We stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary and overall enjoyed our stay…read more Our suite was well appointed and we were very comfortable there. Loved the electric fireplace in the living room/kitchen area, just felt so cozy. The room was very clean and the bed was super nice to sleep on, like a cloud! We did have a bit of an odd experience checking in when we arrived. The lady at the front desk was nice but super flustered when our cards kept not working in their card machine. We for sure had more than enough funds on all of the cards we tried using but they kept getting declined. Finally her coworker arrived and was able to help her sort it out but it was an awkward experience overall and not the best way to start our stay there. We ate breakfast each morning downstairs as our stay included $10 per person per day. I do wish they were offering a daily menu feature just to have had a bit more variety to choose from but the food was tasty. We also dined downstairs two of the three nights we stayed - the dinner options were also delicious. We also really loved the wines they had too, lots of great selection. One evening after dinner, we sat outside at the fire pit and relaxed for a while together which was so nice. The grounds were beautiful and the resort is situated right on the water, very picturesque. The pool was super dirty when we visited so sadly we didn't use it but it was close to the end of summer (beginning of September) so perhaps it was a bit neglected at that point. Other than the pool and the bumpy check in process, overall we enjoyed our stay here and may return again someday!

By the water you have access to activities such as kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, stand up paddle boarding, water trampoline, water diving apparatus and jet ski rentals. There is a Sandy beach, a pool and a hot tub. For kids, there are structured activities for different ages. I saw kids working in teams to complete a scavenger hunt. They also have a park, games room, toddler room and karaoke on Friday's. If you want drinks during the day you can BYOB or there is a cash bar by the pool. Also it's up to you to bring snacks of you need something in between meals. In case, they sell chips and ice crwam at the reception desk if you are desperate! My Favourite so far....was dinner time!!! After fun in the sun it was nice to sit down for a nice dinner. We got a basket of mixes bread at oi4 table as we sat down with a large pitcher of water. I tried the chicken cordon blue because it's not something I usually would order. It was so tender and the cheese oozed out when I was cutting it. It came with red potatoes and fresh vegetables. To top it off I got a butterscotch sundae... so on point!!! Looking forward to trying out the lunch and breakfast.

I appreciated that my misconceptions of this place looking older and what, not were wrong. The dinners were amazing, the food was soo unique and really tasty. I got to meet the sous chef who was in Europe for some time who came to assist the main chef at the lodge. It seemed that they worked together to make a little of both of their tastes work, and it worked well. I had Venison for the first time, the lamb was to die for, the chicken as well, their meat was tender. It just seemed so fresh for a lodge, I was impressed. The french fries are sooo good. I dont even eat much carbs but every lunch I ordered a side. Lunch is not bad, but I dont think its anything worth raving about. Breakfast is harty and always have fresh fruit, eggs, yummy bacon and juices. The last night we were there they did a bbq, we really appreciated that they did that for us.

Our contact was limited to a brief visit to view the property and a few emails, without engaging in detailed planning. We had not received details of the new menu or updated pricing for packages. We did not sign a contract because the draft contract was one sided, prompting us to seek amendments. Upon cancellation, we were told our money would be returned promptly. Five months later, the promise of a full refund has become conditional on our date being rebooked, which raises questions about the integrity and professionalism of the venue. Also, the inn is for sale, raising further concerns regarding its ability to sustain future bookings This move from a promised to a conditional refund has been disappointing and frustrating. We're considering legal action to get our deposit back. If you're looking for a venue, proceed with caution and possibly look elsewhere to avoid similar issues.

She secured a room very close to an exit to enable me to walk my dog, at my convenience. When the snowstorm hit hard and unexpected, Mac helped to refill my windshield wiper fluid. These courtesies may seem small; in fact they meant so much to me. I would be safe for my return to the city. The Massage Therapist, Tanya and cosmetician Lize provided excellent pampering. Last summer I attended with my daughter. She was equally impressed with the lovely setting. The restaurant was closed but there were many suggestions from the helpful front desk. Treats were available for my dog. Thoughtful, attention to detail and a stunning setting all make Christie's Mill, my go-to in cottage country. Lillian F

I asked for replacement pillows (non allergenic), and they brought them within 20 minutes, absolutely no problem. The food is really good and well presented. The steak with the peppercorns is great, perfectly done. The burger is consistently delicious. It was a birthday stay, and the hotel put balloons all over the bed - a nice touch. The little touches are appreciated (but I feel for the poor person who had to blow them up ). We'll be back.

There were some positives that we still enjoyed (their heated indoor/outdoor pool is hard to beat), but for the price tag, this stay was really disappointing. Our room was really showing signs of age, especially the bathrooms, as there were cracks in the ceiling, chips in the vanity and our bathroom fan did not work. When we notified the staff about the issue with the fan, they sent someone to take a look, but weren't able to fix it. No further steps were taken to remediate the non-working fan. The facilities were also lacking as one of the showers in the women's change room by the pool remained closed for both days we were there. Considering that there are only 2 showers, having only 1 operational shower was not ideal. On to the food. We dined in at the Chophouse one of the evenings and the food was barely average. Our server's wine recommendation fell flat as it was way sweeter than the "dry white" he said the bottle was. The rosemary olive foccacia was served with butter instead of olive oil. The half dozen oysters were good, but my fish was salty and over-cooked, the medium-rare striploin was ho hum (pretty tough for the cut advertised), and the half lobster thermidor was dry and disappointing. All this for $500+ was ridiculously over-priced. The room service breakfast we ordered didn't fare much better with over-cooked pancakes and a rather sad looking standard 2 eggs and sausage breakfast. The smoked salmon platter was probably the best out of all we ordered. Again, at $120ish, this breakfast felt just as outrageous as our dinner. We did enjoy the pool and the hot tub a lot which is what earned JW Rosseau the 2 stars for this stay. I hope Marriott invests some money to update this otherwise beautiful hotel to really bring it back to its earlier days glory when it first opened.
