Super Expensive, a lot of the candy in the store didn't look like it was good. Gummies were congealed together, the chocolate covered pretzels were $9 for about 12 of them. Cool looking store though. If I want to pay 15 dollars for a bag of Swedish fish that I can get for 1.50 at the dollar tree up the street I'll go here. read more

Fun candy shop in Main Street OOB. The inside is so cute with lots of fun decorations. You literally could get any candy you want! They have sour candy, chocolates, sweets and pretty much anything you can imagine! Worth a stop if you are in the area. read more

This place will satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. When we finally checked out, we were informed that the chocolate was buy a pound , get a pound of chocolates that day. My daughter had already spent about half an out picking out individual chocolates, but went back and got another pound. At $40/lb, I wouldn't have bought the first pound, but she's an adult, and bought as a special treat for her spouse. I spent about $5 for a little self serve bag of colorfully foil wrapped chocolate shells. Worth the visit! The ambiance was 5 stars, but the chocolate, though good, was not worth the price in this chocolate lover's opinion. read more

This candy store is a dream come true. The options are endless and the people are friendly. Our 3 kids had a magical vacation candy experience but we adults left with a really uneasy feeling after we were charged $104 for some candy. It is absolutely our fault we should have been paying attention to prices but we didn't buy much and quickly spent $104. It felt like we were being taken advantage of because the prices were just too outrageous. We will not be returning unfortunately due to this. The owner admitted he "categorized" our 18 year old nephew and his 18 year old African American friend when he kicked them out of the store for "touching things he shouldn't". The store is bright, colorful, decorated in way that invites kids, teens, adults. So when our nephew touched an arrow on a colorful spinning wheel - below which is a sign that reads to spin to play - he thought it was ok. Rather than tell him not to touch it, he kicked them out of the store. Our nephew was there to spend money, something our large family has done for over 18 years there. And this place is extremely over priced. But we've always gone back. We were in the store with our nephew not 30 seconds before this happened. He saw us together, knew he was with family. When my sister and brother-in-law went back to the store to talk with the owner, he said he doesn't want trouble, he's had trouble before, and he "categorized" the boys so he kicked them out. Our nephew added that the owner also told them the police were outside. The police? For a kid touching a sign? Get a grip, guy! You didn't categorize them - you profiled them! read more

The owner of this candy store screamed at a group of little girls for picking up a piece of candy and then followed them down the street. He continued to call the police, despite seeing that every child (11 and younger) was crying. Will not be returning. read more

Stopped into this candy store during our trip and was happy I did. Much to choose from, candy, homemade caramel corn, chocolates, and even ice cream! Didn't get any candy so can't speak on those, but did get ice cream. Wanted to order a milkshake but due to Covid and staffing shortages, was told they aren't making them this year, totally understandable! Was happy with our ice cream, fresh and yummy! HORRIBLE PLACE TO GO!! The owner actually physically slapped my 18 yr old daughters hand because she picked up a lollipop!! Sounds crazy right?? Well that wasn't the worst part ..after I said something to him about not putting his hands on my daughter he started screaming with a whole store full of people and trying to justify why it was ok for him to hit my daughters hand!! As we were leaving I told him that I was gonna put a bad review on Facebook and he proceeded to start jumping up on things and yelling "Oh oh you are hurting my feelings!!!" All while making faces at us through the window of the store jumping up and down!!! I've never seen a grown man act so childish in my life!!! The prices are RIDICULOUS $36 for a pound of chocolate not even made there and the owner is the most immature and unprofessional man I've ever met in my life!! I dont know how to rate this store.. There are often stores I feel like I get stumped on... its a candy store, they sell candy - you kind of know what to expect right? Is it pricey because its in the tourist area? Yes Is it always busy when you go in? Yes Can you prob get all this candy cheaper somewhere else?? DEF YES! But is it super nostalgic and fun to shop here because I have since as long as I can remember, YES... thats the whole appeal. You can get TONS there. And they have a bigger shop up the street! While staying at Old Orchard Beach we stumbled onto this candy store it was pretty crowed so we figured it was worth trying. they sell pretty much all types of candy and snacks from vintage candies to ice cream and flavored popcorn i had some of their soft serve vanilla and some pistachio ice cream they OK the vanilla wasn't to sweet and the pistachio had plenty of pistachios inside the mix read more

