I was so excited when I found out Sunright Tea Studio was opening up here in Seattle. My friend told me this was a popular boba spot in CA so I knew it had to be good! It is conveniently located next to Trader Joe's so parking is accessible but there can be a lot of congestion in the area. I made the drive all the way down from up north just to try it out. There isn't a place to hang out so it's more like an order and take out boba spot which isn't an issue for me anyways. They have self-order kiosks inside which makes ordering a breeze. I've tried a couple items from the menu since it has opened up and I'm pleasantly surprised that it lived up to my expectations. I absolutely love the blended drinks. There is so much more than just milk tea here! There is smoothies and fruit tea as well. This is one of my favorite bubble tea spots on the Ave. read more

I wanted to like this place so much especially after reading some of the reviews but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. I ordered online and the drinks were late. I found the drinks to be slightly pricer than other places. The boba was too soft and "slippery". I had a few in there that were a little firmer (which is personally how I prefer it to be). My husband got the taro milk tea and it was powdery (even after he shook it well). The staff member was friendly and polite when I asked if the drinks were going to be much longer. It's a very a small place right next to Trader Joe's. Bench area to wait for your drink while it's being made. No other seating available. Make sure you sign up to get points so you can get some $$ off after so many drinks you buy! There's a small area to sit next to the window that faces the counter where they make drinks. Sunright is located next to Trader Joe's and has accessible parking through a parking garage. The place itself is very small and can get crowded quickly. I would not recommend this place as a hang out spot and would just grab and go. I ordered the matcha oolong milk tea with honey boba, which I've had before, and I absolutely love the fragrance of the oolong tea here. The boba is soft but chewy, and the matcha is also wonderful! My boyfriend ordered the four seasons got the four seasons latte with honey boba, which was also nice, but I definitely prefer the matcha oolong milk tea since I love matcha. The teas here are so flavorful and I would definitely come here again, only downside is that the tea seems to contain a lot of caffeine and it kept us up all night. I personally try to avoid visiting the University District area because of how busy it constantly is. However, my sister wanted to try the Honkai Star Rail specialty drinks before the event ended. I got the Kafta (Blushing Blueberry Splendor), and my sister got the Blade (Karmic Chocolate Matcha + cheese foam on top). I liked how refreshing the blueberry drink was, but I do think the chocolate matcha drink was better. Very small boba shop right by the Trader Joe's. The Trader Joe's has parking for customers, so if you are only coming in to pick up and leave, you should be okay to park there. There isn't any reason to really hang around inside the shop since it's so small. You can also pay for street parking. read more

I was disappointed with Sunright in LA and figured it's an overhyped spot but this location has redeemed it for me. Must have been an off day. Sunright being the newest addition to the boba lineup around UW is a blessing (at the time of writing like one year ago, oops) - definitely one of the top spots in the area. Two tablets await you on arrival to order quickly. No tables but there is a small "bench" for you to wait and possibly have short conversations on. This location is right next to the Trader Joes and there is a parking garage also next to it (though not sure if payment is required. Street parking available of course). Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba - at 50% sugar, I found the brown sugar swirls around my cup interesting and was worried my drink would be wrong. Well, even after shaking, the sweetness was not too heavy and was actually enjoyable. Boba was very chewy with a mild sweetness. While it could be better in terms of having flavor, it is one of the better boba toppings around here. read more

Came here because it's right outside of the Trader Joe's (otherwise I would've skipped tea because I'd had so much of it). I got the seasonal peach tea, and my friend got the default boba milk tea. According to the worker, their default milk is mostly non-dairy with condensed? milk? (so not entirely non-dairy), and it can be replaced with whole milk or oat milk. The peach drink, despite being a lower sugar level than I'd normally get, was quite a bit too sweet for me, so if I were to come again I'd have to lower any drinks that use fruit/syrup. I used 80%. The 100% for the boba milk tea though was much less sweet than mine, and it was equivalent to a 70-80 from other places, so that one doesn't need to reduce the sugar as much. The boba was okay, a lot of it was stuck together. If I lived here and came to Trader Joe's I'd certainly come back and get more of their different drinks, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this one specifically. read more

