Had my 2013 Honda CRV with 103,000 miles in there for 2 weeks. It needed the Variable Timing…read moreControl (VTC) actuator replaced which is fairly major engine work. Also needed brakes done for first time since new. In addition, the car has had a shutter or shimmy at 25 MPH forever and it needed the A/C repaired. VTC replace seems fine (included timing chain) and the brakes work well. Shimmy wasn't fixed and is still there, now at 28-32 MPH. A/C compressor was replaced along with the controller behind the dashboard. When I picked it up, the MAX A/C setting was not working right so took it back. They said it was over charged, but it was still the same after I picked it up. Charge was $4,100 which was not out of line, but I'm a little disappointed that some items weren't diagnosed and/or repaired correctly. UPDATE: A a result of my original posting, the owner contacted me and we took a ride. He experienced the shimmy problem and had me bring it back in. They serviced the transmission and fixed the shimmy problem. I also found out that the A/C was working correctly in that the MAX A/C setting wasn't supposed to change the fan speed as I thought it would. My bad! Upgraded my rating to EXCELLENT.

When searching for a mechanic on Yelp, I didn't realize I was creating a potential project that…read moreproviders could respond to with quotes, etc. I needed my timing belt replaced because it was well past its proposed maintenance (I didn't even know you needed to replace a timing belt). Justin was one of the first to respond, asking me if I also needed a water pump (which I did but also didn't know - I verified with a mechanic friend). He was also the first to provide a proper written quote and it fit my budget. To be honest, I was a little worried about hiring someone without any visible reviews (but his hidden ones are very positive, they are just short) but Justin was so quick to respond, willing to work with my budget and schedule, that I decided to take a chance and I'm so glad I did. He's also mobile, which is a huge plus for me... I'm a single lady who can't just get help dropping my car off for all-day service. He will go to where the car is - even if it broke down in a Wendy's parking lot (true story). Justin worked his butt off on my car. It's a 2003, so it has all sorts of things going on and he ended up spending the entire weekend on my car (and needed to bring in a welder), and worked with me so well after I was worried that this whole project was going far beyond my budget. I now will trust Justin with all my mechanic work on my car. He informed me of what he was doing, recommended the next scheduled maintenance, and honestly was a joy to work with from start to finish. I look forward to my little Honda having a long and healthy life ahead of her, thanks to Justin.