Ok, so the beach and taffy/candy stores go hand in hand right? Well one of the employees at this place (who I can only assume is the owner) takes what would be an average candy shop to the level of a nostalgic, delicious, indulgent piece of heaven. There's a huge selection of candy from your childhood as well as taffy, and truffles of every kind. They also have ice cream and fudge. The employee who went out of her way to welcome us, offer a free piece of taffy of our choice then went on to tempt us with jelly doughnut fudge. I tried to resist, but one longing glance from my husband and we both gave in. The piece of sea salt caramel I sampled was phenomenal. No fake caramel flavor here, just the grit of the sea salt and hint of sweetness. So in summary I left here with more than just 4 different flavored cow tails, I also left satisfied with great service. read more

We visited Dickinson Candy today while on vacation. It was definitely the best candy shop in Old Orchard! We tried them all! The employees were friendly and helpful, especially Brady who helped me find my father's favorite classic candy to bring home as a souvenir! He was awesome and knew his inventory and the store very well! Thank you, Brady! The fudge is delicious and we saw candies we've never even heard of before, along with all the classics and favorites! We stopped to see the beach and see if any shops were open. They were one of the only places open. We were greeted right away and walked around the store with explanations of options. She was great. We bought a few different candies and got ice cream. There is tons of options and very nice inside to walk around. Their blueberry ice cream was very good. read more

Stopped in the other day to get some fudge which is the best I have ever had. I used to be a straight a chocolate fudge guy but the tiger butter is out of this world. The owner was very nice and did me a favor so I figured I would just add to the hundreds of reviews already on here but was surprised to see so few, but excellent reviews. This place is so great especially the one on the hill. I have been coming here for years getting my fudge fix. The store is clean, the people are friendly and the feeling is Willy Wonkerish being in there. After cleaning my condo each week I take a walk on the pier, get a slice of Bill's Pizza, a cup of Pier fries and take a walk up the hill to finish it off with some fudge and a few other goodies. I know this sounds like an OOB advertisement but I have been doing the same thing for as long as I can remember each week. Just finally had some free time to post. read more

I love this store. Each year when we visit it's one of our first stops. From ice cream to popcorn and an extensive bulk candy variety there is something for everyone ( including those who want or need sugar free). The staff is always friendly and helpful. Even when there is a line, because they are staffed appropriately you don't have to wait long. read more

There are a couple of great candy shops in Old Orchard Beach and Dickinson's also has great ice cream. The best candy/ice cream store I have ever seen. There are free samples of 3 types of popcorn and many times samples of taffy or fudge or ice cream. Lots of "heritage" candy that people remember from their childhood (Pixie Stix and Goobers and gummy worms) along with high-quality local chocolates. The place is festively decorated and the staff are always very friendly. The guy that runs the place is usually there making sure that everything is clean and running well. They expanded their ice cream into a new room this year. It's Shains of Maine, which is excellent ice cream. It's a must-see in OOB! (They also have a smaller store down near the pier that I haven't visited.) read more

Best saltwater taffy I've ever had, and the owners encouraged us to try a piece or two. Really friendly and welcoming. My husband and I bought a pound or so of taffy, which we ate slowly over a few weeks, and it never got rock-hard or stuck in our teeth. It stayed soft and delightfully chewy, just like great taffy should. Also free fudge samples! read more

I remember during my last visit that Harbor Candy Shop was a standout, so I decided to stop in and rediscover the shop while exploring the area. Candy shops are pretty synonymous with resort/vacation downs in the United States, so it should come as no surprise that Ogunquit has one. Harbor is one of the better of these shops I've been to - it's large and very well stocked with a variety of sweets. They have a selection of bagged branded products, a wall filled with bulk candy, and a large display case with more artisan chocolates. The location is also prime - right on the main drag in the middle of all the action in Ogunquit. After browsing for a while, I decided to pick up a couple of pieces of loose wrapped chocolate and two of their house branded dark chocolate bars. Everything was good, I could tell the chocolate was high quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more chocolate from them again. While I do think Harbor is a premier confection shop, it's not perfect (nothing is). The prices here are outrageous - I almost couldn't believe what I was reading at times. Does it match the quality? The jury is still out - just be prepared to dish it out. Also, the traffic flow when checking out is confusing, that could use some improvement. Outside of that, though, Harbor Candy Shop was great and worth a stop in when visiting Ogunquit.

I probably would not have come here had it not been for a book I just read ("Was it Something I…read moreSaid?" By Alison Cheperdak) that praised this place. There is a really impressive variety of sweets: chocolate and non chocolate, bars, truffles, gummies, jaw breakers, etc. There is something for everyone (even vegans!). My husband and I tried the Dubai dark chocolate and the strawberry lime prosecco truffles. Goodness, they were good!! The latter was probably the best truffle I ever had! It turns out it is one of the most popular items (I learned this when I came back). Service was better than expected! The teenage girl who helped me was friendly and quick. Stop by for a truffle if you're in this area!
