My kid had horrible experience there today. I would give zero star if I could. When we were all ready to have a haircut, the lady just took her phone and went outside without saying a word. Then my son was just sitting in front of the mirror waiting for her back. After 5 to 10 minutes, she came back and started to give my son a haircut. She seemed like she was not in mood today. My son is 5 years old, but the lady did not even say a single word to ask my son to lower his head or head up. She just used her hand to push down and move my son's head roughly. Then she used some kind of clipper that looks big to trim the neck. My son was tearing and said that was hurt, and I told the lady about it. However, she still saying without a word. She just made the sound "en en" let me know that it would not hurt the kid. Suddenly, I saw the blood and scratches on my son's neck. I told her about it, but she said that because my son was moving. No apologies at all. She's also trying to use something in her hand to wipe the wound on my son's neck. Then I had to stop her. My son had been to another hair salons as well, but everything going well. No complaints and NO CUT on skin. We came here today because it is close to us. Now, I'm so regret that I brought my son to this place. The person works here is apathetic and unprofessional. Don't bring your kids here to have haircuts! read more

I called the day before to see if Brenda could cut my Mom's hair. She was booked so she asked me to bring my mom in the next day at noon. I think there was something lost in communication because my mom wasn't written in the books. My mom is in her 80's so taking her out isn't the easiest thing and she only likes Brenda doing her haircut. I wasn't too sure about this business. The place had McDonalds from a previous customer on the waiting area chairs. And the first impression colored my attitude. We waited a few minutes and I was going to take my mom to my salon but Brenda had her station open up. The haircut she gave my mom was very nice and my mom seems happy with it. The five stars is for Brenda's haircut. I think a better system of customers who make appointments needs to happen such as writing customer's information in the appointment book and being aware of the appointment time. read more

I really wanted to love this place because since moving to the Bay a few weeks ago I've yet to find the best pedicure place. I try to indulge myself once a month for that. This is my third place in the Sunnyvale area and its been so-so. I'm never the one to make an appointment because its spur of the moment so it was nice that I didn't have to wait.. AT ALL. I walked in on Friday at about 3:30PM and no customers were in there. Three ladies were sitting down watching tv, reading their books. I was reluctant to get a pedicure but I wanted to try a new place. The pedicure I got was by Patricia and it was obvious that she was filling in and this was not her location. When I asked if they accepted Visa or how much the pedicure was she kept having to ask someone else. It wasn't a special pedicure but it got the job done. I got a basic pedicure with French tip. The massage was short :( its my favorite part so that was a bummer. She asked a lot of questions about the shortness of my nails, how it looked etc so that was nice. At the end I thought it was someone plain so I asked for a flower and she said she didn't have her tools so she couldn't give me one.. that was pretty disappointing. The other two girls were by then with customers so I was SOL. I most likely won't come back here and try another place. The price for my French pedicure was 25 bucks and I gave her a 2 dollar tip. read more

Would not recommend! I came here for a regular manicure and they were so rough with the cuticles that my ring finger and pinky started bleeding. See the attached picture. When I pointed it out they just kept pouring alcohol on the wounds and didn't seem apologetic at all. I wouldn't recommend coming here ever unless you want to order a manicure with a side of pain. 2 days later and the wounds still hurt. I've never had this happen before at any nail salon. read more

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST! THEY TURNED MY HAIR DARK ORANGE AND REFUSED A REFUND! I tone my own hair normally, but am moving in a few weeks and my hair products are already being shipped to my new place. Figured, if I can tone my own hair, how can any stylist possibly screw it up? Well SHE CAN. Went in to tone my highlights slightly closer to my natural ash blonde color. We picked an ash color, but the hairdresser left it in for too long, and colored my ends darker than my roots. While washing my hair, she applied some "treatment." My hair turned from beautiful ash blonde to dark ORANGE BRUNETTE. I HATE IT! It's also impossible for hair to turn orange from an ash toner. What's worse, a toner washes off - I've washed my hair 6 times, used a lemon+conditioner treatment for 3 hours, and the color is NOT CHANGING. In other words, the stylist lied to me and used a PERMANENT color with red in it!!!!! I had to pay $500 at another salon to improve my hair color, but it was IMPOSSIBLE to remove the orange without bleaching all of my hair (extremely damaging)!!! AND THE WOMAN AT THIS SALON STILL WOULDN'T HONOR A REFUND!!!!!! Worst experience EVER. read more

