vibe in the back by the bar and on the deck. It's the mullet of restaurants. The parking lot gets full on the weekends, especially if they have live music on the deck. People singing and dancing, all having a good time! Inside is a bit more re subdued, recessed lighting, romantic atmosphere. The menu is not too extensive which makes it easy to order, yet there's a nice variety of seafood, steaks, pastas, salads, burgers and sandwiches. We ordered the Willoughby Hot Crab Dip which my table mate devoured!! My hubby had the Cuban, and I'm glad he shared because it was yummy (not as good as my mom's but in the running!), and my daughter and I had the Sunset Burgers - pretty darned satisfying. No complaints about the food. The prices are higher than average here so don't be surprised when you check arrives. But... yep, there's almost always a but... the service was really sad. Not sure if it was our server's first day or what, but there were a string of issues... she must have been in the ozone because she got our orders wrong, dropped dishes, spilled drinks, wasn't attentive and charged us incorrectly. Other tables were neglected as well. This was a shame because this is a really cool spot, not only great for dinner but lunch as well. (3 1/2 Stars, I can't quite bring myself to give the 4th- but maybe on my next visit!) The sub par service may have been a fluke, so I'll come back again and hopefully get a different server. Have enjoyed eating at this restaurant for over a year. But last night, Dec.22, was such a disappointment we may never go back. Service by a teenager was not professional and very curt. She placed the main course across the table so we had to reach across the table to get our dinner. Our table was opposite the kitchen and for the entire dinner 2 teen boys stood by the kitchen door and talked-only as we finished they removed 1 plate! Food was sub par--don't know if this is a real baked potato or not--hard when served and was hard when re-heated at home. Very disappointed. read more

DO NOT WORK HERE. Management is awful, the place is so unsanitary I worked in the kitchen and if you saw how they cooked things you would never eat here yourself. Kicthen manager is an absolute joke has no idea what hes doing. Lisa is however a great manager. the bartenders are lazy af and make you do everything and complain when you don't tip them $.36 when they made 2 drinks for you all day. certain employees are always 30 mins late and come up with the weakest excuses (i got sunburn cant make it in today). They love talking about how much work they do when they dont do anything at all. all in all don't work here especially if your female. Late lunch on a Friday afternoon for a first time visit. We sat inside as it was a hot and humid day and took a table in the bar area. The service was prompt and efficient by the actual bartender. The Virginian sandwich of Smithfield ham and Swiss on grilled rye bread was fresh tasting and very good and finding Smithfield ham in a restaurant is rare. The Reuben sandwich was also very good served hot and fresh and the fries were also hot, fresh and tasty. The only ding was the sweet tea was weak tasting. We will be back to try dinner another day!
