Stopped in for an early lunch with my wife. Small place, seemed like they are a little disorganized. Took several minutes for a server to come to the table. Placed our order and received, sadly, some less than high quality dishes. Our turkey and rice soup was not much more than half of the bowl; it was a weak broth but did have a good amount of turkey and rice. An order of clam strips was fried to a point of destruction. Dark in color, very chewy, a real disappointment. My wife had a turkey sandwich that was fine, except she questioned the choice of bread since no option was given to her. My chef salad was plated nicely and actually had too much ham and turkey! The amount of lettuce was quite small. The blue cheese dressing looked like a blob of rice pudding. It had a mild blue cheese flavor but was far from the best. Overall this was a lackluster effort from the folks at Sunrise Restaurant. We will return again to see if our visit was a one time miss. read more

WORSE SERVICE AND FOOD EVER! I ordered a Greek salad, it came out literally just lettuce n "Greek" dressing !!!! No tomatoes, onion, peppers, olives NOTHING so sad! Service was rushed. We told our server this was our first time here, we'd like to look over menu, she literally came back 10 second later asking for the 3rd time, are ready to order yet ?!? My husbands potatoes were freezer Burt tasting and toast was stale! DONT WASTE UR TIME OR MONEY COMING HERE! Had a great family breakfast with my husband and 2 small children. Pancakes, eggs, biscuits and gravy, home fries, and grits. You name it we tried it and it was delicious!! Great service by Dia (spelling?). Would highly recommend for a good, home cooked breakfast! read more

We are in town for a couple days and decided to try it. We pretty much ordered almost the entire menu because we were that hungry. I ordered a basic breakfast, over easy eggs, home fries, grits, pancake, bacon and toast. and sausage gravy with biscuits. my boyfriend ordered clam strips with fries and country fried steak with eggs and grits. Plus pancake and toast. The grits first off were delicious!! Those were made on point. Pancakes were perfect! Biscuits and gravy was homemade and scrumptious! This was my least favorite Reuben to date. I order it on the rye bread, which came soggy and falling apart. My deli pickle wasn't a deli pickle, it was sweet and sour pickle slices. Would not recommend for a Reuben, I've heard their breakfast was decent. read more

The omelette was amazing, the home fries were like grandmas, and the pancakes were better than Cracker Barrel. Service like a small town diner and food to match it. While there, a customer ordered OJ and they were out. What did they do? They sent someone to buy a jug so their guest could have OJ with breakfast. That's the way it should be. read more

Very average everything. Average gets a 'C'. 2.5 out of 5 stars. Average service, decor, average tasting food if not less. Home fries, no seasoning other than the old grease flavor, egg whites, grease flavor, biscuits and canned gravy.... you're not fooling anyone. Just because your food is cheap, doesn't mean you should skimp on the rest of the fundamentals. The stars come from not doing everything wrong. read more

We intended to go to IHOP but found a very long wait so we check Yelp for a local Diner. Saw the great reviews on Sunrise and came over. As soon as we stepped into the door we were greeted by two people, offered our choice of table, and told about the daily specials. The service was excellent. The servers were friendly. This is one of my favorite go-to places. It's less than a quarter mile from my home and my wife and I come here often. It's not fancy it's just good food cooked the way you want it. Here's an example of what I had for breakfast I actually told him to only give me half the amount of home fries they usually serve. Notice the beautiful peace of ripe watermelon on the plate. This is an example of the care they take with every meal. Eggs are fresh the bacon is crisp and the coffee is good what more could you ask for? read more

Food was good to the taste, bad on the bowels. It's a hole in the wall dinner style place that is more about economy than presentation. The policy on the "bonus program" was a little odd. You get one punch of a ten punch card per ticket. So if you have one ticket for a family of 5 it's the same as a single person who spends $10 or less. Doesn't make much sense to me. This lil restaurant is nothing fancy smancy....but let me tell you...they got the BEST homefries/fried potatoes like we had up North in PA and even have chip beef gravy (SOS). The prices are super cheap and I get a kick out of ppl that go in there and expect the food out in 5 minutes. Ok maybe I'm exaggerating a little but when you walk in you see it is nice and small super super friendly...so come on...I'm sure it's not the HUGE HUGE grills and ovens to cook on. So if you aren't in a hurry and you want really good HOMEMADE food at very reasonable price and extremely friendly atmosphere then Sunrise is where you want to go.
