Sunny Nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Des Plaines, Illinois

Love this place; it's always welcoming, shows lots of care, and the staff is genuinely concerned about your well-being.

So I came in for a pedicure like I normally would with Sarah. And completely come out disappointed and with a botched pedicure. For starters, she rushed through the whole process. Left my big toe nail crookedly shaped. Then I had asked for a design to match my acrylic nails on my big toe and she did nothing of the sort to try to match what I asked, she did what she wanted and it totally came out horrendous. And lastly, my total was $35 and I gave her a 40 and she she took it upon herself to keep the five dollars change without me even telling her or without her even knowing what I was gonna give her as a tip. Oh, and I also forgot to mention that the slippers that they put on me for my toenails to dry left the bottom of my feet stained pink, and when I brought it to their attention, they told me to go home and wash it off and I stated to them that I did not just pay $40 for a pedicure for me to walk out of the shop with pink under feet. (the picture that I will be attaching below shows the design that was put on my big toe that did not even closely match What is on my acrylic nail.) read more

Friendly prompt service. I've had two nice manicures here. Mani pedi combos are also offered at an affordable price. I'll be back!

Friendly, accommodating & great pedicure experience. My nails looked beautiful & got a wonderful leg massage - a part of the pedicure that has been missing at other nail salons. read more

So cute! Very sweet, does a great job! I strayed one time and regretted it, I'll never do that again.

The workers are all very friendly. They take pride in making their customers happy. Their prices are very reasonable. Been going for years with no complaints. read more

Gel manicure and pedicure Awful experience. Prices to much. Actually have to pay for a leg massage. Go to Simply Nails on Golf and Arlington Heights Road. Do not charge to remove gel nail polish. Massage included in pedicure and warm stone massage, also! Employees must more friendly. Offer a choice of beverage. Like night and day. read more

I've been going to Sunny Nails for years for my mani, pedi, and wax! Make sure to call ahead and make an appointment! They do take walk-ins but just to be safe! The ladies here are so sweet, friendly, and thoughtful. Rosa is the older lady who's very silly and sweet. Julie is more reserved and very caring. Sarah is so full of energy and so positive, and Soo is the boss who's also very thoughtful and awesome. And of course, they're all talented. They truly try to get to know their customers. Korean is their native language and although English is not their first language, they do their best to converse with you, it's so cute! I love the positive energy they radiate. The interior is very clean and simple. They do a great job with sanitizing and cleaning their space and tools. They also check your temperature prior to seating you. This nail salon is in a small plaza and it's hard to miss, but it's in the plaza next to McDonald's and same plaza and Domino's Pizza. The price is very reasonable and their service is absolutely fantastic! For manicure, it's $15 and pedicure is $25. But here's the deal!! Regular Manicure and pedicure together is $30 French manicure is $20 and French pedicure is $30. Upper lip wax is $7 and eyebrow wax is $8! Can't wait to go back to get my mani&pedi done! read more

While it is not the most modern looking salon, (like others that might fool you with their appearance), the Sunny Nails ladies do an EXCELLENT job on your manis and pedicures! We had our daughter's 5h birthday party here. It was such an amazing experience! They were accommodating and also let us bring light snacks and juice boxes for the kids. They gave us an all star treatment and were so patient with all the girls. Love this place and been coming here for all my nail needs for about 10 years for my wedding and now my daughter's birthday. Great service and quality nails. read more

A big difference in service compared to the other nail shop i went. This is what I call a manicure. She put the time to Cut and shape my nails, even putting warm towel, a little bit of massage. I gave them all the stars also because they let me try like 5 different colors on each of my nail which surprised me the most. read more

My mom and I have been going to this nail salon for years and overall it's a good bargain! The staff is friendly for the most part, but some don't speak English well and they are always talking in their language making you wonder if they are talking about you. Overall, whenever I'm back in Illinois and want to have my nails done, I go here! read more

Terrible experience! My nails look horrible and very messy. I was definitely not impressed. It was my first time trying this place out and I will definitely not be coming back. The polish does not fully cover the rest of my nail and they are already chipping. I got them done last night! Also, both of my thumb nails fell off the very next day! read more

My wife is a regular customer here, and every time I go I can see the enjoyment and delight from the staffs face. Sarah is my wife's go to person. I highly suggest going here if you want your nails professionally sone. They are skilled workers! :) read more

