My friends and I have been using these cottages/cabins as accommodation in Wasaga Beach for years…read more The perks: - biggest cottage sleeps up to 16 people - cheap - can rent it for just a weekend - not strict about noise - 2 minute walk to the beach/bars - full of people in their 20's - each cabin comes with a bbq - parking is included - bigger cottages come with a fully stocked kitchen (including a stove) - bathroom and shower in the bigger cottages, plus extra facilities on site The booking process is sketchy. After verbally confirming over the telephone with someone that they will reserve a cottage/cabin for you, you have to go to TD bank and put the deposit (in cash) into their account. You then write to their email address to confirm you put the deposit in their account. Once you get there and pay (cash), everyone is given a bracelet they have to wear for the duration of their stay. Extra people cost extra money. Check out is a bit early (10am I believe?) but you can often leave your car their for the day after you've checked out. If you're looking for somewhere to stay with a group of friends in Wasaga Beach, this is a great option.

I didn't do enough research myself and brought more stuff than required. The only real stuff u need would be food and drinks (booze) and also if u want cream in your coffee. Everything else u need to provided. My brother was super psyched because fire starters, kindling and tons of wood is available. U can start the fire outside or inside. They have 4 chairs provided outside but I brought my own as well. Everything else u can research. Such as the sauna or horseback riding. Would be 5 stars if there were more options on stuff to do or eat. But overall it's a wonderful experience and would recommend for sure.

They showed us a trail, the sauna, and gave us a little orientation in our dome as to how to operate everything. It was so cute and cozy in there. The park doesn't have many things to do during the day for activities but that's why it's in Wasaga because everything you could want to do is less than a 10minute drive away! The washrooms and showers were okay just make sure to bring your own personal hygiene products as there wasn't even any soap in the washrooms. There was a live DJ Saturday night which unfortunately I didn't get to see but by the sounds of things was also pretty good! If you're looking to get away for a weekend and enjoy a cheap party/camping experience with friends this is definitely the place! Would have been five stars if there was running water and/or electricity at the sites...

FIrst of all, if you're not into loud, raucous parties, this place is not for you. This place is…read moreadvertised as party central, and they are not kidding. The place itself is pretty nice, very big, lots of trees and decently clean bathrooms and showers. Every site has a huge garbage can, which is emptied every morning and a fire pit. They sell firewood and ice at the front, where there is also a beach volleyball setup and basketball court. It is a 5 minute walk to a 24 hour grocery store, and the Walmart (in case you forget your tent. *cough*.) It's probably a 20 minute walk to the beach, but we drove because we didn't want to drag all our stuff there. They do everything to make sure everyone has a good time. From 9pm-12am, they have a tent set up with music and laser lights for a dance party. Let me tell you, dancing on soft sand is AWESOME! At 10pm, a car from Dominos comes, selling large pizzas at $10 each. At midnight, music has to be turned off, but most parties go on until dawn with no hassle from the Party Police. When we left, the friendly girl at the front suggested that we visit their Facebook page and tag ourselves in the pics that they took at the dance tent. Everyone who works there was friendly, which can't be easy seeing as their entire clientele is made up of drunk partiers. My only complaint has more to do with the other campers than the campsite, and has a LOT to do with the difference in ages. It's been a long time since I could party all night and wake up at 9am and party some more. Nowadays, blasting music out of my car in the morning (MORNING!) after a big booze down is too ridiculous a concept to imagine. The average person who goes there is in their early 20s, and from the Kitchener/Waterloo area, it seems. Other than the loud mornings, this was totally fine, as everyone is very laid back and just out for a nice time. I would recommend this place for anyone who wants a camping experience they will never remember!

Meandering through the caves and caverns is the main highlight in the summer (as well as spring and fall). All caves and caverns follow a structured path, and everything is clearly well marked. They also have mini golf, gemstone mining, hiking trails, and adventure playground for the warmer months. In the winter, it's great for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and sauna. They have a nordic pro shop where you can purchase or rent equipment. The gift shop, which doubles as a small cafe selling hot drinks and snacks, also carries winter activity essentials, ranging from base layers to gloves and toques. All the staff are friendly and helpful. We rented their snowshoes, and they were of excellent quality (with spikes at the bottom to help crush ice, which became very helpful as the trails were quite icy that day). The snowshoe trails are mostly loops and very clearly well marked - it's impossible to get lost.

