My husband and I enjoy this place a lot, it's our go-to when I don't feel like cooking or when we just want a quick bite! A local spot with kind of a diner vibe, the food while plentiful is also very tasty! My favorites are the stuffed haddock which has a great seafood stuffing (not just all breading) and the turkey dinner, which is enormous, with all the fixings (enough to bring leftovers home). Most of the specials come with soup or salad, I have to say that all their soups are DELISH!! If you want comfort food that is not only affordable but yummy as well, has quick in & out service, give this place a try! Oh I almost forgot, their rolls are the bomb too! C'mon Mama, You Can do Better! I found my breakfast here to be frustrating. So many things were good but could have been better. The servers were nice and helpful. The restaurant is clean and pleasant. Prices are fair. I try the same 5 items when I visit a breakfast restaurant for the first time. The scrambled eggs were good but should have been fluffier. The ham steak was large and thickly cut but should have been seared more to give it more flavor and reduce the spongy texture. The biscuit was large and fluffy but should have been cut in half and seared on the grill. The French toast was flavorful but a little soggy in the middle. The accompanying syrup was warmed which is a big plus. Finally, the grits, the downfall of many restaurant breakfasts was only OK. The texture was very good, not sloppy or sticky. But they were bland. A lot of butter and salt & pepper helped, but that should have been cooked in the grits. Finally, the coffee was bitter. I might have given Mama's Kitchen 3 stars, but the good effort on some of the dishes and the nice servers and the warm syrup bumped it up to 4. C'mon Mama, I'll visit again some day to see if the improvements have been made. read more

We had excellent service and the food was really hearty and delicious. My husband got the mama special with French toast, some scrambled eggs, thick sausages, and hashbrowns. All the food was good. I got the California omelette, which is bacon, avocado, and tomato. It was huge, but it was also really delicious Cool thing about the spot as well. They do offer other options. For a family diner Mama's Kitchen has a very comprehensive menu. I was told the burgers were exceptional. I ordered the Hangover Burger ($17). It came with 6 ounces of Angus Beef, bacon, an egg (I chose scrambled), avocado, onion, tomato, pickles, lettuce, cheese, Cole slaw, and a huge mound of french fries. All the ingredients were of heroic proportions. My only complaint was the bun couldn't handle the huge amount of ingredients. My 90 yr old mom ordered the Black & Bleu Burger ($12). 6 ounces of Angus Beef, Bleu Cheese crumbles, onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and Cole slaw. I stopped in with my kids for a quick breakfast before heading back home. Mamas has classic breakfast items but also a Greek twist . The staff was pretty friendly and got us seated quickly. It was Mother's Day and the place was packed, but they were able to see us very quickly. I had the avocado toast with eggs and a side of bacon. Avocado toast was decent. I thought the onions would be pickled. They were not so they were a little bit harsh. I had to takeoff a few. My kids had waffles one with chicken the other with bacon. They said that the waffles tasted good and were nice and fluffy. The location was a buzz as it was Mother's Day and there were a lot of people, but I was still able to have a nice conversation with my kids. I would definitely go back. read more

We were seated after a few minutes. Our server Stacy came and got our drink order right away. She was very observant and checked in with us often after our food arrived. She would ask how everything was and if we needed anything. She's been there for 20+ years and she's amazing. She's a hard worker that works very efficiently. Good, not great. Satisfying but not impressive... My husband and I came here for breakfast. I ordered the southern skillet which is hashbrowns, sausage, peppers, onions, eggs and sausage gravy. The hashbrowns were uncooked and the whole dish could benefit from some seasoning. However, the sausage gravy was fantastic and I love how fresh sliced tomatoes are available for a side. This is a pretty standard diner-style restaurant. They have all the usual staples like burgers, chicken strips and breakfast. There are some Greek items on the menu as well as dessert. We got a kid's burger, a large salad and the chicken and waffles. Nothing was write-home good, but everything was average or above. The salad was surprisingly good for this style of restaurant. The chicken and waffles was fine. The chicken strips on top were pretty bland but mixed with syrup and butter on a waffle, who cares? The service was friendly and well above average. Visiting the area, came to this restaurant before an appointment. Glad we did! The server was knowledgeable, polite and seemed a great part of the establishment. Good atmosphere, calm with different variety of people. Poached eggs, were runny, and surprisingly I loved them. Breakfast platter, with biscuits and gravy a friend ordered was perfect for them. The outside of this place is very unassuming but the interior is decorated nicely and it's clean. Staff is really nice here, we had a great waitress and portion sizes are very large. I Do not recommend, our friends took us for dinner, they like it ???? not for us!!! My husband ordered liver and onions it was way over cooked, horrible. I ordered a patty melt the toast was burnt, the burger was so greasy it soaked the toast in grease, the fries tasted like they had been fried in month old grease. I stopped in by myself ordered open face turkey. 2 pieces turkey,2 white bread 1 scoop mash potatoes and gravey. $16.00 plus tax and tip. I added coffee and the total bill was $24.00 for 1 person. This was our first visit and the reason was I had spotted somewhere where they had open face roast beef and turkey sandwiches my favorites so we did get there. We're greeted by a friendly server named Shay. She took excellent care of us by the way went out of her way to make sure we understood the venue and the pricing so we ordered our food. A wife ordered the turkey open face. I opened the order the roast beef we were not disappointed such a large serving. We had to bring some home, but the menu looks so delicious. We decided to bring home supper too, so I brought home the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and a bowl of chicken noodle soup and my wife brought home the Eggplant parmigiana. They actually put the sauce in a separate container for us so the eggplant would not get saturated extremely helpful people but beyond that the food is just amazing. It reminded us of a little restaurant back home in Plant city or Toledo Ohio or wherever you might be from just wonderful atmosphere wonderful people And it won't be long before we'll be back. This morning I made my first trip to Mama's Kitchen. I'm glad I did. This is not my Mama's Kitchen, (she never offered Kielbasa for breakfast). Come to think of it, I've never heard of anyone having Kielbasa for breakfast! Maybe Mike Ditka's mom made him Kielbasa for breakfast. Bottom line, I couldn't pass up this unique opportunity. So of course I ordered: Kielbasa for breakfast, (along with two eggs over-easy, grits, and toast). In short, I received a ton of good food for a reasonable price.
