My husband and I went to look for an SUV with 4WD, we originally went here to look at the Trax. We walked in, explained how much we wanted to pay for a car and what we wanted in a car. We went after work so it was getting late. We did get helped and we set down a good basis of what we wanted. They asked to come back the next day so we did - and we sat down with our salesman, and got everything approved - just had to find a car. We looked at the Trax, which ended up being too small for us, we looked at some other SUVS and ended up looking at their pre owned selection. They ended up finding us a 2014 Jeep Patriot with EVERYTHING we wanted. Lots of space, 4WD, good gas mileage and it was in excellent shape for being pre-owned. They really went the extra mile to get us into what we wanted and we will definitely be going back when its time for my husband to get a new car. Also, you can't beat the lifetime warranty on their cars. Completely worth it, in my opinion. read more

From the msrp and the deal we got, we couldn't have left any happier. We got an extended warrenty with a great deal from Scott. We purchased our Chevy truck from these folks several years ago. Based on the inconvenience factor, we are changing our servicing dealership to the one in Auburn. Last week we took the truck in for a simple air conditioning service. There are ZERO parking places for customers, whether for buying or servicing. This is an example of success gone bad! IF! you can get into the "parking" lot you reach a dead end, or run into cars being shuffled around so fast, you are bound to be hit. I say, IF, you can get into the parking lot. There are two entrances in. It seems like they are one lane wide. If there is a big truck sitting there, you are not getting in. If you go to the second and there is a big truck sitting there (which is usually the case), you are NOT getting in. If you miss the second one, plan to circle all around Sumner. My husband had to park the truck two blocks away and try to explain to them where they could find it! If you happen to get in, and want to get out, you'd better not want a left turn because it won't happen. There is a little known exit out the back, but you have to circle around and around. Really, these folks have outgrown their lot. I mentioned this to the service people and they all chimed in, "No kidding!" read more

they have "tiny overhead" because they dont check the trucks out before selling them. We have had our truck no more than 6 months and it wont start had to jump it three times in a week. In searching for a used pickup truck at Sunset Chevrolet I have been very disappointed with this dealership. When calling to get some basic information about a truck listed on their website like the price they are asking and is it an extended cab or crew cab (half their used listings do not have photos) I can never get an answer from them. Instead they ask you questions like; what is your budget, or how much are you willing to spend. Two months ago there was a truck I was interested in seeing that they said was on their lot, but after driving to the dealership (3 hours round trip) it was not there. It was on the 3rd trip there that I finally saw the vehicle. The first price that they finally quoted to me was higher than the original 2007 price o f the truck new, and it had over 80,000 miles on it. When I pointed this out they immediately lowered the price $3,000 which was still $4,500 over what Kelly Blue Book listed the truck as in excellent condition buying from a dealer. When this was pointed out to them they produced a sheet with the breakdown of the items and packages that where on the truck. This list was so erroneous that it was a joke. The credit for the lower than average mileage was $1,700 over what KBB said and they added into the list items like leather seats and a few other things that are already included in the base option package. I thought these tactics where very misleading, although it sure looked official on their printed document. I don't think I could trust this dealership to negotiate in good faith. They don't return your calls, won't answer your question that you ask, and are way off in their used pricing. They say they have free lifetime warranty on their used vehicles, but your really paying for it with their inflated used vehicle prices. read more

