all the taffies taste like wooden popsicle sticks, this shit is disgusting. The candy is good I love the coconut jelly beans

This place is amazing! All kinds of candy taffy's and treats. Your kids will love it! I went during off-season and picked up my own personalized taffy box. So many great things to choose from including fudge, nostalgic candy, and beverages. it looks like you're in the Willy Wonka factory when you're inside.

Super fun spot on Old Orchard Beach! The old saying "Like a kid in a candy shop" stands true at this place! Bulk candy, gourmet candy, fudge, popcorn, ice cream, old school candy sticks and SO much more! Created a yummy bag of goodies!!

This place will satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. When we finally checked out, we were informed that the chocolate was buy a pound , get a pound of chocolates that day. My daughter had already spent about half an out picking out individual chocolates, but went back and got another pound. At $40/lb, I wouldn't have bought the first pound, but she's an adult, and bought as a special treat for her spouse. I spent about $5 for a little self serve bag of colorfully foil wrapped chocolate shells. Worth the visit! The ambiance was 5 stars, but the chocolate, though good, was not worth the price in this chocolate lover's opinion.

The ONLY candy man in town. Mike is the BEST

Stopped into this candy store during our trip and was happy I did. Much to choose from, candy, homemade caramel corn, chocolates, and even ice cream! Didn't get any candy so can't speak on those, but did get ice cream. Wanted to order a milkshake but due to Covid and staffing shortages, was told they aren't making them this year, totally understandable! Was happy with our ice cream, fresh and yummy! Made locally in Maine. Will definitely be back next year to try the milkshake! ;)

HORRIBLE PLACE TO GO!! The owner actually physically slapped my 18 yr old daughters hand because she picked up a lollipop!! Sounds crazy right?? Well that wasn't the worst part ..after I said something to him about not putting his hands on my daughter he started screaming with a whole store full of people and trying to justify why it was ok for him to hit my daughters hand!! As we were leaving I told him that I was gonna put a bad review on Facebook and he proceeded to start jumping up on things and yelling "Oh oh you are hurting my feelings!!!" All while making faces at us through the window of the store jumping up and down!!! I've never seen a grown man act so childish in my life!!! The prices are RIDICULOUS $36 for a pound of chocolate not even made there and the owner is the most immature and unprofessional man I've ever met in my life!! Anyone visiting old orchard beach DONT GO HERE!!

Some of the best candy in OOB.

They are always so friendly and helpful. Their prices are good and they have a great candy selection. You can even get ice-cream there too. What a great place for the whole family.

“We went in here because we were disappointed that the pier wasn't open yet, and that we needed taffy, and Goldenrod wasn't open.”

It's ridiculously expensive at $20 per pound so I spent over $30 on taffy but it was great. The blueberry, watermelon, and peanut butter were my favorites. Blue raspberry (which is actually pink colored) was also good. I wish the pieces of taffy were a little bit bigger because they're quite small compared to the wrapping so a good amount of the $30 that I spent went toward the weight of the wax paper wrapping but the taffy is great. It's nice to have real homemade taffy and not that Taffy Town stuff that every other candy store buys when it all comes shipped from the same factory in Utah. Service was friendly. They should honestly be handing out samples of the taffy. They asked me if I wanted to try fudge which was alright but on the sweeter side but it's the taffy that was great. At first I only bought a small bag with a few pieces in it just to make sure I liked it, and I loved it. Taffy is soft and flavorful and real.

If you're in the mood for sweet candy, definitely worth stopping in. Be aware tho they are a bit pricey. I was looking for some maine made ites to bring home as gift and I bought locally made blue berry maple jam and a variety of locally made fudge and had small bag of candy and came in at close to $50 and I barely bought anything. Just keep that in mind. Other than the prices, its neat and well stocked. The staff was very nice and even cut the fudge in smaller pieces for me when I asked even tho theyre not supposed to.

What a sweet spot!…read more (Pun intended.) I grew up in a town that had two mom and pop candy stores. It is my full belief that both of them held some kind of magic. It's like it didn't matter how grumpy you were feeling, or what kind of day you were having, or anything like that, because the moment you walked in - regardless of old or young you were - for a moment everything was right in the world. Maybe it's the sensory overload that comes with a candy store: the bright colors, the variety of smells (sugar and chocolate as it's being transformed into something else... like truffles!), the sounds of laughter and machines whirring. Magic, I tell ya. Magic. The Sugar Shack ("designed with fun in mind") is a modern-day version of those old candy shoppes I remember. While the atmosphere inside is stark (very white walls and very plainly decorated), it features the candy first and foremost. And there is candy LITERALLY EVERYWHERE INSIDE. Once you walk in, there are little sand castle buckets available to use as shopping baskets (#suhcute). Tubes and bowls and jars and display after display of every kind of candy you could think of (don't forget the side room where the cash register is for homemade chocolate candies). As my friend and I walked around nostalgic for candies of our youth... suddenly we would see it! The fact that there were little kids running around made it all that much better. If you've got a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and stop here. Even if you don't buy anything, you'll walk away feeling younger and happier!

Over priced but donuts were good. We didn't realize they would be mini but whatever. Wouldn't…read morereturn but thank you for breakfast!

During my recent trip to Maine, I decided to pass through Ogunquit since it had been many years…read moresince my last visit. I remember during my last visit that Harbor Candy Shop was a standout, so I decided to stop in and rediscover the shop while exploring the area. Candy shops are pretty synonymous with resort/vacation downs in the United States, so it should come as no surprise that Ogunquit has one. Harbor is one of the better of these shops I've been to - it's large and very well stocked with a variety of sweets. They have a selection of bagged branded products, a wall filled with bulk candy, and a large display case with more artisan chocolates. The location is also prime - right on the main drag in the middle of all the action in Ogunquit. After browsing for a while, I decided to pick up a couple of pieces of loose wrapped chocolate and two of their house branded dark chocolate bars. Everything was good, I could tell the chocolate was high quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy more chocolate from them again. While I do think Harbor is a premier confection shop, it's not perfect (nothing is). The prices here are outrageous - I almost couldn't believe what I was reading at times. Does it match the quality? The jury is still out - just be prepared to dish it out. Also, the traffic flow when checking out is confusing, that could use some improvement. Outside of that, though, Harbor Candy Shop was great and worth a stop in when visiting Ogunquit.

I probably would not have come here had it not been for a book I just read ("Was it Something I…read moreSaid?" By Alison Cheperdak) that praised this place. There is a really impressive variety of sweets: chocolate and non chocolate, bars, truffles, gummies, jaw breakers, etc. There is something for everyone (even vegans!). My husband and I tried the Dubai dark chocolate and the strawberry lime prosecco truffles. Goodness, they were good!! The latter was probably the best truffle I ever had! It turns out it is one of the most popular items (I learned this when I came back). Service was better than expected! The teenage girl who helped me was friendly and quick. Stop by for a truffle if you're in this area!
