On the 13th I called and asked if it was finished, she asked when my wedding was and said okay end of week (17th) I called on the 18th, asked, hasn't started it, she said when's your wedding again and said "okay Monday." I got a call saying $180 cash only, stopped in tried the dress on and she did not address anything that required altering and said she didn't like what she did with the bustle so will redo it and make the chest area smaller which is what I needed. Tuesday comes (April 21), I go in she asks if I needed to try on, I said yes went to try it on, I was distraught and the price was no longer $180 it was $253. I paid her and went home to try it on in front of family, we are all basic sewers and understand poor craftsmanship. The dress was ruined and with three days before my wedding (April 25th) I had to find a new dress. I'm not sure how to proceed but would appreciate a contact from Maria. Issues pictured - 1. clearly poorly hand stitched cups that aren't very secure. 2. Visible stitches for bustle, this is a very simple dress that just requires a button maybe. 3. Strings added to the interior are visible written with blue pen. 4. Not pictured because the dress is hugging all the wrong spots, dress was extremely taken in.

I waited over 3 weeks and heard nothing from her so I called and she only said "not ready" so after 5 weeks I finally hear from her that they were ready. What she charged me was insane! $15.00 for each top, more than I paid for each of them from Kohl's, they were just simple pull over t-shirt tops.

As the mother of the bride, there are so many things that you are organizing and getting all the…read morevendors in line for the big event. We just had our daughters wedding this past month and as a very detailed person, I was skeptical on the need for a wedding planner. Then I talked with several of my friends who all said " I wished I would have hired a planner." I was a bit perplexed until I started hearing about gathering everything after the reception...oh, yeah. And how about the pictures after the wedding when you have some people escaping and you keep the bridal party waiting while trying to find that missing groomsman? And how about the details of the rehearsal...oh yeah. And what about all those last minute things..did I really want to be bothered with that vs being with friends and family? So I met with several wedding planners and chose Emily at Blue Fancy. She was absolutely fantastic! From the very beginning she realized I had done a lot to get the wedding in good shape, but there is so much more! Imagine someone calling all your vendors and double checking arrival times and in return, they are going through her for those small details. Always calm, always extremely detailed, she handled even small the small detail for putting a fresh herb in the napkin fold. All the escort cards were ready to go. Watching for presents and cards and gathering them for safe keeping. Getting our florist items ready to return and bridal bouquets saved and ready to go at the end of evening. And much, much more...things I'm sure that I didn't even realize was being done behind the scene. I would say that Blue Fancy was my #1 favorite pick of all the vendors at the wedding. It was a perfect day!

Blue Fancy (BF), unfortunately, did not meet our expectations. I don't think it's necessary to go…read moreinto detail listing all of the things that went poorly, and I, of course, want to give them credit for the things that did go well. Context: we are both from Wisconsin, but are currently living out of state with stressful, time-consuming jobs, which is why we wanted to hire a planner. Our budget was lower than what I'm guessing BF is typically used to working with (less than $60,000), so I'm not sure if that was a factor. We got married in Fond du Lac and most of BF's contacts/experience is in the Milwaukee area. We had a backyard wedding at our family members' homes (a small ceremony at one location and a larger reception at a second location) over a holiday weekend. We hired BF 1.5 years prior to our wedding date leaving plenty of time. Pros: -BF was very helpful with providing structure (a to-do list, timeline) and recommending vendors. -They were insightful when finalizing the rental company contract in terms of backyard wedding details that we would not have thought of. For example, generator needs, water hookups, etc. -Day of set-up. They provided us with 3 team members, which was incredibly helpful with setting up chairs, tables, a few decorations, etc. Cons: -All together, we had a total of 3 planners. Our first planner quit and our second planner had to take a step back due to a serious personal matter. This resulted in poor communication, confusion, and stress. It was often unclear who was taking lead on what and we felt the team did not have the bandwidth to actually manage our wedding. We constantly felt like we had to double-check everything and take care of things ourselves because it was unclear who was doing what and we did not want things to fall through the cracks. Despite this, things did fall through the cracks. For example, we did not finalize our catering contract until 1 month prior to the wedding, which ended up being $8,000 more than we originally agreed because we had no other choice. Additionally, the band that BF recommended pulled out 6 weeks prior our wedding. This was not their fault and they found a replacement within one week, but this was still stressful . -They seemed to take a 'copy and paste' approach as in they just replicated what they did for previous weddings instead of really listening to what was truly important to us. More of a you fit us instead of we fit you. For example, although they provided recommendations for vendors, we ended up having to find some on our own because their recommendations did not align with our preferences/budget. Examples: photographer, videographer, and hair & make-up team. When we mentioned wanting a videographer within a certain budget, we were told this was unrealistic and received no help. We did find a videographer within our budget and he did a great job! So happy we found him. -Poor attention to detail. This was pretty concerning and prevalent throughout the process. A couple of examples: (1) they neglected trash removal and only had solutions for the Milwaukee area when we brought it to their attention. We ended up coming up with a creative solution on our own; (2) at the rehearsal dinner, the lead planner did not know the location of where to tell the hair and make-up team to go the following morning (day of). In sum, we're hoping our experience was abnormal. Nonetheless, we never received an apology, acknowledgment, or a thank you for using their service or any sort of contact after the wedding, which we find unprofessional. We were extremely sympathetic to the series of events that were out of their control, but ultimately, the way it was handled was subpar and the planning process/day of execution was stressful. We wish them the best and hope things are improving.