The boba is above average and I prefer the honey boba over the brown sugar. The matcha in both drinks could be stronger. The sugar level in certain drinks (ex. strawberry matcha) cannot be adjusted. I had been here about a month or so ago and forgot to write a review it was after a pop up at Ladd and Lass my friend asked if I wanted to check this place out. I said sure as another friend from California said she liked this chain. Fast forward to yesterday my second visit they were have a promo Sunright Day 50% off the Fruit Tea and chances to win gift certificates if you ordered online through their site how can you say no to that? I THINK I found my new favorite boba spot in the U-District! I have been at Sunright 4 times just this month alone, and I still want more. What I LOVE about Sunright is their sweetness levels. The first drink I had here (Strawberry Matcha) doesn't allow you to adjust the sweetness (100%). I was nervous, since I have been scarred by Happy Lemon's definition of 100% sweetness. To my surprise, the sweetness was just right for this drink. Since then, I have stuck with the recommended sweetness for all of the drinks I've ordered here so far, and they stay consistent with their sweetness. Another thing I LOVE about Sunright is their honey boba. I enjoy the texture and prefer that it's not overly sweet like brown sugar boba. I have tried the brown sugar boba here, and I like it. But I just prefer going with the honey. The last thing I LOVE about Sunright is how easy it is to place an order on the kiosk. Drinks are out in a reasonable window of time. Also, it is next to Trader Joe's so that definitely sweetens my reason to come by more often. Personally I have not had a bad drink from Sunright yet. The only downside was that parking was kind of hard - we had to loop a few times for street parking. The interior is also quite small so no place to sit and chat with friends. I've been meaning to come to this shop for a while since there's always a line out the door. This time, the line was relatively short, so I finally tried it out! After shopping at Trader Joe's. I got the strawberry jasmine tea (25% sweet and less ice). They used fresh strawberries and blended it with tea. And it was good chunks of strawberries too! So it wasn't very sweet unlike other boba chains (ie: happy lemon). The drink was a little bitter from the tea and the strawberries didn't add much sweetness either. I'd get 50/75% sweet next time. Happy Grand Opening! Sunright had a BOGO free drink offer all day and a limited 50 person VIP card + stainless steel water bottle for $20 on their grand opening day. I lined up at 11 am for their 12 noon opening and was 10th in line. Although this was their grand opening, they had actually been open for weeks now -- I've gone twice already! I love their Mochi and their oat milk drinks (I'm lactose intolerant). Their teas are strong and at 25% sugar, the flavor is great. I've tried the matcha creme Brulee, four seasons creme Brulee, and the peach oolong. I really love their Mochi topping! It's such a unique topping that many boba stores in Seattle don't have. Drinks can be on the pricier side with $1 addition for Mochi topping and $1.50 for oat milk replacement. There is no seating in the store and only a bench to sit on. It's located next to the Trader Joe's, sorta halfway into the parking garage. A really small space, but it's kept clean and bright. They have kiosks you can use to self order or place an order at the desk. This might just be my favorite boba spot in Udistrict! read more

I was so stoked to hear Sunright was coming to Seattle as a California-native who relocated to Washington last year! While I don't think their drinks are top-notch in any way, something I really like about Sunright is I think all of their drinks are very solid. Often, a boba spot will make only certain drinks really well and everything else is mediocre or below, but I don't think I've ever had a BAD drink at Sunright. I came in 3 days in a row shortly after their grand opening and tried 3 of my favorites: Jasmine Milk Tea, Grapefruit Yakult, and Sunright Fruit Tea. From these experiences, it's safe for me to say they were all very consistent with what I've had in the past. Woo! The prices are stellar if you ask me because I'm not sure I can name another cup of 22 oz (?) milk tea in the city for under $5. Obviously the price goes up as you add toppings etc., but even with that I still think it's a huge steal. A part of me wonders if this is a marketing tactic and the prices will go up after a while. Despite the long line when I came in on a Sunday afternoon, my drink was served in a relatively reasonable amount of time. Especially considering the store having just opened and employees are still getting up to speed, I think orders were fulfilled in a timely manner. I think it does help that they use self-order kiosks to speed things up. Location wise, it seems a little out of place considering pretty much every other boba spot in U District is either on The Ave or adjacent, but I personally am really into it because 1. The tea flavor was there but not too strong and the cheese foam had a nice creamy texture and flavor. The boba was just a touch too soft but had a nice brown sugar flavor. Overall, I enjoyed it and want to try some of their other drinks soon! Also bonus is that they're basically in the Trader Joe's parking lot, which means free parking (a rarity in UDistrict) and you can get some groceries before/after getting your boba! Sunright Tea Studio is a new boba spot that has multiple locations throughout California and this is their first location in Washington. This place is right next to Trader Joe's with floor-to-ceiling windows. It's more of a grab-n-go spot as there are no tables and only benches to sit while you wait for your drink. When you walk inside, use the kiosk to order. We ordered the mango milk tea ($4.95) with 100% sweetness and the brûlée latte with oat milk and jasmine ($5.95) with 75% sweetness. I liked the amount of mango flavor in the drink although I would've liked to have mango bits in the drink to add to the mango-ness. The sweetness of the oat milk latte was the right amount for us and we could actually taste the creme brûlée. We got both drinks with agar boba ($0.75) because they were sold out of the honey boba and the brown sugar boba. Agar boba is chewy but not as bouncy as normal boba and you might know it as crystal boba if you've ever been to Ding Tea. This was a good boba place that is close to me and I'd be interested in coming back and trying more of their drinks. read more

