Hawaii Water Damage Restoration

Hawaii Water Damage Restoration

I hired Hawaii Water Damage Restoration to help me with water damage that happened to my apartment…read moreunit due to another unit's water main leaking. Getting a quote was easy and Marcos made scheduling the initial consultation and assessment super easy. He came to my apartment on-time and went through everything in detail. He carefully inspected all of the damage and walked me through what his thoughts were and assured me that he will document everything thoroughly so that the insurance companies will have more than enough information to accurately assess my costs. Based on the initial consultation, I thought this would easily clear $15,000, but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that we came in under $12,000, especially for the amount of work that I was looking at. The quotes were also very detailed, breaking down each cost for the spaces I needed repaired. I was provided PDFs of these quotes for my own records and when it came time to pay, I was able to pay in parts when each part of the job began. Marcos and his team were also very patient with my work and travel schedules, always coordinating with me to make sure things were done not only in a timely manner, but in proper sequence and done thoroughly. Throughout the whole process, Marcos was kind, knowledgable, communicative, professional, and understanding. I was originally afraid that there was extensive damage to my unit because of how everything appeared on the outside, especially because of water in my circuit breaker. But Kory, the guy who was in charge of making sure all the moisture and mold was taken care of, not only gave me a very clear and easy to understand explanation of all the damage, but he actually was able to show me that the damage to my wall was significantly less worse than what we thought. I expected to lose my cabinets but thanks to Kory, I was able to keep them! He also made sure that a thorough job was done to dry out my apartment so the insurance company would see that we did things exactly by the book and that the water mitigation was thorough. He was incredibly nice, professional, and trustworthy. After Kory, Francisco their drywall specialist came in and did a quick and thorough job of repairing and replacing the drywall that did receive damage. Scheduling time with them was easy thanks to Marcos and Francisco arrived in a timely manner, once again making it easy for me on my tough work schedule. I received drywall work that was even better than what I originally had which was great. Francisco was efficient, professional, and did a excellent job. Finally, Leo, the flooring guy came in with another employee and did an incredible job with my flooring. Marcos provided resources to help me choose new flooring, which was done at H&C Flooring in Kalihi. Sophia was very helpful in recommending good colors and material. Once that was done, Leo did an excellent job communicating all of his work and showing me what was done and what still needed to be done. A big thank you to him as well for putting up with the amount of stuff that I had in the apartment still and moving it all around to do the flooring. He even came in on a Sunday to make good progress on finishing the flooring! Leo was incredibly thorough, professional, kind, and I really appreciated his work. Overall, my experience with Hawaii Water Damage Restorartion was excellent. Marcos, Kory, Francisco, Leo and the rest of the team were great to work with and incredibly professional. I truly appreciated their attention to detail, patience with my situation, and really making sure that I had what I needed for insurance purposes. My apartment feels whole again and they made this whole process incredibly easy for me. I would recommend them for your remediation and restoration needs! Mahalos to you all for your great work!

At the end of the conversation he asked if I had any questions which he answered. 2 days later I had the appraisal for all I had asked for. My advice to anyone seeking an appraisal. Get as much information about your vehicle as you can before you make the call. It will not only make the process easier for you but also make it easier for them to make the appraisal. Also research what cars like yours are going for in the area. All in all thank you Roy and staff for all your help with my appraisal!

This company will practically steal your money so be very weary. They promised me services which they did not fulfill. Yes they will appraise your vehicle, but will make little effort to use their final appraisal to make any case in your favor. This is what happened in my case. A very nice lady named Christine was helping me determine the true value of my vehicle in a total loss situation with my insurance company and in fact provided me with a reasonable appraisal. 1 month down the line, I found out that Christine left the company by calling and trying to find out what exactly happened with my case. It happens that the owner and official appraiser Roy, let her go, and decided not to follow through with my case. When I had to call him to find out the status of my case, he simply said he thinks I have a good case on the true value of my vehicle from his appraisal and to expect favorable results. In fact when I called him a week later to find out, he seemed confused to who I was, and had to shuffle to find my file before telling me that nothing had been done. Then finally my insurance calls me and tells me that my appraiser that I hired has agreed with what insurance had stated was the value of the vehicle of my car. Wasn't Roy/Houston Auto Appraiser's suppose to make a case on the original appraisal that they had made and not agree with the insurance's value? I mean afterall that's why I had asked them to give me an appraisal which they backed confidence. Now they are saying that the value of my vehicle is worth what the insurance says it is in total disregard to the appraisal that they came up with. In addition, once Roy has your money, he won't really care about you anymore. He only picked up my phone calls if I blocked my phone number after he recognized my number. I left him messages which he never returned. The nice lady he probably fired for being genuine made me promises on what steps his company would take, but then he never followed up with it. FINALLY, after he had given up on my case he said these words verbatim on the phone "Your vehicle's value is what the insurance/other appraiser says it is. That's IT! Never you call again!" After which he rudely hung up. $455 of my money practically stolen! BEWARE! People thought your review wa

I've been a client of RLI Insurance for several years. My RLI HO6 policy (covering rental unit)…read morewas secured by insurance broker. Rates were reasonable. A few months ago had to file a water intrusion claim. A claims adjuster was never used. I presume RLI Claims just relied on what was submitted on initial claim. Initial claim was denied. After consulting a Licensed Contractor (masonry and water proofing). Contractor's report indicated that leak may be attributed to hairline crack in concrete slab above my window frame and below the window frame of apartment unit above, resulting in water seeping and collecting to our hollowed windowed frame. This report was filed with the AOAO for possible reimbursement (common area) which was denied (claimed it was a limited common area issue). I circled back to RLI to file update to claim focusing on limited common area (owner above and self). Again, no adjuster was assigned by RLI to investigate claim. Hence, no effort to ascertain responsibility and claim was denied. To my understanding, the process would be to complete investigation and then determine responsibility and each party and then each to take responsibility for repair. Note: I've had similar situation occur my condo residence. My ceiling became stained by standing liquid of unit above. This was handled by my homeowners HO6 (Not RLI). The adjuster showed up promptly, completed the report then approval to have ceiling repaired. I paid the $500 deductible; the ceiling was repaired and then my insurance company subrogated the insurance company of owner above. Easy Peasy. Perhaps there were compelling reasons for RLI claim denial. However reviewing same with a few in the insurance industry, we came to the conclusion that the contractor's report should have led to a re-assessment of claim and then take the appropriate path to resolution. I recently received renewal policy notification with increased premium amount. Opted to go to market and secured HO6 policy with well known, reputable insurance provider at significantly reduce rate( ~30% less). Conclusion: Perhaps there were exclusions or policies that were in the insurance policy that I should have been prudent in reviewing. However, I presumed that HO6 policies would follow the same path as the aforementioned. Hence, I recommend that you carefully review your policies and understand the nuances of your specific policy (i.e. investigation of claims). Lastly, and perhaps most important, you need to feel confident with how a claim is handled.

Rates go up enormously every year. Poor customer service. Look elsewhere if you can.read more
