Amazing pizza and wings. Cooked fresh when you order, and great daily specials . Excellent value as well.

Enough that for a place that…read moreis 30-40 minutes drive away and otherwise never set foot, I've been following their social media handles even before the new management opened up shop last summer. However, the last few visits have been frustrating, each with its won nuances, and based on these failed attempts, I most definitely will not go back. It honestly has less to do with the quality of the items offered, but really how this place is operated - so if you don't care about none of that stuff, feel free to pass on this review. My first visit I couldn't even get inside because it was closed - I was by during the early afternoon hours that it was advertised to be open and it was a good few weeks past their soft opening. The second time, I call ahead but there's no one answering the phone. So I cross my fingers and was estatic for a split second when I could open the front door... until I find that only the door was open, but the cafe really wasn't since they apparently were closed for a private event. I later found out they post closings on their Facebook page. So third times the charm right? Nope - even after I check their page to see no early closings, I arrive about quarter til 1pm on a Friday afternoon to find I made it "just in time" before closing at the hour. Okay, maybe my timing is really unlucky - so I suck it up (for the time being). I attempt to order a cookies & cream frappe that was featured on their site. Not available. I ask, what other frappes? None, say staff. I ask for decaf latte. Yep - actually just kidding, nope, decaf grounds take time to prepare (aka not worth their time I guess). So, really I am left with ice or hot coffee. Okay, at this point as much I want to storm out the cafe - I am reminded that one of the owners from the second visit offered a free drink coupon (at this point my Yelp brain is saying, okay this Is at least is a 3 star review). I think, let me just get a drink and get outta here. Bless her heart, the barista I've been going back and forth tells me she happened to brew decaf coffee earlier and could make iced coffee with it. I am thinking - what saving grace, that stuff I would actually order - great, let's do that. Here comes the finale - I had told the staff that I was going to redeem this drink coupon as I said yes to the decaf iced coffee. Clearly, that did not reach her. She tells me that she doesn't know how to undo the transaction and clearly, she is anxious as I am in a slightly different sense - I had insight from the earlier TMI when she told me she is almost late for her game at 1. Okay, as the slightly more adult person here I tell her alright, I will pay but I want the management to follow-up and issue me refund. Thank goodness I proposed this cause guess what, amongst all the tension everything was a-OK since I didn't pay. I guess she thought I did and was trying to tell me she couldn't process refunds. I tried to tie a bow on this as best as I could - I tipped the poor girl 20% and wished her luck on her game. I hope I made it clear that my built up frustration wasn't aimed at her, as I tried to explain in between our unnecessarily long interactions. Oh, did I tell you the staff are not masked in January when vaccines were still limited to healthcare staff? Not the staff nor her companion. Goodness - at least I was wearing one. TMI 2 - no wonder another staff contracted COVID-19. All I can say is - good luck at your own risk, future patrons.

The large oj is served in a beer mug, so be prepared for a lot of juice if you order a large. The juice is not fresh squeezed but it is tolerable. My eggs were cooked just as I ordered and the pancake was perfect. The grilled biscuit and gravy were tasty. The place was full of locals old and young. With only a few choices in Thomaston for breakfast this place stands out. We were here for breakfast but they have daily lunch specials that sounds good. We will come back to try lunch. They do not accept credit or debit cards but there is an ATM at the gas station next door.

It's a Country cooking kinda spot, nothing crazy in terms of flavors or offerings. Place is clean and tidy, servers were both very nice and each of the ladies that were in the back cooking, that came out were nice as well. Hamburger is an unseasoned little less than 1/4 pound patty that is flat top cooked. Bun was standard and they ask what toppings you want and add them for you. Onion rings are a commercial frozen food service product and are standard in flavor and unseasoned as well. Veggies were fresh and they didn't cheap her on the mayo. Country Fried steak as fried and crispy and commercial food service product as well. The brown gravy was nice and peppery which I enjoyed and seasoned properly. The fries were crispy but unseasoned, and since I don't like ketchup I was out of luck and ended up dipping them in my gravy. Texas toast was toasted nicely but the butter they used is unsalted so it was bland. The Cole slaw......was brought to the table at room temp and the room was like 74 degrees...that was a first for me. Most people want their Cole slaw chilled, even at picnics outside in the South in the dead of summer, I've eaten colder slaw. It's heavy on the Mayo which is the saving grace! I added pepper and salt and a splash of bottled lemon juice they brought with the iced tea and jazzed it up. Yeah...I said jazzed like some middle aged mom! Price point was completely reasonable and their bathroom was tidy. They did a steady walk-up and order at the window service while we were there. More people came and went from the window than the dining room. I'd probably come back and try their other items just to see, if I'm in the area and was out of new options to try. Nothing was a deal breaker in terms of repeating the experience...but nothing was all that great either.

We ordered lemon pepper, Tennessee whiskey, mild, firecracker, hot parm, and teriyaki wings. The wings were so good! The wings were cooked really well and had the perfect balance of crisp and sauce. The flavors of the sauced wings were good too. My favorite was the Tennessee whiskey and the firecracker. The firecracker wings had a hint of heat but also like a flavorful undertone of ranch seasoning, but still tasted like firecracker wings. The Tennessee whiskey was different, but those flavors came together so well with a hint of sweet and savory. The hot parm and the other wing flavors all were really good. It was a large group of us, so we also ordered a cheese pizza and a caveman pizza. Both of those were really good as well. It was so hard not to overstuff myself. The pizza was cooked well, and the flavors blended nicely. The kids loved the cheese pizza. The hand cut fries were on point as well. If you're in the area, I would definitely recommend this spot.

We have been to the Karvelas in West Point (son goes to Point U), so we decided to give this location a try since we just moved to LaGrange. We should have expected it to be busy, we were surprised it was PACKED! That's a great thing for a business. They turned tables over quickly when people left, so people waiting could be seated quickly. We actually didn't wait long at all to be seated. Not too many options for food, which I actually like. I think it makes for a faster time to get your food. However, I did wish they sold pizza by the slice, like they do at lunch. Not everyone wants to have the same type of pizza (only reason for the 4/5 stars). The three of us ordered different variations of their wings. All were brought out hot and fresh. I got traditional wings. I was so happy they weren't small wings, like a LOT of other places are currently serving. They were cooked perfectly and tasted great. My husband and son ordered the boneless wings. They don't have like 8 or 10 count, they serve a MOUND of them. My son usually eats his whole serving of traditional wings, he actually had leftovers. Both of them had different flavors and they said they were really good. For the place being SO busy, our server was really on top of it and the staff all had great attitudes. We will definitely be back!