UW is definitely over-saturated with boba places but I was still excited to try Sunright after hearing good things about the California locations. I was not disappointed at all when I went to try today. Located right next to Trader Joe's, it's a little further away from the other boba places on the Ave, but parking around this area is much easier. It's a small grab and go shop and was pretty crowded when I went, but they had my order ready in less than 10 minutes after I ordered. The kiosk system makes it super easy to order as well, which I like. The space was a little small for people to be waiting inside though. I felt like there were so many more unique drink options at Sunright compared to the other boba places, along with the classic drinks as well. I tried the matcha brulee latte with oat milk and brown sugar boba. The drink was not super sweet even though it was 100% sweet, which was really pleasant. The boba also had a nice sweetness to it and was perfectly chewy. I think this specific drink was a little pricier than the other ones or some other nearby places. Seems like they close kind of early compared to other places and I wonder if the hours will change? The sweetness was overpowering even at 50% and I think they definitely skimping on the ingredients. The grape tea that I had in CA was just brighter and tasted much cleaner. This just tasted of artificial sweetener and some grape pulp. The service was slow and untrained. We waited long enough for me to watch many mistakes and remakes happening behind the counter. The location for Sunright is kinda funny, it's literally in the Trader Joe's parking lot. This honestly makes it super convenient but it also looks so out of place, but I guess there's some charm to that. It's a very small and bright glass space, so it definitely grabs your attention right away. Drinks are conveniently ordered through a kiosk, and it took only a few minutes before mine came out! Sunright has a large variety of drinks, many of which are unfamiliar to most boba shops on the ave! I ordered the Creme Brulee Boba Milk, with 75% sweetness. The drink had the right level of sweetness, and the boba itself was perfectly chewy. I wanted to try out their other toppings as well, such as Mochi and Agar Boba, however the drink was already like ~$7 and I didn't wanna pay for $10 boba. I came to try Sunright tea studio for the first time because of their Maplestory collab! They featured a limited time Yeti's El Nath coconut frostie and Green Slime's Ellinia kiwi tea. Sunright does these game collabs every now and then so it's always interesting to check it out. This location at UW is one of the few Washington locations of this popular California chain. Food My friend and I wanted to try both Maplestory drinks so we got the Yeti's El Nath coconut frostie and Green Slime's Ellinia kiwi tea. I drank the kiwi tea and it was pretty good! The drink was like your typical kiwi fruit drink though and didn't really have anything special to make it Maplestory centric other than the cup and name. I would come again to try some other drinks here. Atmosphere The space is very small and really only has standing room. It is not a place where you can come and hang out with your friends. There are 2 kiosks that you order your drink. Pricing The prices for the drinks at Sunright are average compared to other fruit teas places. The Maplestory drinks were about a dollar more than the average drink at Sunright. Service Self service ordering so you don't have to talk to anyone to order your drink. You can customize the ice level, sweetness, and toppings. The drink came out pretty fast. Other There is a parking garage next to the tea shop but coming in and out of it during traffic times is annoying to do since it's on a busy one way street.