I have been scouring Sunnyvale for a great gel polish, gel shellac place. Overall I am happy with the result. I called it at about noon and got an appointment for 2pm. I asked for something later, since its a working today, but she kept insisting on 2pm. So I took a long lunch. I thought it was a little hard to find - its inside the plaza where the Round Table Pizza and World India Bazaar is. I somewhat got an acknowledgement when I walked in.. and then no one said anything to me for 10 minutes. So I just sat down, thinking, 5 more minutes and I'm getting up to leave. But eventually someone came over and acknowledged my existence. The place seemed cluttered, and run down. I get my nails done with daisy gel polish quite a bit, so I know the routine. However they soaked my nails instead of wrapping them in tin foil and a bit of cotton, so the result was actually better, less scraping and damage to my nails.. but my skin is pretty dry from direct contact with the acetone.. and it took longer than usual to remove the old polish. The girl really didn't say more than 5 words to me the whole 2 hours I was there. I think a gel polish french manicure normally takes about 30 minutes with the multiple stages of polish needing exposure to UV light. They also only splurged for one UV light, so that slowed down the process as well. My nails got filed down to a nice square shape, shorter than I am accustomed, but they look nice. I also had a broken nail through the nail bed where it was bleeding, and she did a great job of patching it up, although I can still see the blood fracture through the French Manicure polish. I didn't like that I had to micromanage her. I had to ask for the white tip part to be thinner. I asked 4 fingers to be redone because the paint was bubbly. The massage was nonexistent, she just put some lotion on my hands - which they badly needed from the acetone soak. I also speak Vietnamese, but apparently I don't look it, so always good to see what they will say about you. There really wasn't much gossip, to be honest., but my manicurist did ask the manager how much should she charge me, and she thought $28 was not enough... but she didn't raise the price on me. So I did tip. $28 for a French Manicure gel polish that will last at least 2 weeks. So if you have 2 hours to kill, don't need a social manicurist, and have no problem with being THAT person that keeps complaining about how your nails look.. you can go here. I think I will keep searching for the best place. read more

Was a walkin in the middle of the week. The ladies were just sitting around watching tv, munching on snacks and reading magazines. It took about 2-3 minutes for one of them to get up and give me a manicure. All through the manicure they kept talking to each other in their language and my manicurist paused many times to watch TV. The nails turned out reasonably good - which is why I have given this place an extra star. But overall, I am not happy with the service.Don't think I will be back. read more

My wife is very happy with the service she got last weekend. She went to this salon based on a friends recommendation. She went in just for a trim and when she had not returned for 2+ hours I was worried and called her on her cell. She said she was straightening her hair. I think she spent about 2 1/2 hours there and when she returned she was one happy person. The two ladies that worked on her hair were very gentle and extremely courteous. My son loved her new look. She was very happy over all and plans to visit the salon again sometime soon. Not sure what she was going to get done this time. But as long as she is happy I am happy too. Never step into this place for a haircut. I tried it and am badly repenting. The one star is just so I could write the review. I went here cos I saw some positive reviews elsewhere. But ended up with a wierdo haircut. I am this close to tears and can't figure out how to fix it. The lady who cut my hair did not get what I wanted. Ended up cutting layers on the sides of my face but none in the back despite my repeated request. Then she proceeded to curl them inward, when I wanted them outward. To top it all, when I asked her to correct it, she started using the curling iron with such vengeance, my hair was getting pulled out. She wasn't gentle the least. Finally I stopped her from doing any more, cos I thought let me get out with some hair intact. So - ideally minus stars to this place. read more

I asked them to cut a little shorter so I will save for the straightening which they did. They really paid attention, never rush and took really good care of my hair. After researching and enquiring about salons safe for my childs mundan I finally decided to take her over here. Honestly I was very scared and skeptical at start. But the moment we entered the lady(Im sorry I dint ask her name) made sure all teh equiptments were serilized in front of me. My child(12months) is one of the strongest you can imagine and was a difficult job to calm her down during the entire episode. Yet the ladies were superlative when it came to being as gentle as possible on my child. She dint even hurry up the tonsure, infact rechecked and made sure that she did 100% justice to her work, and my daughter came out smiling with a cute shaven head. THe others working there were very sweet too trying to make my daugher sail though this. She charged us just 15$ for her amazing work, much cheap as compared to other Indian salons.
