Fish and chips and lamb burger
McCall J.

After we closed on the sale of my clients home I took her to this breakfast and lunch cafe next to the house that she is about to buy. Lunch was great and the staff was friendly. I love that she was able to find a place even before move in that she can call a go to spot for breakfast lunch or a glass of wine. The food portions are huge! And it was busy so people must love the food. I will say the fish and chips were heavily breaded and a bit greasy but but my clients lamb burger looked AMAZING!! Next time I'm choosing that for sure

I love everything about sunrise cafe. It feels so local and is just so high quality. They have such great creative drinks, I looooved the strawberry matcha (with fresh strawberries on top!!!) and the berry French toast is a favorite. It's a cozy spot with great friendly service

Veggie Pesto Wrap

Some friends and I had an amazingly tasty lunch at Sunrise Cafe today. The restaurant, tucked just off Mt Rose Hwy, is a local favorite, and the place was packed with people, so we had a small wait. Service was friendly, and the restaurant is cozy and welcoming, with fresh and delicious food. (You really can't go wrong with menu selections.) Today we enjoyed, the Wild Green Enchiladas, the Spinach and Strawberry Salad, and the Veggie Pesto Wrap. Everything was super tasty and I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Mimosa flight

Great breakfast and loved the mimosa flight. I was there on a Saturday and the vibe was busy and friendly which I thought was great because it had that that classic breakfast weekend diner vibe but it is also so much more! Food is fresh and well prepared with a wide menu selection. I will definitely be going back.

This is a chicken club and you can see by my hand next to it just how large it is

Had a lot of breakfast there, but trade it for lunch too and still just as amazing. Extra large portions. Food is always delicious. I got the chicken club and it was ginormous. I had half for lunch and half for dinner.

Chilaquiles Breakfast at Sunrise.

Sunrise Café always has a 5/5 star breakfast. I had my favorite, the Chile Relleno breakfast and as usual, it was absolutely delicious. Also, the Holiday Season makes me crave Café de Olla, so I decided to have some today. Café de Olla is a traditional Mexican coffee made with cinnamon, Piloncillo (unrefined Solid Cane sugar) and other spices. If you have never tried it I highly recommend it, I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the unique flavors. Of course the service at Sunrise is also excellent and the restaurant always feels cozy. I'll say it every time, Sunrise is one of the best, if not the best restaurant for breakfast in Reno.

Good doesn't disappoint. They are honest and explain items on the menu. Drink menu doesn't have prices so you find out at the end. The gal who took our drinks was okay, not as friendly as the waitress. She was attentive and consistent in checking in. French toast was good but my husband's carne asada was delicious! Ambiance is a diner vibe that is cozy and family friendly.

Traditional Eggs Benedict

I just happened to see this restaurant when I was in town. From the moment I walked in everything went perfectly. All the seats seating as well the arranged and the ambience is calm. The food is very well priced and artistically arranged on the plate. I had the eggs Benedict and it was fantastic. I had to stop in again on a different trip and had the same thing and experienced the same wonderful service and food.

Went here on a Sunday for brunch with my friend and what a treat! The place was very busy with patrons but we were greeted with a smile and promptly seated. The ambiance is typical cafe style with a comfortable vibe. We both ordered the mimosa flight/sampler. We were able to choose four different flavors from their expansive list of over ten options, including choices like lavender, hibiscus, pomegranate and guava. The flights were perfectly presented (see pics) and garnished with fresh fruit. Yummy. I think the lavendar was my favorite. I ordered the special that day which was two pork tamales served with two eggs, beans, sour cream and pico de gallo. Delicious! The tamales were generously filled with pork and covered in a tasty green sauce. My friend ordered the chili relleno and she said it was very good Our waitress was friendly and attentive, making for a great experience. We definitely plan to return soon and

Carne asada con huevo
Jonathan M.

Food delicious very well seasoned carne asada, eggs cooked correctly, only downfall was beans and potatoes left a little bit under seasoned, but the protein and the customer service made it easy to overlook the under seasoned sides. Specialty coffees amazing especially the cafe de olla took me back to when I use to live in Ensenada Baja California, sweet, very aromatic, and a slight bitterness made the coffee like traditional Mexican coffee, very desirable. Would recommend coming back and trying their lunch menu since breakfast was so good, not too much light made the ambiance feel more private and homey like you would feel in your abuelitas house.