Since I had previously purchased my other vehicle with the sales person there, and actually knew him personally, I never thought that they would be so shady. We went in there to find out we were either deliberately mislead, or someone doesn't understand what it means when you ask "how much is my payment going to be", conveniently not including sales tax into the figure. Then we were handed off to another salemen, who seemed to have difficulty understanding the concept of sales tax when paying off my trade in. Then they bring out Jason to talk to us, who was a total SOB to my wife and not willing to sit down and listen, just in a hurry to get us to leave. I can only assume because he figured we were not serious about buying, since it probably seemed we were just trying to lowball the heck out of the price, based on having the audacity to try to get at least somewhere close to the price that we were quoted. Meanwhile he's lowballing the offer for my trade by a good $2000 minimum and telling me it's not worth more than that when I had JUST come from another dealership who showed me the figures for what that model year is going for at auction and had their used car manager take a peak at the car and run it around the block. He refused to discuss anything relating to price and just sat there vehemently pointing at the numbers on the piece of paper and acting like we were the dumbest couple of yahoos to disgrace his showroom in quite a long while, meanwhile we hear other sales folks behind us standing in full public view in the middle of the showroom talking smack about a couple of customers that had just left. My entire experience dealing with Sunset had been FANTASTIC, right up to the time we walked in and were handed off to you to talk price. Then the whole ball or yarn came undone. My experience with Sunset Chevrolet went from "best every, would recommend to anyone and everyone who would listen" to "what a bunch of lying, sleazy SOB's" within about 15 minutes of being there. Then they have the nerve to send me a friendly email saying "hey, haven't heard from you, been trying to reach you". Bull. They have my cell phone number and email, and neither of those have shown any sign of you "trying to reach me" for the last couple of weeks. Beyond that, it was less than a week ago we were sitting in your showroom. The other dealership, only about 15 minutes away, had sent me a pleasant email thanking me for stopping by before we even got to your showroom that day, and you send me what appears to be an automated email from a CMS system a week after I left your place more angry than I've been in a long while after being jerked around for a half hour by a bunch of schmucks that can't get their stuff together enough to give me a realistic view of what the payment would look like for a car? I can GUARANTEE that I will NEVER do business with Sunset Chevroley. I'm buying my Volt from that other dealership, they one who was polite and friendly, and flat out told me there's no way they could do the price that Sunset had originally quoted me, but please let them know details on how Sunset pulls it off so they can compete. I'm quite certain they knew Sunsets business model was "BS them into the car", but they were far too polite to say it. I'll deal with the company that DOESN'T lie to me and isn't a rude to my wife. The only dealings I'll have with Sunset in the future is to blast them on any internet review or survey I run across. Rude, underhanded, sleazy, and incompetent. That's how I would refer to this company, and I'll be darned if I'd support you in any way. I'll be driving my new Volt next week, purchased from people that are professionals. read more

We bought our 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 in late November, our first oil change was recently due so I took it back to sunset to get it changed by an ASE Certified mechanic to keep our lifetime powertrain warranty, they didnt tighten my oil drain plug which fell out and toasted our motor. Sunset is replacing it with a used motor and they wont offer to buy the truck back. The sales manager even said " how do i know you didnt pull the drain plug out when you left?" They wont offer any extra warranties or anything and we are stuck paying for a vehicle we cant drive, we bought from them had their mechanics worked on and they were the ones that messed up. I asked if they would buy it back after they install the used motor and they told me no, complete frustration and dissatisfaction. read more

This was the worst experience we've ever had when comes to trying to purchase a vehicle. Went in looking at new trucks when we decided used would be our best bet. Walked over to used lot to meet one guy who gave us a price for a truck and then wondered off and couldn't be found again. Nothing had prices on them. Finally another guy comes up Ricky "suave". Starts out nice, but in the end was down right rude and lost a sale due to his attitude. Told us " look I don't work hourly, I make my money off commission. So I'm only going to make like $200 off this sale. Come on I could really use this sale!" Then when he walked inside to get us a quote he shook his head as if we had made him mad! He was the epitome of a used car sales men. So needless to say we'll be taking our business elsewhere. Oh and he let us know too that he didn't like the color of our truck that we'd be trading in, all because we didn't like the color of a truck he had shown us. read more