My favorite nail salon! Everyone agrees that it's a little gem. I've gone to more prestigious chain salons but I prefer a casual place where I can walk in and feel relaxed. Sunny's is always buzzing with friendly conversations and there are magazines to read or something on television you can watch while waiting for your nails to dry. As previously mentioned, English is not the first language for most of these workers. But I've never found this to be a problem as each women is very friendly. They carry OPI and Essie and have no problems letting you try colors on before picking one. This is hands down the most cost effective nail salon I've been to and I can never rationalize going anywhere else. read more

I tried this place for the first time last week and although the ladies were very nice my nails look terrible. It hasn't even been a week and my no chip manicure has chipped on two nails. Also, she filed my nails so hard that my skin is sore. I will stick to my regular nail spa that's an hour away. I was looking for a new spot as I now live in the area but this isn't the choice. This week I have to get my nails redone what a waste of money. So sad because they were very pleasant. Customer Service 5 stars my nails 0! read more

Really love this place, tried several other nail salons prior to finding Sara at Sunny Nails. The prices are very fair and all the staff is friendly. Most importantly they keep everything very clean and sanitary, I am a stickler about cleanliness! Although English is a second language for all the staff I never have a problem communicating with any of the ladies. They stay busy and I can understand why so make an appointment if you don't want to wait. read more

I really wanted to like this place because it was close to home and the staff was really nice. However, I am not paying for nice. I went there for a acrylic fill in and pedicure. I felt like my 13 year old could have done a better job with the paint job. My nails are bumpy and you can see the brush marks on pretty much every nail. I could have complained but I didn't have time for a new paint job so I will suck it up for 2 weeks until I try another new salon. Oh and I should mention this salon is soooooooooooooo out of date and kinda dirty. The pedi chairs were broken and the floors were dusty and everything is just plain OLD! read more

I came here to get a manicure and at first it was going fine, then she got to cutting my cuticles and then went on to my right pointer finger and proceeded to cut the skin. It bled a lot because of a mistake in her cutting. Also my friend who I am with got acrylics and it took twice as long as it should have and she also wanted a certain shape which she didn't get but they charged her more for it. I am very displeased with their service. P.S. if you want long nails don't come here because there is an extra charge. read more

By far my worst acrylic set I have ever had. I came in on Wednesday with my friend after seeing a few good reviews . It was just before 7 and I was told there was no time for a full set . So I said ok I will wait till next time. Another lady said she could do my nails for me . Everything seemed fine at first and I thanked her. She ended up rushing and sending me out the door before my nails were even dry ! It's been a week and one day since I got my nails done and they look awful. My coworkers and friends were shocked how horrible my nails look . The acrylic is so un even it flaking off ! And each hand looks different. Also they charged me $30 when online it said $25 . I was so greatful to the lady I tipped her $10. The next day when I woke up and saw them in day light I was shocked. I hate business's who think they can give young people a botched rushed job because they are young . Do not come here. I'm beyond disappointed. Will be going to OP nails down the block ,better quality .don't be fooled like we were only good reviews because very few people review the place . read more

Loved the entire staff and this place. They do an amazing job mani and pedi....And prices are pretty fair too!

I called ahead and asked if they could do a mani/pedi for my daughter's 6th birthday and they were able to give me a kids rate for her, which I appreciated. They were so sweet to her on her birthday and painted flowers on her big toes and her ring fingers. They made her comfortable and the whole experience was great! read more

We are so happy with our Sunny Nails experience. Initially my bridesmaids and I purchased a groupon for no chip manicures at a nail institute. We then found out after many unreturned phone calls and beating around the bush, they did not have the coverage to do our nails. They only had Monday night and Wednesday morning appts and my wedding was Saturday. I wasn't even going to be in town yet (nor were most of my bridesmaids). Sunny Nails came to the rescue!! With only a few short weeks notice, they provided WONDERFUL mani/pedi for us at an unbeatable cost! They were SO NICE, worked around our schedule really well, and treated us so well. I had a wonderful time the morning of the rehearsal dinner just enjoying a spa day with the girls and my no chips lasted almost 2 1/2 weeks! I couldn't be happier with my experience at Sunny Nails for my wedding. If you are in the area and need a place to get your nails done, Sunny Nails has your back. They have a friendly staff that is ready to make your nails look wonderful to show off that beautiful ring! read more
