First of all let me start by saying I come from a family who works at GM motors and I know a thing or two about cars. I started looking for a Jeep and I wanted the lifted nice tires going all out kind of Jeep. I looked online and sent an email with in the hour I got a call from Craig who told me he has some on his lot and to come down and see some. Then I got a call from the financial department Duane I told him I don't have the best of credit considering my debt consolidation. He told me well lets see what we can do for you fill out the application for me and I will give you a call back. At this point I was shot down from other dealers saying they couldn't do anything for me so I had the mindset that I was going to be shot down. Duane called me said I got all your info could you come after work today so we can talk about what good news I have for you. After work I went down and met Craig he was very welcoming and a stand up guy. He told me that he would let Duane know I was here and we will get started I said thank you and waited in the lobby. Duane pulled me back was very honest and because of my debt consolidation the Jeep would be out of my price range. I told him where I wanted to be and he said we could look at other cars if you would like. I told him yes so we went and looked at different SUV's like what I was in. Then I found my car 2015 Chevrolet Captiva LTZ I told him I wanted to look into it and he said no problem. We went back into his office and he told me if he wanted to stay close to my payments I would need a co-signer because of my debt consolidation. I told him alright I called my dad and we worked out a deal with Duane and that night I traded in my Chevrolet Equinox and upgraded! Honestly best buying experience not pushy not rude very understanding. Willing to go above and beyond to make sure I was happy plus its also not easy being a women going in to buy a car. Here that didn't matter they wanted me to be happy and stay around my payments I was making. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. I also love the perks of going here lifetime warrantee and life time oil changes I think yes!!!!! I will definitely let my uncles know who work at the GM motors in Michigan! read more

To Ian, Kenny & Tyler, Just visited your dealership for the first time a couple of weeks ago looking at a used Vette. Having bought from dealerships exclusively for the last 22 years (9 cars), I fully understand that sometimes deals don't work out for various reasons, but I also understand unscrupulous tactics and dishonesty, and it was my disappointing experience with your GSM, Jason, that has got me putting fingers to keyboard. This individual tried to get $60k out of me for a car selling for less than $37k. He attempted to justify this by claiming I was tier 6, and, out of the kindness of his heart, 'talked the lender into getting me down to tier 5'. Sorry Jason, I'm a solid tier 4, and my last two car loans (ZERO DOWN and 8.24% & 5.24% rates in 2014 & 2015 respectively) ON THE SAME CREDIT prove that. Jason told me the down would be $6600+ (for 14.99% APR!, 9.9% would have required $11k down!!), but he didn't know that that lender called me the day before and they were OK with $1k down and raised exactly zero red flags about anything, including the loan amount. But here's the final nail that assures I will never bring my business to, or recommend, Sunset as long as Jason is there. First, the amount offered for finance after the $6600+ down, $30k, was claimed by Jason to be at the laughable 14.99%, and the payments were something like $742/72 months. The auto calculators put the payment at less than $700 ($30k, 72 mo's, 9.6% tax, 14.99% APR, $0 down). So not only was my claimed tier way off, but Jason's math seems oddly skewed too. No wonder many consumers lack trust in dealerships. It's because of people like this doing bad business. Well, and it didn't help that Jason hung up on me when he realized I wasn't going to lay down for the $60k. I bought my last three cars from Acura of Seattle, maybe I should stay there, their finance department makes Sunset (and Jason) look like amateurs. If you do go to Sunset and Jason handles your financing, clutch your wallet tightly, do your math before going in, and stick to your guns...even if it gets you hung up on. read more

