I wish the pieces of taffy were a little bit bigger because they're quite small compared to the wrapping so a good amount of the $30 that I spent went toward the weight of the wax paper wrapping but the taffy is great. It's nice to have real homemade taffy and not that Taffy Town stuff that every other candy store buys when it all comes shipped from the same factory in Utah. Service was friendly. They should honestly be handing out samples of the taffy. They asked me if I wanted to try fudge which was alright but on the sweeter side but it's the taffy that was great. At first I only bought a small bag with a few pieces in it just to make sure I liked it, and I loved it. Taffy is soft and flavorful and real.

I chose a blueberry one. It was nice to try the needham (often called "Maine potato candy"), a highly localized and historic chocolate confection native exclusively to Maine. I'm usually not a fan of dark chocolate, but this was very light and rich. One group took advantage of our group discount and bought extra items. Kristin Bingham, co-founder of Dean's Sweets, welcomed us in. Dean's Sweets offers a variety of gourmet Maine chocolate truffles and chocolate gifts. Everything is on display.

My real issue was the price. Those six items, were $29. I know what inflation is but I also know what value is and if they were amazing, I would be fine with the price. They were not. They were somewhere between Ok and horrible so the $30 price was bonkers. I left the mall feeling like I had spent $30 on a claw machine and the only prize dropped was a dirty sock. Flavor and price aside, at least the staff were nice and professional for all 30 of the seconds I was there, which I appreciate because I lost $1 per second during my visit. Do not recommend. I'm obsessed with their maple chapstick and bought 4 more! So nice and great customer service. They had a stand with Maple Iced Coffees and Maple Cinnamon Buns and I think hot coffee and hot chocolate. The coffee is brewed with maple so we got one iced with cream and one iced with cream and shot of maple syrup. The coffee was so flavored with maple already I didn't need the maple shot. It was sooooo good. Of course we bought the bag of coffee (it is Benbow's from Maine). They sell lots of Maine Maple goodies. Maple syrup (obvi) but they have a specialty bourbon barrel version as well that makes a nice gift. Their Maple whoopie pie is prob one of my Top 3 fave whoopies in Maine. We bought other goodies..maple cotton candy, maple fudge (which youcan freeze), maple taffy, maple cream and wax dipped cheeses. All the little stands took cards. During busy events they had local police stopping traffic for you to pull out and direct where to park. They also had 2 Porta potties on site.
