I ordered some RayBan frames and took them and my prescription to Affordable Optics. Carla said, "I like the ones you're wearing better." I said "Me too!!!" and told her my tale of woe. She literally said, "Pffffft." They easily put new lenses in the old frames. I have since had two other pairs of glasses made by them--both with vintage frames. Well, the ones I looked at near LA were $1500 or more and figured I can't afford the latest craze in sun eyewear. NOPE! They had an entire selection of this style and for $7.99 (2 pair purchase). Are yous guys kidding me??? WOW!!! They are theee coolest pair of shades I ever purchased and get so many compliments and disbelief how cheap they were. I am beyond satisfied with my purchase but buyer beware, these are prolly made in "you know where" and the temple broke fairly quickly. Hence, handle with great care and gentility. If you have some super glue and a roll of hockey tape , consider the problem solved fyi. I continue to wear my repaired pair with hardly any notice of the fix. This works well for a black pair, I also purchased a stunning Pink Rainbow shade that might prove more challenging, but for some reason the temples are sturdier. High recommend for the latest styles, which for some reason was located in the rear of the store in a back aisle not visible from the entrance. I have been a LensCrafters customer for years, which is why this experience at the LensCrafters…read morelocation in The Shops was particularly frustrating and disappointing. I arrived for an eye exam appointment that had been confirmed weeks in advance, both by email and text. When I checked in, I was told by a male staff member with red hair that no one was there to perform my exam that day. When I explained that the appointment had been confirmed and asked what had happened, his response was essentially, shrug his shoulders and say "no one is here to help you today." When I expressed my frustration with this infromation, he did not care in the slightest. He explained that the online appointment system is unreliable and suggested it was my really my responsibility to call the store directly to make the appointment. What was most disappointing was not simply that the appointment could not be honored. Mistakes and scheduling problems happen. It was the complete lack of concern or effort to help resolve the situation. After giving that explanation, he simply walked away. Another staff member was somewhat more helpful and called the other LensCrafters location for us. We ultimately decided to go to the Desert Crossing location, where we received the professional, courteous service and genuine customer care that I have come to associate with LensCrafters. The contrast between the two locations could not have been clearer. I appreciate the Desert Crossing team for making things right, but after this experience, I will absolutely avoid the LensCrafters location in The Shops going forward. For a long-time customer, being told that a confirmed appointment is essentially not remotely confirmed, followed by "I don't really give a..." indifference when I needed help, is simply not the level of customer service I expect from LensCrafters.