In fact we would recommend any other dealership other than Sunset Chevrolet. Upon notifying management of the extremely poor service received from Rich White, management left it in the hands of; you got it; Rich White. I bought a new truck in March. It is now time for my first oil change. I tried twice to make an appointment and was told it would be over a week before they could help me. So I found their website and sent them an email to tell the management about my experience. Toby, one of the sales managers called me back within 20 minutes. He went of his way to make things right. He even gave me a loaner to drive while he had my truck. As it turned out he needed my loaner back on Sunday during the football game. So he sent a salesman to my house with my serviced, washed, and vacuumed truck. What started as a bad experience turned into the best experience I have ever had with a car dealer. I cant say enough nice things about the staff that I have come into contact with, they have all been great. Mark was really nice, Michelle has been great, and Mike the finance was super awesome to work with.... That being said.... I'm really disappointed and feel completely let down with the purchase itself.... I purchased a 2012 dodge duragno. I had to wait a few days for it to go through safety and detail which was fine, but I felt a little pressure having to do the paper work prior to the car being ready. I had in writing that 2 dents would be fixed and only one was. When I asked why I was told that is was more then a little buffing and would prob be about 500 dollars... I still dont understand that one.... Its in writing and now I'm being told its 500 to fix? The morning after I brought the car home i went to start it with my husband standing outside and he just started shaking his head with an " I told you so smile on his face"... He told me there was an exhaust leak and I needed to take it back for repairs. Now 2 weeks after getting the exhaust fixed my check engine light came on... Error code P0113 tells me I have a temp intake issue. something along with the exhaust my husband feels shouldn't have been over looked at the time of the safety inspection. I have 2 young kids in car seats and its a pain in the butt having to take them in and out of loaner cars to fix my car that I haven't even had a month. I've had to schedule to take work off early twice now to make these early repairs and its just frustrating. My husband was against my wanting this car for the beginning but wouldn't give me a real reason why so I went a head with the purchase. Now I'm getting the "I told you so" from my husband. I do thank the staff for doing whatever they can to help me but I just really dont feel I should have to be going out of my way when I haven't had the car that long. On Monday the sixteenth I saw an ad on craigslist for a Toyota Truck, in 2008 my wife and I declared bankruptcy and for the last nine and a half years we have either paid cash or went without. In September our bankruptcy will be off our credit report, I am self employed inspector and I wanted to upgrade my vehicle for the future I called sunset and talked to Terry, he explained that the truck was not on the lot , it was being detailed, he said I could come back on Wednesday to take a look. I asked him if I could get prequalified to see if I could purchase the truck and what the terms would be, we scheduled a appt for 1:00.We met then and I filled out a basic credit app and he submitted it to his manager, Terry came back and said that they could put the deal together with the payment being about $410 month. He then asked about my wife's loan on a car, I said we don't have any loans, he came back and said the manager made a mistake an ran the wrong credit. He then sent me to the credit , finance guy downstairs. He said he was going to run my credit and should have something that day, but it would probably be tomorrow, he said he would call me, I went upstairs to meet with Terry, he said that he was going to work some magic and we could probably use my 2002 Toyota solara and some cash and I could get the truck..... he said he would call me on Tuesday .......that was the last I heard, it's now 8:00 pm Wednesday night and no word. I know that sunset is spending a lot on advertising, but it makes you wonder if they are cherry picking or they just lack good social skills, the best advertising is word of mouth, having these two people work for you maybe costing you customers and thousands of dollars, maybe sunset needs to do like Starbucks and offer some training for there staff. read more

Tyler- Of course you have absolutely no record, that is the crux of the entire situation. You're not going to admit it & make my case for me. When I showed up the following day your salesman wasn't in, and no one knew anything about the check & photocopy of the negotiation sheet. Seems it's got misplaced as you were closing & everyone in financing was gone. I never stated I ever spoke to Phil, your salesman Scotty referred to him as his brother & that he owned the place. I did however leave numerous messages for Phil to please return my call but never received any calls back. I was just given the run around, he was busy, on another line or not there. Funny the process server was given the exact same run around while attempting to serve your salesman Scotty, only he was told he didn't work there.... funny because when he called prior to showing up they transferred his call?! Since Scotty may or may not work there... I'm pursuing my claim against sunset since you are liable in the end for what happened. You may want to see if your salesman is making a little extra on the side, if he works there that is. Absolutely horrified how this business is run, but I guess lying is ok when it's for family. read more