First let's just say I hate Buying cars. I've always felt the sales person see's "patsy" written on my forehead and really takes me to the cleaners. Was more then SURPRISED and PLEASED by the experience I just had at SUNSET Chevrolet in Sumner Washington. Saleswoman SUPERLATIVE JOY JACKSON made me feel welcome, not like a fool soon to be parted with her money. I had done a lot of research on the kinds of cars I could afford vs what I wanted in a car. JOY JACKSON found me a car that has both. My brand NEW Chevy Cruze sips gas, handles like a dream, has all the bells and whistles I wanted and to make it even more PERFECT, I could AFFORD IT! JOY got the best trade in value with my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan, she got me employee pricing (TILL the END of this MONTH you can also get that discount). PLUS the $1250 for Chevy's Open House and they reduced the price of the Cruze from what was on the sticker. Sunset Chevrolet no COST Life Time Power Train Warranty is Amazing! And FREE oil changes for FOREVER. How can anyone beat that? I would recommend this dealership to anyone who wants to be treated with respect. Who doesn't want to pressure you into buying a car and who listens to your concerns and desires. I would also tell everyone to go to JOY JACKSON because she takes the time to show you how to operate all the 'bells and whistles' in your new car, explains the process in terms that make sense. She even took the time to show me which side of the car the gas tank was on. I know, I know that's a simple thing that I could have figured out standing at the gas pump and looking doltish, but because JOY took that few seconds, I won't have to feel that way. I truly I feel that JOY JACKSON is a woman who really love her job and really enJOYs giving people the right car for the right price. Thank you Sunset Chevrolet in SUMNER for making this a really fun weekend. read more

We have had a great experience with Sunset Chevrolet! We ran across an ad for a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado Truck, we contacted Sunset Chevrolet thru there website, we asked to have a salesperson contact us. With in just a little bit we had a phone call from an Awesome sales person " Blair Patterson". He was very knowledgeable about this vehicle, he went the extra mile to send us the build sheet of the vehicle. Within a short while I had a list of questions concerning the vehicle which included the overall condition. (We live over 70 miles from Sunset Chevrolet) Blair was great. His response was quick and detailed and included a 4 minute You Tube video that he made with all my questions answered which included a full color tour showing us this truck closeup. Once we reviewed all the detail Blair provided we were ready to make the trip as we were very interested. When we arrived Blair had taken the time to make sure there was plenty of fuel for a test drive and brought the truck to an undercover dry area to look over as it was a wet rainy afternoon. It was everything that he had described and more! We decided to purchase the truck! That as well was a very positive experience! We bartered once or twice and the deal was made! While we were completing this transaction Blair did the final delivery preparations including setting up the GPS to our home! We were set! What an awesome experience with Blair and his entire staff! If you are looking for a Chevrolet truck, I would highly recommend the staff and Blair Patterson at Sunset Chevrolet! Thank you guys for an awesome purchasing experience! read more

I rarely take the time to write a review for anything let alone a car dealership....but I couldn't help myself. The experience we had at Sunset was above and beyond. We have been looking for a used newer model Ford Explorer for months now and we ended up at Sunset after being recommended there from a friend. I have always bought my cars out right on craigslist and avoided car dealerships. But decided to try it as we were struggling to find what we wanted and could afford. We were welcomed including my young kids, which we had to take with us...all 3, without feeling like we were being harassed! They were patient and friendly showing us everything they had and giving us other options we hadn't thought of. Meanwhile, they found ways to help entertain the kids as we talked. At one point the dealer gave his phone to our kids to watch a movie while we sat and talked. We are still decide on which car to go with but this experience is definitely part of or deciding process as we feel we could always go back for help if anything happened and be treated the way we were today. Thank you Sunset for changing my mind about what an experience at a car dealership can be. We will be back! read more

My wife and I HATE buying a car. This should not take 6 hours to complete. I had a 10 year old car w/ a loan and an OUTRAGEOUS interest rate. I completed a BK shortly before we decided to see if we could get out from underneath my vehicle. We spoke with other dealers to see what my options were. All the dealers had programs for people who have had a BK but NOT ONE called us back. Then we found Sunset Chevy. They found me a new car ( 2013 ), a payment that I could live with and were extremely helpful and friendly in every way possible. I will definitely go to Sunset when my wife is ready to get rid of her 2009 Focus or in a few years when I am ready to trade in my Chevy. I don't think I can show them enough appreciation. Lastly, I HATE pushy salesman, "what do we have to do to get you in that car today?" "it's only $300 more a month than you're paying now." I have to say Sean S ,our salesman, was easy going, down to earth and very informative. He even came out to the car and setup our Onstar and explained the whole car top to bottom. By they way, the whole process took only a few hours!! read more