BEWARE!! BEWARE!! We…read morestayed here last year for a reasonable rate and the management was terrific but that is gone now. I'm paying $357.82 a night and I can't get a hold of management at all. Their phone number goes to a third party offsite answering service that has no information about this resort. If you need anything fixed, addressed, or even simple questions about the amenities, the answering service says you'll get a call and I have yet to receive one after 48 hrs of waiting. Here's an example... The pool shut down and we were being told that it would open in an hour. For over a day this was the answer that kept coming. I spoke with the maintenance person more specifically because management was not answering. It was clear that it would have never been an hour. They still needed to test the water and have the inspector drop by which would have never happened in an hour and it ended up being an additional day before it opened. The maintenance person was kind enough to work on it diligently but the repeated lies about the expected opening is just an indicator of how the management feels about their guests. It's day 3 since my message and no call has come. Imagine if I had a more pressing problem. We love that this is a community of cabins and I was going to book another stay for next year but I simply can't anymore. I can't risk it. There was some upgrading to the property and units since last year but now I'm seeing a management that doesn't care. I fully suspect further decline and I'm seeing the start of it. There was a wonderful young lady who worked here and she was spectacular. I've been told she is no longer here. No doubt another indicator of how management treats people. $357 a night and they won't answer the phone. That's how much they care about you. I recommend moving on to a different resort due to severely inflated fees in tandem with reduced management. Your valuable family vacay can easily be ruined here. The picture says it all. An empty office and an empty phone number scribbled on a board. 9 visits to the office.....empty.

There are a couple of day-use lots on the outside of the actual park for locals to use, I don't believe you can drive into the park proper to use it for day use. At the time we visited, Orillia was close to peak color, so it was a fantastic time. It was a nice day for a hike, and there were quite a few other people using the park as well -- there's a little beach area in the day use part as well as a playground and places for taking your dog on leash. We went and followed the trails in the park, there seems to be a few that can be used, one in the treeline and one along the lake. You can make a decent little loop of a couple of kilometers. There's nothing incredibly challenging about this little hike, to be honest, but the tree colors make for some gorgeous photos. I'll definitely want to come back and visit here and go camping during the season. A really lovely provincial park!

If you're looking for an entry slope, Snow Valley could be it…read more We visited for the first time in years and were pleasantly surprised by the small crowd. It's a smaller venue for skiing with 20 generally short slopes ranging from green to blacks, plus a tubing terrain. The chalet is small with a good number of attendees at the ticket booth, equipment shop and 2nd floor restaurant that serves up basic meal bites with a weeknight deal. Tickets are checked manually at the lifts. Many blue & black slopes themselves are relatively narrow with a few runs that are frequented into soft chopped snow. One of the hills was cordoned off for downhill racing while other slopes had minimal skiers & snowboarders heading down beside us. The lifts moved at a brisk pace although there is a triple-lift with tight seating and a tight off-ramp that was more suited for doubles to avoid tripping. The level of difficulty on the black diamond slopes was low. There is also a freestyle terrain park with jumps on the east side beside the tubing terrain, and a patch of mogul bumps on a west side slope. Overall the resort is oriented towards beginners as a short 1 hr GTA drive near Barrie. Skip it or hit it? On the one hand I was intrigued by the short narrow slopes, on the other there are more challenging and better ski facilities a little further away. Not sure how often we'd come back.

I went in to redeem a 2 for 1 ticket from the ski and snowboard show a few months back. What's nice to see is the conveyor belt with their main base lift which moves the crowds fast. It's been a long time since I tried the other chair lifts and I hardly remember how fast they have the speed set here so you have minimal wait time- not that I had any competition because there were only 30 or so other patrons. The sad part about this place is the food- they used to have a burger made from scratch- not anymore so the patties seem to be just vanilla. The chalet / restaurant is cute log style with fire place so if you're abandoning any family it's a bit tolerable.