I never write reviews because I don't really know if they do much good, but if I save just one person from going here then I will feel better! My husband and I recently bought a car from here and were taken advantage of. Our salesman Andy was extremely aggressive and I feel pressured us into things. The day after we bought our car things started going wrong with it- I called to talk to Andy and tell him I wasn't particularly happy and his exact words were "well, you signed a contract." Really, that's how you talk to customers? I've tried to talk to the manager several times but they always brush me off as if I'm not important enough. The one saving grace this place has is there service department- they were extremely helpful and nice! Sadly I am now stuck with a car that I hate driving and only do when I have to, otherwise I wait around to use my husbands car. I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the service I have received. They Definitely will NOT be getting my referrals. We chose to buy here and knowingly pay a little extra because for some reason we were led to believe that this is a reputable place that won't lie to you. We were assured and reassured that the used car we were purchasing would be getting new tires on it. This was a huge concern to me and number one on my list of musts, it's something I asked for several times throughout the deal. When we asked why it wasn't written in the contract I was told it was because they guaranteed the tires to be 60% or better and that they would be replaced anyways. (Reviewing the contract was after 9pm with my two young children with me. This is after I had asked if we could finish the deal the next day because I wanted to make sure the contract was accurate and it was getting late. Then, I was rushed through everything and they wouldn't add the tires to the written deal at that time. Instead of walking out, I made the wrong decision to trust their word.) My tires are at about 30-40% depending which tire you look at and they are Refusing to honor what we were told.... I was actually told that there were new tires put on the vehicle when it was serviced, that was a lie. But hey, they offered to get us a quote on new tires, how wonderful! There is no way I will pay another penny to this dealership. Don't lie to your customers, honor what you say. End of story. Its offensive to be blatantly lied to more than once and then treated poorly after. So very disappointed and offended. The ONLY way they could remedy this is to do the right thing, put the new tires on it that we were told we were getting. So far they have not been willing to do this. We have talked to two managers and the salesman. My last complaint is that they gave me the car so empty on gas that when I filled the tank it took over the tank capacity to get it to full, that's just tacky. Just a quick update! They make a real nice sounding apology in response to my review but they have not returned my calls, they have my number. They are clearly not interested in "getting to the bottom of this"... Potential customers please heed my warning and don't trust a word they say. We were hoping for a much better experience and hoping this place would meet our expectations but unfortunately they did not and are continuing to disappoint us. read more

Terrible Service Department. 9 days in the shop and my truck wasn't fixed after I paid nearly $440 afterwards. I hate to write a review that's negative but unfortunately my experience has left me with no choice. I took my 2012 Silverado in for a check engine light and the transmission shifting hard. I took my truck here as they have a special part of their dealership designated just for the GM truck line so I thought this was the best place to have the work done properly. Unfortunately I was wrong. I was first turned away because I needed an appointment to have it looked at. First off, this is the first time I've ever had to make an appointment for service. Normally you drop it off and they get it to it when they get to it. I had to wait 6 days for an available appointment. When it was finally dropped off, I received no calls or answers for hours and only after calling about 4 times, I was finally able to get ahold of someone instead of a voicemail or simply being hung up on because no one would answer. And all I received was they needed a special tool to get into my transmission to check and see what was wrong. Day after day went by with no answer other than they were still trying to find their tool that they needed. Finally, their tool was found and all I was told was there is nothing wrong and they need to keep it longer to try and figure out the problem. After giving me a loaner car for the weekend, I received a call stating that all my truck needed was a full transmission service and the test drive was fine and it ran better than when I brought it in. I was happy to hear this since I waited 6 days for an appointment and was without my truck for 5 days. As soon as I made the right turn out of their parking lot, my transmission shifted hard from 1st to 2nd gear, the exact problem I was having which caused me to come in in the first place. It's funny because there is another review on here of someone stating they brought their vehicle in and after days go by, they can't seem to find any problem. Seems like a pattern, doesn't it? I feel lied to. Had they actually done a test drive, they would have seen that problem wasn't fixed. You call and half the time receive no answer or when you do, all you can do is leave a message for one of their service advisors and they will never call you back. You constantly have to call them and ask for updates and usually, they have no answers for you. Seems like their service department is a joke. If it's not an oil change, they have to consult a book on how to fix basic stuff like changing a light bulb. Their parking lot is full of other vehicles waiting to be worked on. There must be over 40 cars in the lot. It's a surprise mine didn't get lost. Please save yourself the trouble of going here. The work isn't going to get done properly and you aren't going to receive many answers about their progress unless you constantly hound them for answers. I still have to get my truck fixed and will be taking it to another location. Sunset Chevrolet in Sumner will never have my business again. read more

