Sunrise Home Inspections was engaged by my relocation company to do a pre-sale major components inspection on my home in order to make sure there are no material/safety issues. When I received the call to schedule the visit, I was told the inspection would take three hours. Our home is barely over 1000 square feet, single level, and two years old. No attic, no basement, no roof to consider. My wife was certain the inspection would be done in under an hour. To our chagrin, Reid conducted the most thorough inspection we've ever experienced, using all kinds of gadgets to check for moisture/leaks behind the walls, radiation leaking from the microwave, etc. He left no stone unturned and took up almost the entire estimated three hours. He did find a builder defect/error in our electrical panel, but no other major issues, which was comforting to us given how comprehensive he was. I've had several home inspections done in my lifetime and Reid's was by far the most thorough. Highly recommend. read more

Finally got around the home inspection with them before my 1 year home warranty ended. The inspection was very thorough (4 hr home inspection) Reid was great and very friendly. He more than just inspected the house, he troubleshooted and tried to replicate scenarios to find the source of the problem. I brought up my concerns and Reid was able to address them and provided knowledgable tips. Jasmine was the point of contact prior to the home inspection and she was very easy to communicate with. She was on top of her job. She made sure everything was in place prior to the home inspection so there were no hiccups. Overall, very pleased with the experience. If you live in the Hoopili area, I strongly advise you do business with them. If you live elsewhere, I still strongly advise you do business with this company! Thank you Reid and Jasmine! read more

We had a great experience with this home inspection team! Jasmine, who handled the scheduling, was incredibly efficient and responsive -- she got everything arranged quickly and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Reid conducted the inspection, and he was very thorough and professional. He took the time to go over every detail, explained his findings clearly, and made sure we understood everything before wrapping up. He also sent the inspection report promptly and in a very clear, organized format, which made reviewing everything so much easier. Overall, we're very happy with their service -- fast scheduling, detailed inspection, well-presented report, and excellent communication throughout. Reid is a fabulous home inspector. His inspection of the condominium was very thorough. Reid was very thoughtful, courteous, and professional. During the walk through, he clearly communicated his findings. He politely answered all questions. He provided the report on the same day of the inspection. The report was organized well. It communicated the details with pictures and language that was easy to understand. Jasmine, who answers the phone, was also very helpful. Both people are a pleasure to work with. Overall, I am very glad I hired this company to do the inspection. Mahalo Sunrise! read more

My boyfriend and I recently purchased a brand new condo in Kakaako and spent a few years asking our friends and connections for various referrals for a home inspector since we did not know any of our own. I specifically wanted an inspector with experience in these new developments, since I heard it can be a very different process from the regular resale homes. But everyone we spoke to had had some sort of bad experience with their inspector and couldn't refer them to us in good conscience. Before giving up, my boyfriend spent some time searching on Yelp and Google for a random inspector with promising reviews. He came across Reid at Sunrise Home Inspections, and had a good feeling based on his website and reviews that maybe he would be able to help us with our new home. I was so scared at first to book them because we didn't know them through anyone, it was practically a blind hire. But Jasmine was so extremely accommodating-- answering all of my dumb questions, offering fair rates for Reid's services, and even rescheduling several times when our closing date got delayed. All with top notch customer service and quick responses. The little details like follow-up reminders for the inspection day, and letting us know when Reid was on his way, all matter and Jasmine was so on top of that. The inspection itself went fantastic. Even though it was a new build, there were many minor issues with the unit that Reid caught and took thorough photos and notes on. He compiled everything into a digital report, which we were able to access and forward to the construction agency to make repairs on. Not only that, but he spent extra time talking us through what to expect as a first-time home-owner in a high-rise, and even gave us a booklet with more information to guide us through it all. He probably saw how scared we were not knowing what we were doing, and patiently held our hand through the process without us having to ask. I loved the walk-through he gave after his inspection, offering his personal recommendations and tips for us to better maintain our home. On top of that, he was punctual, prepared, and organized. I really feel like he went above and beyond for us even though we probably were not as big of a client for him as other people, which I highly appreciated. I felt like I was treated fairly and with respect, something that is surprisingly hard to find with many professionals these days. And most importantly, I felt like Reid was very honest with us, something that most of my friends said their inspectors fell short on. Good customer service can oftentimes be hard to come by, but it seems to come naturally with Reid and Jasmine. Out of all of the many vendors we had to hire through the home-buying process, I can say with full confidence that Reid and Jasmine were the easiest and best vendors we hired! I'm looking forward to hiring them again in the future and recommending them to everyone I know! read more

