This had me "shopping around" and I ultimately ended up here at Target Optical this year. I was pretty apprehensive as I strongly dislike change, but soon after I began speaking with Dr Savery I found my new optician for the foreseeable future. Not many opticians to choose from here in Flagstaff, but this is a great one. Dr Savery and the staff at Target Optical was both personable and informative. I will be back next year, and the rest of my family will also be making the jump to Dr Savery and Target Optical. --UPDATE-- While everything above remains true, I later found out that this optometrist is outside of my network. Caveat Emptor, but I relied on the staff here to let me know that when I called to ask if they accepted my insurance. I ended up spending over $200 more on my contacts and exam than I would have with an in network provider. I would still highly recommend this office, but verify not only that they take your insurance, but that it's also in network.

Bought a pair a shoes and found they had their Patagonia gear on sale too so ended up getting some great Patagonia trail gear too that helped us stay warm on the unexpectedly cool summer morning runs which was in the 40Fs. Bring long sleeves and light weight running hoodies if running at dawn. I probably would still be there trying to figure out which frame fit my face better if it wasn't for the staff. They also accommodate for special needs and time sensitive circumstances as well. I did have a hiccup with my eye exam a few weeks ago, and needed to get it asap. They care about their customers enough to actually call to make sure I was ok! It's the little things like this that make me realize how lucky it is to have finally found a good optical group. I like not just being a number in line for glasses with a some large, vague corporate box company. It's family. They treat you right.

We swung in here to check out their selection during our stay in Flagstaff yesterday; I was looking for a new water bladder and even though I didn't find one that I could use for the pack I was using at the time, I really loved how they have a hand washing rig set up at the front of their store & they asked us to wash our hands before fully entering. Of course we took delight in this (simple, yet effective!) system since it was (just) a bucket, with an attached pump that you step on which pumps water out through a copper spigot. The only thing that was a lil hard to do was getting the soap dispenser to pump out soap since it's one you stick on a bathroom wall, and this was on a grid so you kinda had to squeeze the grid and the soap dispenser to make it work - but it worked! The selection of camping/hiking accessories and necessities were great - they have many different kinds of water bladders, clips, sleeping bags, light pullovers, some sling bags, sandals, backpacks, etc. The upstairs was a skateboard area which also made this shop more unique as it catered to more than just the camping & hiking public! The selection of boards, trucks, and also the colorful wall of frisbees really made it great to include these kinds of sports inside a mostly-geared-towards-camping/hiker shop!

They tell me they'll look with the lab, (no on-site lab anymore, sux) the other stores all over the state. They WILL find my glasses. Nope. 3 days later, the store manager calls me, says come in pick out new frames, they'll express my glasses. Guaranteed still by the 30th. I got a call Saturday Morning (the 30th), they "found" my old glasses, come get them. I get there... not my old frames, new Rx in the Technolite frames I'd picked out on Wednesday.