I have purchased several vehicles from Sunset with my latest being about 5 years ago. We liked the free oil changes for life. The price was the best in the area and our sales person, Lisa Greenwell, treated us great. On one occasion Lisa wasn't in and I had to deal with someone off the floor. It was your typical pushy sales person that everyone thinks of and despises. Acts like your best friend till we start talking money. I even told him up front that we weren't buying from him and I only wanted to view the vehicle until such time as Lisa returned. When she did we had a normal friendly casual treatment. Her concern or care for what WE wanted and what WE were looking for really came through. It wasn't about the sale for her. With sales alone I would rate it about 4 to 4.5. My biggest complaint is the "Service" department. Just try and reach someone in service and talk to them on the phone without them calling you first. Two days ago I called three separate times. I reached the receptionist who kindly sent my call to service each time I called. The first time the phone rang and rang probably in the area of 20-30 times with no answer. I hung up. A little while later I called again. Again I was sent over and again it rang and rang. In my head im screaming "Answer the damn phone!!" Next thing I know someone picks up and I hear talking in the background for half a second before I am immediately put on hold. No one spoke to me but rather instantly shoved on hold. (I spoke with my wife about it and she says she has seen them do it while she was at the service counter). This pisses me off to no end. Take a few seconds and acknowledge the person calling and then put them on hold. Hell, IF you are truly that busy, have the receptionist take my info and call me back later. I totally would have taken that. So i sat on hold for 5 minutes (yes I timed it) and hung up. I called a third time and again was immediately sent to hold. I gave it just over 6 minutes and never had a person acknowledge my call. The next day I called and was sent to service....ring....ring....ring...ring. now answer. I checked the website and verified I had the correct number. While doing that I saw a chat box to speak with someone from Sunset to "see how they could assist me". Not so much. It doesn't work for the service department. The next day I drove down to the service department. While there were people on the phone there were not so many calls that someone couldn't answer or get my info. Half were sitting around waiting on others. The service was average and the cost is average. $160 for a diesel fuel filter change and oil change that took 2 hrs. I wish i could rate better but the service department seems to have gotten worse over the years with regards to customer service. read more

It's difficult to know where to start with how awful an experience we have had at Sunset. We bought a brand new Silverado Memorial Day weekend. It was in transit and supposed to be delivered June 2nd. We got the vehicle the 29th of June. My wife and I had to call and text over and over again to get status updates. No proactive approach was taken to update us. We finally had enough work and asked to speak to the sales manager. He left us a voicemail, and when we tried to call back, we were transferred to someone else's voicemail. No one called us back. This is short version of our horrid experience with the sales department. Now onto the service department. We were supposed to be able to drop the vehicle off during business hours on the fourth of July in order to get a bed liner sprayed. This also took multiple calls to set up. When we got there the gates were closed. Someone behind the gate identified herself as an employee but had no identification, so we waited to make sure she could open the shop to store our vehicle. She stated that it was slow, so they closed early. This week we also have a leak in our tire. I took the vehicle in because the service department said they could look at it quickly. I arrived to the comments of, "could you leave it here for a couple hours?" After explaining the need to get on the road for a family vacation in Oregon, they did look at the tire. They said the tire was fine. It lost air as we were traveling in Oregon. It is now at another dealership awaiting review. We are stranded in Oregon with out of town guests and our toddler. This is by far the worst purchasing experience our family has experienced with any material item. Also, I have the opinion that they don't care about the safety of the vehicles they service either, given our experience with their willingness to hand over a vehicle with a tire problem without diagnosing and resolving the issue. I hate to imagine what would have happened if there were a catastrophic failure of the tire of a vehicle filled with people and a toddler. The expectations are constantly falsely set, the follow up is non existent, service is incomplete, and the products are faulty. Please avoid this place at all costs. read more