We love this place and enjoy taking guests. The food is always great and the staff are friendly. Plenty of tables available and I love that they're spaced well. This way you don't feel like you're on top of another group. Very chill place to enjoy a delicious meal.

tuna melt
Jessica F.

Classic breakfasts and lunches served with big portions! I loved my tuna melt, classic bread toasted with generous addition of avocado and melty cheese. Classic good diner type food with big portions, I was so full from lunch I didn't even need dinner. Fries were a little dry but I could tell they are real and not just microwaved frozen fries. I enjoyed my experience at sunrise cafe, great vibe super packed and plenty of people.

What? FOUR STARS? No way!…read more Was walking to a lunch spot we had in mind, but ran into this taqueria and thank goodness we did. It was soooo good, so we came here two days in a row for lunch. Los Gallos covered those two needs perfectly. Located on the main ave across from Circus Circus. Kinda cool pawn shops too but didn't have time to check them out. Walking in, it def has the authentic dinginess that is usually synonymous with authentic tasting food. Lots of handmade signs and pictures of food on the walls. And also lots of pictures from their hometown. It was a Monday afternoon and there were many local Mexican families eating there which is another great sign. Ordering was pretty easy. After doing me best To order in Spanish I realized the lady working there spoke perfect English. Haha. I ordered a shrimp burrito with everything and 3 street tacos all to go. It took a long time for the food to come out. There was a large party order that they were getting ready so I waited a long time. It was so long that I expected them to offer me a free coffee or soda but they didn't. The food finally came and it was a solid 4. The shrimp burrito was tasty and the shrimp was cooked really well. The tacos were good too. I'll def be back next time I'm in Reno.

The tortillas and chips were so good! I'm so bummed that I live out of town otherwise I would come regularly. We came on a Sunday, it was busy- so we needed to wait for a table, only took about 5 to 10 minutes or so to be seated. The service was prompt once we were sat, the staff have really good teamwork. They have a parking lot so it wasn't difficult to find parking and the interior was spacious and clean considering how busy it was. My man ordered an asada burrito and I got the birria combo. I tried a bite of his burrito and I liked that it wasn't extremely salty like a lot of places we've been to. My birria was extremely flavorful, the rice was perfectly fluffy and the beans were on point- I don't usually finish my beans because I'm not a huge fan, but I finished these beans, that's how good they were. They also gave us complementary chips and salsa. The chips were nice, thick and fresh and the salsa wasn't too spicy so everyone is able to enjoy it. 10/10 on the food! We will definitely be back next time we're in town, hopefully it'll be just as good next time.

Given that we are from Jalisco we wanted to try out this location and let me tell you…read more... From the first bite, it's clear this place takes tortas ahogadas seriously. The bread arrives with that perfect crusty exterior and airy interior that holds up beautifully once it's "drowned" in the vibrant, slightly spicy tomato-chile sauce. The pork inside is tender and flavorful, and the balance of acidity, heat, and richness feels fresh rather than heavy. It tastes remarkably close to what you'd find in Jalisco, which makes it feel genuinely authentic rather than a watered-down version for tourists. We also got tacos dorados de papa and those were pretty amazing too. The micheladas and chavelas are just as impressive. They're crisp, well-seasoned, and perfectly chilled, with just the right amount of lime, spice, and salt on the rim. They pair incredibly well with the tortas and make the whole meal feel even more special. On top of the food and drinks, the service really elevates the experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of what they serve, checking in just enough without hovering. Overall, it's a spot that delivers on flavor, authenticity, and hospitality, making it a standout choice for anyone craving great Mexican comfort food. Will definitely be coming back.

But once I tasted it I realized it may be small in size but it is MIGHTY in flavor. Positively delicious. The sauce might be thin but I ended up using a spoon to slurp up every last bit of sauce after the Rellano was finished. So I was NOT at all disappointed in the Rellano. In fact, because I was still hungry I had room for their homemade Flan. I asked for extra sauce if possible. I was very pleased. There are many varieties of flan. I personally prefer a more textured variety that I refer to as Rustic. I would call this variety a very traditional SMOOTH variety. The flavor is wonderful. It was delicious. And NOW I am full and satisfied. This restaurant is at the end of the shopping center. Parking is great. If you find this review helpful please VOTE!