I drove home a couple weeks ago in another new vehicle from Sunset chev! We buy a couple vehicles a year from Sunset and want to give a HUGE shout out to them for the amazing job they do! We love Sunset and it's why we've continued to go back. Tyler Foss has taken very good care of us over the years, he has gone over and above the call of duty for me to make sure I get what I want, when I want it. Super convenient for a busy mom on the go. Outside of convenience for our family, their selection is outstanding. If you want it, they have it. They will show you numbers on paper, not blow smoke up your ass with no supporting evidence. Plus, you get free oil changes, car washes and a FREE WARRANTY on every vehicle purchase. New or used! Your not charged for this, it's not rolled into the price, it is a free service provided to you simply for purchasing a car from Sunset. If your looking for a new ride, give sunset a call. Ask for Tyler. You will be pleasantly surprised. My dad did and he drove home in his new truck this morning! read more

This SUMNER dealer continues to post and misrepresent themselves in the SPOKANE craigslist community. When I was searching for a truck there were lots of listings from them that say their location is in Spokane. Liars. When I emailed them they tell me they are not in Spokane (liars) that they are 300 MILES AWAY. Auto shopping is hard enough without having to weed thru all the ads posted on Craigslist to try to figure out what ones you can even really look at that day. I feel this is miscategorizing and misrepresentation. I am spreading the word to everyone I know in Spokane to stay away from this dealer. In an email the salesman Jason totally insulted my intelligience by trying to convince me that using my bank in Spokane would be keeping my money local even though I would be giving it to a dealer in Sumner. Give me a break! Very slimy sales tactics used here. BAIT AND SWITCH PRACTICED HERE, making someone think you are in one area but you are not is a form of bait and switch advertising!!!!!! read more

Best Dealership Ever ! I just want to say thanks to Phil Mitchell and his staff; Bob Fish our salesmen, Tyler the GM, and John - Service Director for stepping up to the plate when the customer needed help. I have purchased vehicles from more dealerships in the past than I can count, but never have I been treated so fair and watched as employee's and staff from the top down, go out of there way for a customer, as they have here at Sunset Chevrolet for me. I purchased a used vehicle here, and like any normal vehicle, it had a few issues after the sale. The difference between Sunset the other dealerships, they truly do care about their customers and concerns after the sale. Many dealers I have used in the past don't even know your name when you come back, especially if you have a problem. Not here at Sunset, the entire staff went out of their way to take care of me and my family after the sale. Thank you so much ! Dave C read more

Amazing buying experience! Will be buying ALL future vehicles from Sunset! We came in looking for a new Malibu. We were quite upside down in our Elantra. The Impala had a 20% rebate which would eat up the negative equity. They gave us an original offer of 10k trade in, and $600 a month. My husband says he was thinking around $400. They come back with 11.5k for trade, and $455 per month. My husband says dine deal. The Impala was the more base model with a 4cyl. They needed to get ours from a storage lot, fill up gas, and detail. So they gave us a demo one with the v6. When we went back to get ours, we tell them we want the v6. They rework the approval, and get us into the LTZ fully loaded with every option including top of the line interior. Bottom line, we got into a brand new car costing 43k sticker price for $600 per month, only 3k down, 3k negative equity in our trade, and we have credit issues! Thanks Sunset! read more

Just purchased a 2014 Chevy Impala for Chad over at Sunset and i can honestly say it was the best car buying experience i have ever had. I started by browsing their website to see if they had what i was after. The site is set up well and very easy to navigate compared to other dealers i looked at. I sent them the info on my trade in and i scheduled a test drive. My experience once at the dealership was nothing short of great! Chad took his time and told us the specifics about each car i was interested in, i test drove 4 models and decided the Impala was the one. No rush, i remember Chad even said something along the lines of "take your time, you don't have to make a decision today". On to financing after that, after a little negotiation on my trade in we had a deal. If you are looking for a new or used car i would recommend Sunset to anyone, the experience was great and i look forward to doing future business with them. read more