My wife and I knew exactly what we wanted and called the dealership (very hard to get a living person on the phone) and after a few days and discussions with the sales person we decided on a truck and a price but they had to get from another dealer. This is where things got a little frustrating for us, we went into finance with a pre-approval from our CU but Sunset thought they could beat it and they did the problem was there was zero communication to us as what was going on (after me calling them 4 or 5 times they told us the finance person that was helping us was out sick and would not be back anytime soon) so after a week or two we finally had more info and a better rate. I guess at the end of the day it was an interest free few weeks for us. Fast forward a month or so and we still did not have plates, I called the dealership and they said they had them and would mail them out that day. They did not. I called back the following week (the same day my temp expired) and sure enough they were still sitting in the same spot. The sales manager was very helpful and had them delivered to my house that is over an hour away. At the end of the day I have the truck I wanted at a better rate them what I expected so I am happy, but do feel like they are not very organized and could use some better business practices. read more

Dishonest and unfair pratices.In Novemeber 2011 I was told "give me your information and we'll see what kind of deal we can word out." I am for out of state so I gave it to the salesmen. I was not happy with the payment or the amount so I passed. Two months later they still had the truck, which was "going to be sold right away if I did not jump on the deal." Another month passes now into Feburay the salesmen calls me with a lower price so I think about it and tell him I do like it. We agree I will come look at it and if I like it it's a go. Unable to get time off of work I did not go to test drive or see the truck. Monday I get a payment due and Sunset charged my credit card for the down payment. I never authriozed this! When I called the salesmen he said you own the truck your problem now. REALLY? I never stepped on to the dealership, seen this truck, or test drove it. Now I own it. Wow! I finally bought a truck after a week of looking for one. I ended up buying it from Sunset Chevrolet because they didn't try to hard pressure me into it and they gave me the best price. It drives me nuts when salesmen try to convince me to buy something just so they can get a commission. I'm pretty sure the sales guys at Sunset make a commssion, but you'd never know it. The guy who helped me was laid back as ever. Sunset was a bit out of the way for me, but I made the drive after several days of haggling with dealers in Puyallup over price. Boy, am I glad I did. We bought a 2012 2500 Crew cab and then 3 months later bought a 2013 mini cooper. We took our truck in to the service center and had some repair work done on it. Ian the service Rep always wrote on our service paper Hand Wash NO Brush. I picked our truck up the next day and all 4 wheels were Damaged.. I showed them to the service Maneger Randy he said that they would take care of the problem.. Needless to say they are LIARS and I would Not recomend anyone Buy Sell Trade to this Company.. There floor Maneger was even saying bad things about us on social medi and he was not even present at any of the meetings or conversations. Shame on this Company. So many people have the view of this business right. THEY ARE FULL OF THEMSELVES. The buying process with them left us feeling sorry we walked onto their car lot, and embarrassed that we really did do business with them. On our first visit we left because the manager couldn't clearly explain how they came up with their price for the truck we wanted, which was more than we thought we should be paying, We were suppose to be getting 17% off of the MSRP, but somehow things just didn't match up.The next time we went, we had been contacted by their internet salesman, since we had looked up vehicles on line. That salesman wasn't in so we got shuffled to another internet salesman who said he doesn't usually deal face to face with people, but he would do what he could for us. Nice of him. They low balled our trade in, even though they extoll that they give the best price on trade ins. We almost left, but we were able to negotiate our trade up. Then they told us they were only making $250 on our sale. Bull, and of course they won't mention the thousands they will make on our trade in. We came to an agreement on a truck and we took a while to sign all the papers and then we still had to wait over a half an hour for them to have our truck ready for us. They did a decent job of explaining how all the buttons work. I just wish they had been better at cleaning the truck up. It was really sunny and warm and we didn't notice until later. After