My friend got a dry cappuccino (just means more airy foam as opposed to "wet" apparently!) and said it was just what she was looking for to start the morning. Not a coffee drinker, so I am hardly the most qualified to offer a review, but my husband is a big time fan, and I find myself here at least once a week. His go to order is always an Americano, and as we leave he generally makes the exact same remark: "I don't know why I go anywhere else. This is the best Americano, and it's so cheap!" It IS priced very low compared to pretty much any other coffee shop. Their menu includes other and more creative drinks, not all caffeine-oriented, and I have had a decent hot chocolate here. On the other hand, if you're looking for a snack I would go elsewhere as all they offer in the food arena are some questionable looking Costco muffins. So they haven't made that a priority, but they do carry some locally crafted jewelry, which is kind of sweet. Service is very quick, and the employees are nice, without being overly smiley and friendly. Apparently my husband has come here and forgotten his wallet, and because he's such a regular they served him anyways. So that's excellent customer service, although concerning evidence of his addiction because that means he must go an awful lot! They offer free wifi, and there are always a few groups of people at the various tables and couches. There is seating outdoors, too, offering a broad view of the valley. They are pup friendly, and there are usually at least two or three pups chilling on the patio. They haven't made a great effort at décor or ambiance, but, as sometimes seems to happen when that is the case, it works for them, and the space comes across very much as your relaxed neighborhood hang out, what with the books, games, event notices, and people milling about. Shelby was extremely welcoming! The black iced coffee was exceptional. The flavors were crisp, cooling and refreshing. The flavor was unadulterated and pure. Whatever coffee they use is a wonderful choice figgy and earthy buttery notes with a tang of cacao. The menu was hard to understand. And the most amazing recipes were not available with a Vegan option. I wish there were more Vegan options. I imagine they would sell very well. I know this because they offer quality products and their service feels like instant friendship. Shelby was beyond friendly professional. Beautiful view from the back of the shop and the outdoor seating area. Hippie'ish vibe inside with ample seating, clean, minimal decor with jewelry offerings in a display case. Nice barista at the front, making drinks as quick as you order them. The honey badger was delish as well as the chai of the tiger. The view at this coffee shop is amazing! Indoor and outdoor seating are available. I think it's pet friendly too, only because I saw a couple of water dishes on the patio. Compared to Starbucks, the cups are bigger and cheaper too! There's daily specials and cute celebrity named drinks, but they look really sweet. I got kicked out of the store for wearing flip flops. Apparently she didn't see me wearing it because it was the same color as the table and chairs. This place has great coffee! I love the view from the outdoor patio and enjoy going here when it's not super crowded, but it nearly always is. The staff here are super friendly and accommodating which makes for a nice experience. The crowd that hangs out on the porch can be quite loud and there's lots of smoking. With less smokers at this shop I would visit a lot more often. If this doesn't bother you, then it's the perfect coffee shop! read more

My hot coffee was really watered down. Having said that I like really fresh strong black coffee, so each to his own. It has a really nice back patio outside and view. I found it to have a strange crowd for the location to me, but that it would still be a nice place to study or read a book. read more

Sunset Coffee was introduced to me through my best friend, Vivian. It is located near a VASA fitness center and a few other smaller businesses. The outside of the building looks casual, nothing too eye-catching, but once you walk in, it gives off a relaxed, "cool" vibe. There is artwork on the walls and a huge chalkboard full of options. The tables are usually clean and there are no problems with the bathrooms. The baristas are very nice and friendly and one barista actually knew my usual order for a while because I used to go there all the time. The manager comes to greet me whenever I see him and stays to talk for a little bit. The prices are around $4-$5 for a cup of coffee. Other than coffee, they serve Hot Chocolate and Italian Sodas. The drinks have always been tasty and I haven't ever had a problem with them. I usually go there to study, especially during the school year, but there are all types of people at the coffee shop. There are people who go there to chill, hang with friends, study, and/or finish work-related business. There are seats inside and outside the coffee house. Inside, there are more people who focus on their own thing, but outside, people are usually chilling, talking, or smoking. Sometimes there are dogs in the area, but usually they're outside. The coffee shop is a little loud because of the coffee making and the talking, but I find it great background noise for studying or getting work done. I see acquaintances and friends there all the time from different parts of town and they enjoy coming here as well, so I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a local coffee shop. read more

The staff now isnt like the staff before, which is why I gave it 4 stars. There isnt always consistency in the drinks. The Coffee and drinks are great. This coffee shop is located in the beautiful hills of Sandy, far the heck away from me! Pros: *I'm not bankrupt from visiting this coffee shop twice a day, everyday. *Better than Starbucks by a long stretch. *Great atmosphere, personable employees, and delicious coffee. Cons: *There isn't a shop in pleasant grove. I've only had the opportunity to visit this shop once! The experience was so lovely: sitting on that cushiony, comfortable couch across from my friend. Sipping my bloody Irishman coffee, while he enjoyed his house brew. The sun peaking over the mountains, partially flooding the room in gorgeous sunlight.. *sigh* I can't help but plan an early morning trip 30 minutes north just for coffee. I've been coming here 18 years. Almost everyone who works there is incredible. Whoever the young lady was working today should be fired. Too busy talking to her friends to actually serve customers. I got a cold brew and asked her to refill my water bottle. She handed me my cold brew while she was talking to her friend and completely forgot about my water bottle. Thankfully her coworker saw me standing there for a minute, looking at her in astonishment and at my water bottle, and handed it to me. There are plenty of other coffee shops within a few blocks. Starbucks, Chubby Llama, etc. Don't waste your time here unless it's late or you have a big group and this is your only option. read more

Reading the reviews, I had to make a yelp for this place. Honestly, Sunset is the best shop in Utah, all baristas are genuine people and are all nice. Everyone is friendly, there is not one clique that judges others here. And the new updated interior is amazing. They recently took over the tanning salon next to them and increased the size almost 2 fold so much more interior seating when it's cold. Oh and the coffee is always on par. From how many shops I've been to and hung out at in Utah, they always do the best here. read more

My favorite coffee shop I've been to so far for 3 reasons: 1. The barista is awesome. Our first time at Sunset we were unsure of what to get so she had us explain what we like and then asked if she could surprise us with something random. She made me a damn good latte that wasn't even on the menu. The second visit I decided to ask for another random coffee and she did not fail to make another delicious latte. She is what I believe to be a coffee wizard. There is no other explanation. 2. The shop has an amazing view over the valley. I can imagine that the name holds up well during sunset. 3. The atmosphere is chill. They don't try to be too hipster like most other places. They just have their own vibe going on and it works very well. read more

The only place I will go for my coffee. After my friend bought me my first Frozen Stevie Wonder, I was hooked. The employees (Barista's) are amazing and really nice to talk to. They are very careful with Covid-19, masking up and sanitizing the shop. The only con about the shop is at night when all the "Street Racers" show up and leave trash everywhere and rev their engines and start fights. read more