Testimonial: We have never had such a wonderful experience purchasing a new vehicle. From the moment we walked into Sunset Chevrolet we never felt pressured. Our Sales Representative, DJ Giefer, is a real keeper. In this day and age it is rare to find such a polite, friendly, out-going, knowledgeable, well dressed young man, who makes you feel totally at ease. Any questions we had, DJ had the answer for us. He went over everything in our new Cruze to ensure we were totally comfortable with it and set up the Bluetooth and helped with setting up On Star, before leaving the dealership. This young man is a definite asset to the dealership. We have already sang his praises and that of Sunset Chevrolet to several people and when our lease is up we will be purchasing our next vehicle from him. Thank you DJ, Rod and Marcy Shadle Spanaway, WA 5/11/2013 read more

I have always heard great things about Sunset Chevrolet. This past week I was able to have my own amazing experience as well. I worked with Justin E. from the start and he was fantastic. He was very nice and polite and most importantly not pushy. He was patient with me and showed me multiple vehicles until we found the right one for me. When it came time to sit down and crunch numbers he fought for me tooth and nail. He got me a better deal than I could have ever imagined. Not to mention that Sunset gives free oil changes for life! I am now the happy owner of a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox LS and I couldn't be more ecstatic! Thank you Justin E., Mike (in the finance department) and the rest of the Sunset team for all of your work and fantastic customer service. I am a customer for life! read more

I recently purchased a chevy spark from Sunset Chevy in Sumner Washington from the on line sales person Justin Eide and Steve Bishop store sales person. I would just like to thank them both for their integrity and honest salesmanship! I had been to some other dealerships in the Tacoma and Puyallup area and I had experienced very poor professionalism. A lot of dishonesty! I was ready to give up car buying until I first spoke to Justin Eide. He found the car for me and quoted me the real price and then Steve Bishop was honest and attentive all the way through the car buying experience. I just wanted to thank them both and will be referring my friends and family to them both at Sunset Chevy in Sumner. Sincerely LaTonda Anglemyer read more

I tried buying a Chevy Colorado from Jet Chevrolet in Federal way. They turned around and started pushing a 2012 Ram on me, saying it was the only thing they could do. I thought I'd not be able to buy a truck at this time, at least not the one I wanted. I decided to give it one more try at Sunset, as a couple of people at work recommended them. I stopped in after work and by 8pm I drove off with my new 2016 Chevy Colorado. Ed the salesman, and Dwayne, the finance guy got this all figured out for me. I'm very happy with the service, the attention to detail, even though my hubby is deployed and papers had to be over nighted to him. Thanks!!! Will absolutely buy from Sunset again! I tell everyone I know to go there :) read more

It's such a long story but basically I felt as if I was taking up time and space. I felt as if the sale of a car was more important than what I needed or wanted. I wasn't listened too nor were promises ever kept. Against my better judgment, I stayed and worked it out for the sale of the car when I should have just left and went somewhere else. The only reason I even stayed was because of Kurt. He made the sale happen because I did eventually get up and leave. I know my experience would have been great had I just stayed and did the sale with Tiana from the beginning but when I came back from thinking it over, it was her day off. read more

We just had the best experience buying a car. We typically hate the entire process of buying a car, and were actually dreading the thought of this purchase. However, our experience at Sunset Chevrolet was so much better than any car purchase we have ever had. From finding the right car, to the negotiations to the financing, everything went better than we could have possibly expected. Jake and Craig found us exactly the car we were looking for at a very fair price. Mike in finance worked to get us exactly the right financing. Everything went better than we could have imagined. We will be return customers. Thank you! read more

Service department is nice, been there too many times in the past 2 years with a new car to know almost all of their names. Prior to buying my car, I should have done more research on Sunset Chevrolet. Very awful management and frankly no integrity in customer satisfaction. I was very alarmed at what the general manager told me about my car and the issues I was having. As a professional myself there is no need for utter disrespect to another human being in the way expressed to me about my car issues. His actions are completely inexcusable and I will never recommend anyone to buy a car for this dealership. read more