over a month we checked and found out that they hadn't transferred the title of our trade in. State laws states it is to be done within 5 days. They said they had sold the vehicle and that the new owner should be getting it transferred and that it wasn't a big deal anyway and I shouldn't make a big deal out of it. When I asked to talk to a manager I was told that he said it was our responsibility anyway, because once the state started charging the seller a fee to transfer the title, that the dealership no longer did it for the customer. Except we bought our truck during the last we of June, the new state rule didn't take effect until the start of July. We had offered to transfer the title over the internet by phone at the dealership on the day of our sale but the salesman stopped us and said that they would handle it as a customer service. During my call the salesman told us that we had signed a piece of paper saying we would take care of the title transfer. We did not, but they wouldn't check and didn't care, because in their opinion they were right. We don't drive the truck much and we haven't had to go back to have a service yet, but I'm not looking forward to dealing with them. AND TO LET YOU KNOW, although it says that a $150 document fee MAY be added to the price of the vehicle, in their case, it is, THERE WILL BE A $150 document fee added. NO negotiation, the owner won't allow it, regardless of how the law states it, just like the title transfer. Arrogant, but now we have to deal with them, because we want to get the services we are paying for and I'm hopeful they can fulfill their end of that agreement without too much attitude. So at this point I would not recommend this dealership or any of their other franchise dealers. And if you go, remember they sell new and used vehicles, but they are basically used car salesmen. We had found a used 2013 Tahoe online, which we thought was priced in the market average and appeared to be in good shape. We live more than 120 miles away from the dealership, so we began to email with a salesman (Paul Armstrong). We passed our trade-in info and further information on the Tahoe back and forth and we were given a "starting" OUT-THE-DOOR price for the Tahoe. We felt it was a reasonably conservative but fair number and justified the trip south to drive the Tahoe and discuss further. Unfortunately, when we arrived Paul was not working that day so we began working with another salesman, who also appeared to be very helpful and accommodating. We drove the Tahoe and everything looked good, it drove well, and hit all of our needs. The only issue was that the mileage on the vehicle was nearly 5000 more than what was listed online. When it came time to discuss numbers, not only did they back track on the offer I had received on our trade ($1000), but they were unwilling to budge on the list price of the vehicle, even with the mileage discrepancy, and past email correspondence. When we gave them our 'max' budget (within $300 of the emailed OUT-THE-DOOR price) the sales manager (Shawn Kennedy) proceeded to tell us we were "wasting his time" and "you just need to get out", he then grabbed all the paperwork off the desk, crumpled it up, threw it in the trash, and walked away, leaving us sitting at the desk... I was dumbfounded. Never have I been treated like that at a car dealership, or anywhere in the business world for that matter. There are times when the numbers just don't work for both parties, and the typical response is to say, "I'm sorry, that number just doesn't work for us"... and that would have been acceptable. To make matters worse we had not yet received our keys back for our trade-in vehicle, so we were left to wait in the lobby for another 10-15 minutes while they were tracked down and returned to us. It was an incredibly disappointing end to a long drive/day, and what we felt was a promising family vehicle. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!!!! I have went through three vehicles with this place. I actually had a salesmen said I was wasting his time. Their lifetime warranty is a joke. They sold me a warranty and charged me $1500 extra. I had warranty work done got the vehicle home and there was oil leaking or so I thought. What happened is there was oil on the vehicle they didn't clean up. That was a couple months ago and have the stain on my driveway to prove it. I brought all of these concerns to management and nothing happened. This on a 60,000 dollar truck. This by far the worst experience I have ever had. Also a coworker bought a lifted truck from Sunset and bought an extended warranty and it is having serious problems but they won't cover it because of the lift but it was sold to him like that. So there's probably a reason why they have all the commercials. So no more Chevys for me just got an 2016 f150 with 3.5 ecoboost and couldn't be happier. read more

