Buzz Doughty and his crew just completed installing a new roof on our home and we are extremely pleased with the results. I watched Doughty Roofing replace the roof on the house across the street and was impressed by the crew's efficiency and work. I met Buzz when they were cleaning up on the job across the street; I asked him if he could look at my place and give me an estimate. He took a great deal of time to explained his estimate procedure. Buzz said it was a two-day job and responded quickly, answering questions right away, and came back with a good bid that same day. The work was completed between the recent storms in one day plus a couple of hours the next. Service started very quickly after signing the contract and was finished ahead of schedule and they did a great job. I'm very pleased with their work ethic and overall value for money spent. The workers were considerate (no loud radio music!) and cleaned up very thoroughly after themselves. I can say without hesitation that it was a great experience from start to finish. Hired Nor-Cal Maintenance for gutter cleaning and roof moss removal in May 2026 for $2,437…read more A few things worth being aware of before hiring: The initial invoice charged for two seam repairs the technician on site confirmed weren't performed. It took several written exchanges to get the billing corrected. Their marketing text mentioned "before, progress, and after photos for complete transparency." I received 8 partial photos and was told in writing those were the complete set. The moss removal was a $1,479 line item on a roof I couldn't inspect from the ground. If you hire them, get a signed contract with clear scope, verify the invoice matches actual work performed, and confirm what documentation you'll receive during the work. I'd take the time to get multiple estimates and research other options before committing.

NorCal Dave made appt with me and had to cancel because he will ill on our first scheduled appointment; which is understandable. We rescheduled and then the evening before appointment he asked to cancel because he needed a haircut and his appointment was at 9AM and wanted to come later. I could not believe NorCal Dave would evening ask to change appointment for his haircut...WOW! Obviously, NorCal Dave did not want the job. Maybe when he looked that it was in Roseland he felt was not worth it or does not like the Roseland area. Just a story I told myself in my true disappointment with the unprofessional way this situation was treated. I see many 5 Stars for NorCal and sad to say not my experience and that just was only trying to make an appointment.

Walt Disney was once asked what he felt was most important that kept people coming back to…read moreDisneyland again and again. Even though they may have been there, done that, and bought more than a few t-shirts over the years, people still returned. He said that while "magic" was the main draw, the secret is to attend to all the details, make sure everything works, is clean and able to do whatever it's supposed to do. The same goes for most successful businesses, do it right and take nothing for granted. In this case it's the gutters on your roof that keep rain from going places where it's not supposed to go. If your roof isn't keeping things dry and without a doubt on your part, save yourself a lot of trouble and have Superior install seamless gutters and guards. In 2013 I decided it was time for a new roof on my house. I also decided it was time to quit risking my life every year cleaning out my old gutters. I had installed some DIY gutter guards on the old roof, the kind that work for maybe a year, then collapse like mine did. The guy I chose to install the roof recommended Superior Seamless for the gutters, which is how I met Cory when he prepared an estimate. He suggested I also have them install real, effective gutter guards that are securely attached no matter how hard the wind blows. The price was not only reasonable, it was well worth every dollar. I haven't climbed up on my roof since then... that's 12 years without a single drip or leak. Then came this year's first rainstorm, when one of the downspouts overflowed. The gutters seemed fine, but I called Cory and Jacob anyway to see what to do. In this case there was nothing wrong with the gutters or the guards, so not a problem that called upon their lifetime warranty, but they agreed to check it out anyway. Now to be clear, Superior isn't in the business of cleaning gutters. But when Jacob dropped by to check all the downspouts, he was kind enough to clear out the minor mounts of debris that had collected around some of the downspout openings over the past decade+. That is really incredible service. OK, so the business may not be as fun as Disneyland but Superior Seamless Gutters has something in common with it, in the way it operates. It's the same kind of business, with attention to details that people will come back to again, as I will if I live long enough to need another new roof and gutters on my house. Thanks, guys, you do things right.
