I totally understand. I tried to reconnect with him several times. Sometimes he picks up sometimes he doesn't. Last time we spoke we picked a tentative appointment date for him to come out. When I called him to confirm he wouldn't return my call. This has gone on for over a month and a half. Disappointed and a waste of time to say the least especially because he had other great reviews. Would Hire Again…read more [Project Scope] Removal and reinstallation of a 22-panel PV system and replacement of footers (parts that screw into the roof) as our roof was being replaced. Green Hill came as a recommendation by my roofer. Our PV system is a Sunrun lease, requiring contractor approval. Green Hill got me the necessary paperwork [Communication] Ida was project manager and was responsive over email and text. He handled communication with my roofer as well so the solar wouldn't be off the roof any longer than needed. We received photos of the work after each visit. [Workmanship] The same guys who removed the panels handled reinstallation. They kept things clean, other than a few parts and screws left on the roof after removal and prior to the reroof. After reinstall, they washed down the panels and confirmed the system was back and running. Both visits were less than a half day each. One big caveat: we've yet to have a heavy rain, so the mounts/penetrations/sealant has yet to be tested for watertightness.

We did a lot of research going into this project and had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted -- including battery storage, system sizing, and long-term efficiency. The team was receptive to that from day one and worked with us instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution. Communication was solid throughout the process. As with any solar project, there were a lot of moving parts (permitting, inspections, utility coordination), but they kept things moving and were responsive whenever we had questions. The conduit runs and equipment placement were well done, and everything looks neat and intentional -- which definitely matters for a system you'll be living with long-term. However, I'd like to make anyone aware who considers Treepublic as their solar installation company that their service leaves much to be desired. Since the installation of our solar system we've had several malfunctions that required intervention (fixes to the wiring and software related issues). Each time things played out along those lines: 1. I make a service call and/or leave a message with someone. Nobody gets back to me for days at a time. 2. I repeat service requests via email and voice mail 2-3 times before someone finally gets back to me, requesting detailed documentation. At this time usually about 2 weeks have passed since my initial reach-out. 3. The person that gets back to me assigns someone else to the service and that person usually isn't available for another week. When the assigned person arrives, that have no record of the issue and absolutely no information of the problem. All documentation that was already shared with Treepublic has gotten lost somewhere along the chain of command. 4. The assigns technician decides that they don't have the right expertise to solve the problem and reach back out to the office. 5. The loop repeats. I will also not a couple of positives and the reason i cannot assign one star: 1. The sales process was great and the sales rep was knowledgeable, making smart suggestions for the design of the system. 2. The installation process it's self was smooth, timely and professional Where Treepublic plainly sucks is on the communication front and when it comes to service after the initial installation. In our case the trouble started already prior to the installation: 1. After the final design was set and after a person had already measured our roof in person we signed the contract. After signing the contract we were suddenly told that the out roof could for 2 fewer panel than what was in the contract. I guess that can happen, but nobody ever owners up to the apparent mistake made when measuring the roof and writing the contract. 2. Once the correction had been made to the contract and installation was about to commence we were told the afternoon before the installation that the panels we had ordered were not available and that they would install somewhat less efficient panels instead. They offered a small adjustment to the contract instead. I mean ok, but shouldn't you offer some heads-up for such a change in specs and amend the contract first? My impression is that this is a company full of capable individuals but there always seem to me too many people involved shuffling information back and forth and things inevitably get lost in the shuffle. The whole process was smooth and super well-managed. From start to finish, the project took about three days. Big shout-out to our sales guy, Josh. He was the first person we talked to, got everything mapped out perfectly, and made sure we understood all the steps. He set the tone for the whole project and was there throughout making sure we were happy! I got an EV and they took my house from the 1940s to modern living, a total energy upgrade. Then, during the first rain this year, the power went out and the backup battery did not kick in. I contacted them and never heard back. Fortunately, it wasn't a long outage and the neighborhood's power came back on in about six hours . When the power went out again a couple of days later, the system finally kicked in. But... they had never gotten back to me as the company responsible for servicing us, so I'm not sure if they fixed it or it just started working on its own. They also failed to apply for a $2500 rebate that I have coming and now they don't return messages to me OR to the company that hired them in the first place due to some kind of falling out. Overall, VERY poor communication and service. I've been really patient, but I am not down for being outright ignored. For this reason I cannot recommend them.

The system was installed professionally and looks excellent. Since our meter change, our bill has decreased by 80%, even during winter. We look forward to seeing our savings in the summer. I hired AWS Solar to install solar panels on my home In May 2026. They completed the job a few…read moreweeks later. They did a very good jod. I am pleased. However, upon completeing the job, the project manager Tim Broughton called me, helped me log on to the Enphase app so that I could monitor the panels. After I confirmed that I was logged in, I was told that I was up and running And they were done. I was happy thinking I was now running on the sun. Wrong. So very wrong. I received my electric bill and astonished to see the electric portion was over $800.00. I called the power company and was told that the $130.00 application fee had not been paid. I notified Mr. Broughton and he immediatley saw that the bill for the application fee was paid and apologized for the error. Now the fun begins. I called the power company and asked when they would be out to install the proper meter for solar panels. I was informed that no application for a meter to be installed was on file and that I had to submit an application for interconnection. Hmm? No one mentioned anything to me about completing and application or that I had to contact the power company. I completed the PTO (Permission to Operate) form and based on the questions being asked and the information I needed to provide leads me to believe the Solar company was responsible for completing this form and sending the required fee. Ok. Lets not look to for someone to blame, lets just get the proper meter installed. I completed the PTO and submitted it. The power company came out a couple of weeks later and installed the a new meter. Onlyit was not a meter for solar panels. They installed the same new meter but it was the same meter as the meter I already had. I asked them why they didn't put on a solar meter and I was told that I needed to submit a PTO for a SOLAR METER, which is different. And by the way, they have a special person that installs solar meters and a special person to install regular meters. This seemed rather stupid to me. I ask the power comapany rep for the contact info for the solar department and he told he didn't know. I won't name the power company. LADwp. The one good thing the DWP rep did upon arriving to his office was to send an email to contact the proper department at the power company. I assumed he would have just gone about his business and let me flounder. I started on the second application which asked for job site photos. This was to me another indication that the solar installer was suppose to complete this form because Joe Citizen would not know what photos they were required. I did observe that periodically, the workers would take photos, but none were ever sent to me. Now I'm in the middle of August 2026 with fingers, legs, arms, eyes and anything else, maybe the dogs and cats, crossed hoping that this time I will get a meter. The bottom line is I would still recommend AWS SOLAR to anyone, but I'd have to caution them to make sure they get you connected and ALL fees are paid. Because I was dealing with the City of LA and being constantly sent to voice mail and waiting for call backs, this experience was horrendous.

It's 4 year in a row now the system failed to produce the minimum guaranteed production. AWS Solar chose to compensate for the shortfall again; we'll see what the 5th year production looks like. I suggested replacing some of the panels with the higher power ones to solve the issue, but I guess they want to see more data.