Absolutely do not buy a vehicle from Sunset Chevrolet. The individuals in sales are great, but you will be severely disappointed once you have to work with their service department. I have had my truck in for service, and almost every visit was a nightmare. 1 visit was an oil change where they also wanted to update my instrument cluster. The technician fried my instrument cluster and I was without my truck for almost 2 weeks. Another visit, I was delayed because my vehicle was blocked in and I couldn't get out. Another visit I noticed my wheel cap was missing and I had to drive all the way back to Sunset to order a replacement cap. The last visit was the final straw. My Silverado was leaking above the drivers side visor. I called to make an appointment, and they needed me to wait 4 or 5 days because they were backed up. The good news was Andy their technician seemed to know exactly what the problem was (XM antennae). When I brought the truck in for service, I was told they would need it for 2 to 3 days. When I asked why, I was told they still have a backup, and in case it wasn't the antennae, they would need time to trouble shoot. I checked my truck in, and was then told it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait for my rental car. 45 minutes later, I went back to the service counter to find the rental car rep chatting with the technicians. I insisted on getting my truck back, and drove away with nothing repaired. I called Gilchrist Chevrolet in Tacoma, and they got me in the next day. What would have taken Sunset Chevrolet 2 to 3 days to fix, took Gilchrist 2 hrs. Gilchrist got my truck right in, fixed the leak around my antennae, performed a recall service on my 4 wheel drive system, and changed my oil in less than 2 hrs. Lifetime oil changes is not worth the pain and frustration of dealing with the Sunset Chevrolet service department. I will pay for the oil changes and take my truck to a true 5 star service department at Gilchrist Chevrolet. read more

How should I start...back in September I took my car to the service center at sunset Chevrolet because it was conveniently close to my work. I had replaced a fuel injector with a friend but my stuttering problem on my 2012 Malibu did not go away. It was time to take it to the "experts". Every time I took the car in (for the same symptoms) they said something different but fixed it under warranty. The final time I took it in, for the same thing, they stated that it must have been the misfiring fuel injector I replaced originally and I should replace it. Well, magically after two months the car has not had any more problems WITHOUT me replacing the fuel injector. After almost 9 months they could not admit that they messed up and secretly fixed the car but to cover their butts they blamed me and my repair. I WISH I COULD GIVE A LOWER SCORE. Terrible place to do business with and don't get me started on the service guy changing how he talks depending on the color of your skin... read more

This was one of the most difficult buying experiences I have ever had. They were pushy and used sleazy sales tactics, to try to get me to buy. I started off with Ariel, who seemed nice and very knowledgeable,but spent a lot of time showing me everything but what I wanted. And when he did finally find me what I wanted the moment negotiations started he checked out and passed me to Zac. Zac He seemed nice too but wasn't listening to me when I spoke about what I wanted and what I could afford. They kept changing the deal, the payment amount, and the interest, even after I bought the vehicle and brought it home. Still saying things they couldn't make happen. After threatening to bring the truck back The deal was finally settled, I was told I would have 90 days no payment and My payment was due 3 weeks after I bought the truck and I was still paying on the vehicle I traded to them because they took so long to pay it off. I will say Zac worked really hard to make the original deal happen,. I left my disabled sons disability tags in my old car I traded, (3 of them total, 2 new ones and one that expires at the end of Mar) and when I called looking for them I only got 2 back not all 3. In the end I didn't trust them,They just talk a lot. I spent a ton of my time driving from Renton to Puyallup, and They are still sending me paperwork via email. Good think I can say I I do Love my new Tahoe she is a Beauty, and I'm getting much better Gas Milege. I love chevy and will always drive Chevy I just won't be buying any Chevy's from them again. read more

First off,I looked at Sunsets website and found three different trucks I was interested in. I called them at the time they opened in the morning and talked to a salesman and told him the 3 I was interested in and wanted to know the price of each one,after rebates,discounts etc. etc. I went in there 8 hours later,met the salesman and again asked the price of each truck. He wouldn't give a straight answer. He sat me down with his sales manager and again I asked the price of each truck and I got the same BS from him as I got from the salesman. I told the manager " you have 2 minutes to tell me the price or I'm walking out the door". Still,he gave me a line of BS. I got up and walked right out the damn door. I later texted the salesman and told him that I've never experienced anything like that in my life. I just wanted to know the prices! He told me I was too demanding and didn't give them enough time Like I said,I called him in the morning and went in 8 hours later! He had all day to figure it out! I'll never go there ever again. In fact,they totally turned me off to buying a new truck! I'll keep my old 2000 Silverado. 194000 miles and still going strong.
