We stayed at AAA cottages on Georgian bay for the August long weekend 4th -7th. Upon entering the…read morecottage it did not look like pictures provided on the Facebook page. I was not expecting anything like the ritz but it was not the cleanest place I have stayed. The food cupboard had crumbs in it the fridge was not clean and we were told the kitchen would have some items like pots and frying pan and there was one pot. Thank god we brought our own. We proceeded into the bedrooms where all the bedding had stains on it. My room in particular had the window left open before we arrived and it had rained so my left side of the bed was soaked. I had to remove all bedding and allow the mattress to dry before using my own bedding (again thank god we brought it the owner had said we didn't need it). We then went to use the BBQ which was absolutely disgusting and has probably not been cleaned since it was brought to the cottage. We cleaned out the BBQ and cleaned the racks. The owners cottage was next door which we had no issue with. However her kid kept coming over to visit (also fine) but he started to walk into the cottage uninvited and personally I felt a little invaded in the space which we were renting for the weekend. It was an adult weekend with no kids and all of a sudden we were responsible for someone's else child for periods of time. There was no garbage bin to store you bags in before dumping we were told to keep them in the cottage with us. she had other guests using a bathroom that was attached to our cottage and should have been for our use. We had a cock roach siting in one bedroom and my phone had fallen behind the stove and when we pulled it out there were multiple dead ones and it was FILTHY. You could not get on the dock unless you walked through water to get on it. The advertised "pool" was nothing like the pictures it was full of Algae, actually gross looking like a green swamp. And unbelievably Samantha the owner tells us it's fine to still swim in - as if anyone of us is getting into that. Upon leaving we left the bedding off the bed because it clearly needed to be cleaned, we scrubbed the fridge and all cupboards, counters, floors, picked up and removed all garbage from the property. I was told I would receive my deposit back within a few days of leaving and I cannot even get the cottage owner to answer a call from me or text. When I posted on her Facebook about receiving some some communication back she blocked me. DO NOT RENT HERE - NIGHTMARE

We ate in the restaurant too. And it too seemed understaffed with the waitresses acting as hostess, bartender and wait staff. Maybe Covid, maybe not. We stayed here for our 1st wedding anniversary and overall enjoyed our stay…read more Our suite was well appointed and we were very comfortable there. Loved the electric fireplace in the living room/kitchen area, just felt so cozy. The room was very clean and the bed was super nice to sleep on, like a cloud! We did have a bit of an odd experience checking in when we arrived. The lady at the front desk was nice but super flustered when our cards kept not working in their card machine. We for sure had more than enough funds on all of the cards we tried using but they kept getting declined. Finally her coworker arrived and was able to help her sort it out but it was an awkward experience overall and not the best way to start our stay there. We ate breakfast each morning downstairs as our stay included $10 per person per day. I do wish they were offering a daily menu feature just to have had a bit more variety to choose from but the food was tasty. We also dined downstairs two of the three nights we stayed - the dinner options were also delicious. We also really loved the wines they had too, lots of great selection. One evening after dinner, we sat outside at the fire pit and relaxed for a while together which was so nice. The grounds were beautiful and the resort is situated right on the water, very picturesque. The pool was super dirty when we visited so sadly we didn't use it but it was close to the end of summer (beginning of September) so perhaps it was a bit neglected at that point. Other than the pool and the bumpy check in process, overall we enjoyed our stay here and may return again someday!

The Rosseau is a beautiful resort, set on top of hill overlooking Lake Rosseau. There has been a…read moregreat deal of attention put toward ensuring that guests have a true Muskoka experience - including a small fire pit (with a live smoldering fire) right near the entrance. The rooms are top notch as are the balconies. No expense was spared on the resort or rooms. The reason why I did not give them 5 stars is because of service and a few small things that need to be rectified. 1. The staff is young and very eager to please, but the lack of experience definitely shows. As a result, we wasted a few hours waiting for a charter boat on a Saturday due to the marina's scheduling mix ups and lack of communication. This was very frustrating, and even though it was not our fault, we needed to escalate the issue before it was eventually resolved to my satisfaction - which was even more upsetting. 2. There are 4 restaurants on site, however the room service menu only has 3 options for a dinner main entree (steak, fish, chicken)? Why the wedding menu? In the end, I had to physically visit the restaurants, ask for a copy of their menu, return to my room with the menus and order what I wanted. Why not just add these items to the In room dining menu? Anyway, the food was always promptly delivered and set up with a white table cloth and fresh cut local flowers! (a lot of attention to detail). I guess that's why there is an included 18% gratuity for room service. Again, not huge issues - but those are the two reasons why I did not give 5 stars. That being said - I will definitely return and have highly recommended this resort to my family and friends!

The property manager is as nice and accommodating as can be, especially when it's a group of 9 people coming in late and being loud as can be. The rooms are immaculately clean and has a hot tub! Room also had a nice patio in the back that lead to the fire pits/bbq are along with the river. You can also rent canoes and kayaks for a nominal fee. Highly recommended!

They heard we had recently got engaged so when we arrived there was a lovely note from the staff saying congratulations. One year we came up for thanksgiving which was a couple of days after my husband's birthday and when we got to our room there was a lovely happy birthday card and a bottle of wine which we enjoyed while watching the sunset. The golf course was lovely. It was perfect for both our levels, challenging but fun. They space out tee times so you really feel like you are the only ones on the course. Facilites are excellent and accommodation in the main building first class following renovation…read more The only downside is the lack of fine dining since the main restaurant was burnt down a few years ago. The lakeside Boathouse Restaurant is OK but mainly casual and for me uninspiring fare. Service is efficient and staff attentive. Somewhat expensive but reflective of the resort and its generally well-heeled clientele. The Chalet/Condominium style accommodation, not that we experienced it, has catering facilities. This would be advantageous for many as nearby Gravenhurst offers limited and unexciting dining and Bracebridge much the same. During our stay it was mainly large families and the beach areas were lively and crowded, although guests had the option of three pools in the complex.. The attached golf course is renowned and highly regarded in the golfing community and not for high handicappers. Again, another expensive aspect of this resort. However, If you are not budget conscious and enjoy spectacular views and lake activities it should easily provide a satisfactory break or vacation for every age group.

We were thankful that the boat had both indoor seating and outdoor seating as it was a chilly day. While we awaited the boat we shopped in the store which had an extensive collection of items made by local artists. What we liked: When asked questions the crew was knowledgeable. The boat was very pretty- much nicer than other boat tours we've done. They had a full bar and snacks for purchase. Lots of different views from the boat- three levels of I treating spaces. Plenty of seating. What we didn't like: From the website it looked like we would be enjoying a steamship. The boat we took was a diesel ship. It seemed like we would learn about local history of the area- but it was a prerecorded tour that was out of sync with what we were supposed to be looking at. This made it confusing and we were unsure of what we were supposed to notice. It was pricey for what it was. And there is an additional charge for the museum. Crew was moving furniture from the dining room for the carpet to be replaced. The tour felt like an imposition for the crew to get their work done on the boat. Not great pictures of the beautiful dining room because there were chairs stacked everywhere. There are many great museums in the area and lots of cool experiences, many that are free.. I wish we had skipped this one & spent time elsewhere.