Awesome company. I called yesterday, 18 November to make an appointment for a roof inspection and Reid came out this morning. He's very nice and personable. He spent almost an hour checking the roof and access space. While my roof is in good shape he took pictures of some problem areas and advised me on what I should get taken care of. Reid is very knowledgeable and takes his job seriously. I highly recommend Sunrise Home Inspections anytime you need a roof or any type of inspection done. We first met Reid when the buyers of our home used him for their home inspection. We were so impressed with him that when we purchased a condominium, we requested that he conduct an inspection for us. Reid is highly skilled, sees things others overlook, extremely thorough, quick to respond to inspection requests, and very pleasant to deal with. At the end of the inspection he does a walk-through pointing out his findings, and then quickly follows up with a detailed written report which includes photos. The whole process was so efficient that it contributed greatly to a smooth escrow process. We highly recommend Reid & Sunrise. read more

Setting up and scheduling my home inspection was really quick and easy. I like that they use an online portal for many of the customer touch points like reviewing the services to be done, accepting signatures, and taking payments. The full inspection report was available online a few hours after the walkthrough. The report was laid out in an easy to understand format with pictures to go along with every comment. Reid, our home inspector, was very professional and thorough. He explained everything clearly and gave helpful recommendations throughout the walkthrough. Everything on the whole property was inspected. I will definitely come back to Sunrise Home Inspections for future home inspection needs. read more

Reid and Jasmine were very professional and a pleasure to work with. Even though the inspection was for issues to be addressed before our 1 year home warranty expired, Reid was very thorough in his inspection and found several issues that we had not noticed after living in the home for nearly a year. Reid is very thorough and a professional at home inspections. He spent 4 hours performing a home inspection for us on a house that we are looking to buy (3 bd/2 bath single story, single family home). He found issues that some other inspectors might not have even brought up in previous sales. Reid literally went high (onto the roof and attic) and low (checking the cement foundation slab and rain gutter runoff pipe). He took the time to walk us through his findings via FaceTime (as we are not currently on island) and prepared a comprehensive report with over 100+ photos. We definitely feel much better prepared going into escrow and into this new house knowing what we found out from his inspection report. Highly recommended and we will definitely utilize his services for our future home inspection needs! read more

I don't usually write reviews, but given that both my wife and I are happy with the results, I'll start off by saying that Reid from Sunrise Home Inspections deserves some praise! He conducted an inspection of a single-family home in Hawaii Kai that we are currently considering purchasing - even before we were able to meet him in person, the planned scope of inspection services, cost structure and ability to accommodate for our schedule immediately impressed us. While examining our potential new home, Reid was extremely thorough and professional, taking his time to clarify his findings and answering all of our questions - from the roof to the foundation, to the utilities, there was a high level of attention to detail, and importantly, patience (this was especially important, as we are first-time home buyers). Reid also provided a very thorough inspection report within 24 hours of the inspection - the reports were incredibly easy to read and understand and accessible online. My wife and I found the user interface especially intuitive to use, as the problems found and described by Reid were organized by both category (i.e. area of the house, etc.) and urgency (of needing attention/repair). The report is not only helping us make a more informed decision, but also would serve as a great to-do list for our potential home. Purchasing a new home can be scary, and not many houses are perfect - Reid was really able to step up and keep us better informed on what additional work would have to be done, and has allowed us to feel much more at ease in consummating the home purchase. Thank you Reid and everyone at Sunrise Home Inspections! read more

Reid was very easy to get along with and professional. This was our first home inspection and we didn't know what to expect. Even after the schedule changed, Reid was able to accommodate. During the walkthrough, we asked many questions and he was able to provide an answer. The report was completed within one day and this was for an older house so it had some issues. I'm glad to have used this company. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Reid Takara from Sunrise Home Inspections. Truly. This was our first purchase and we were blessed to have been referred to Reid's services. Not only was he was prompt to respond and schedule the inspection, very fairly priced, but Reid was also very very thorough and detailed. It's always daunting doing a purchase from off island, as pictures and virtual walk through's don't always display all the details. Whilst most Home Inspectors may rush through their appointments, Reid provides the most thorough and detailed overview that makes you feel very secure in the works performed. The man is a perfectionist at his craft, and the amount of succinct details and pictures and videos in his final report, highlights this fact. We are very very appreciative to Reid for his expertise and range of knowledge across different key areas of concern in any home. Most definitely highly recommend Reid at Sunrise Homes and we will be referring his services far and wide for years to come. Thank you Reid! Impeccable service. It really was an absolute pleasure to work with you. read more