I have organized eighteen large-scale events at other venues and have never had to deal with the lack of hospitality by an owner like I did at this place. While our families put together a beautiful and memorable event, it was not without a ridiculous amount of stress from the unaccommodating owners. The zero-tolerance policy of outside alcohol was handwritten like a note on the contract after it was already signed. The conversation about outside alcohol was casual and a story about a previous wedding where a keg was brought into the Groom's suite. Had we been told that their liquor license was in jeopardy instead of being disrespectfully yelled at, we could have resolved the issue professionally. The fact that the owners rummaged through personal items, confiscated gifts without our knowledge, constantly monitored every move via the surveillance cameras (there is no sign anywhere that you are being watched/recorded), spoke to us in a very rude manner, basically called us liars several times, and much more, made me regret the decision to have the wedding at the barn. What owner would say to the bride, "I bet you can't wait till this is over"? Or roll his eyes and say, "oh, god" at the decor we were bringing in? I am disgusted that the surveillance camera in the Groom's suite watched their every move. I wonder if the barn follows the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code. I question the adequate exit access and compliant fire alarm system. I also question their compliance with the ADA Standards for Accessible Design (no designated accessible parking spaces). These are all serious matters that deserve attention. If you prioritize hospitality and integrity in your event planning, look for an alternative venue.

I couldn't have asked for a better wedding hair stylist for my wedding on 6/16/18. From the moment…read moreI met Theodora I knew I was in good hands. She was patient, kind and had a vision for my hair. Before I met Theodora, I was having a hard time finding a hair stylist that would do onsite for my wedding. She not only came onsite to do all my bridesmaids and myself she came on time and ready. Theodora had a created a timeline for each girl getting her hair done. This was beyond helpful to a busy bride. She is professional and the best to work with. I would highly recommend her, if you would like someone with talent, professionalism and a great personality.

First off, I'm selfishly reluctant to write this review, because I adore Theodora so much that I'm…read morescared that once everyone discovers this hidden gem, it'll take forever to book her for myself! LOL. However, luckily for me (and you all), she was recommended to me, and I feel it's only right to pay it forward...... Theodora has now served as my hairstylist for BOTH routine hair care (i.e. highlights, haircut) and bridal hairstyling for my big day. Routine Hair Care: Theodora always uses Redken bleach (for those curious gurus out there) for coloring, including for my full head of blonde highlights. She also does my layered haircuts. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten (including from random strangers on Michigan Avenue) ever since she's been doing my hair. The icing on the cake? It all was $95 and took two hours. UNBELIEVABLE. She does charge an extra $5-$10 for a blowdry depending on the type of hair you have. She also does a deep conditioning treatment (DIVINE!) for about $5. All her prices are extremely reasonable. Bridal Hairstyling: She offered a very affordable trial ($50) and was extremely flexible about meeting times. On the day of the wedding, Theodora showed up 15 minutes early. Yes, she travels to you! I cannot tell you how invaluable this service is on a hectic wedding day. She did blow-outs for both Moms and low chignons for the 4 bridesmaids. She also did a half up-do with curls for myself. It took her about 4 hours total to do all 7 of our heads. The hairstyles lasted all day and night and even through the following day for myself. The icing on the cake? It was all $450 total. Theodora is an extremely great listener and fully "gets" your ideas. Her real talent is taking the idea a notch further making your hair look THAT MUCH BETTER. Invaluable, I'm telling you. Everything about Theodora's hairstyling services is perfect. I can't recommend her enough! You won't be disappointed!
