Within seconds, the staff was on the phone to other stores and managers private numbers calling to see if they could help me. And help they did! By the end of the week I got my replacement pair of Ray-Bans, a $25 gift card for my troubles, and a very sweet note from the Manager who helped me. I really love them and would not have found them without Dorothy's help. Also, my eyes are different prescription strength. Getting glasses online or from a chain would not work for me because with those glasses one of my eyes would look huge and the other would look small. I have been using PL for decades and had no problems until the past year or so. The lenses I purchased (which have several coatings) began to deteriorate just weeks after purchase and I had to bring them back to be replaced---not once, but twice. This had never occurred in prior years. The second replacement pair continued to have wearing and peeling problems just weeks later, so I brought them to another Fairfield optician for review. I was told that the lens coatings were poor and had failed, and that the lens material (polycarbonate) was inferior to those available. So, I quickly ordered two sets of lenses and they are perfect. Among the improvements: my peripheral vision is now not distorted and my range of vision is much greater. So I simply wrote off the expense of the PL lenses. So, to sum up: the PL people are nice, but their current lab sucks. So, caveat emptor.

Dr. Noonan was rude, curt, dismissive and diminishing (there was no bedside manner whatsoever)! I was a new patient and didn't realize that if I wanted an eye exam plus an exam for contacts that I should be wearing my contacts(never had to do this at my last eye doctor) and he pretty much yelled at me for not having them in/with me. He was so short with me throughout the whole visit and I just can't understand why. I really should've just walked out when I noticed his very pronounced rudeness but stayed so that I could at least get a new glasses and contacts prescription. The front office staff were "meh" as I was not impressed by them at all. Though there was one woman who helped sort my insurance out and for that I'm appreciative. While the office is new you can clearly see that some of their systems are antiquated. I'm so used to being emailed or texted or sent a message via an app like "My Chart" by my other doctors' offices that I expected the same from this office. Apparently they couldn't reach me via telephone call in regards to my insurance so I didn't realize I even had an issue until I arrived at my appointment. I can't speak for the other doctor in the practice but Dr. Noonan was horrible and I just can't believe that I could have such a bad experience at an eye doctor of all places. Dr. Noonan treated me as though he could not be bothered with someone like me, as though getting this basic eye exam was asking too much of him. Needless to say I will NEVER step foot into Stratford Eye Care Associates again and they will NEVER see a dime of my money. I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND WILL NOT RETURN! None seemed to work right and were too difficult for me to adjust to. After visiting Grover, I come to find out that I have never been measured correctly and/or the lenses were not created correctly. Here, I felt like he spent time with me, did not push any particular technology and didn't feel the assembly line feeling or the pushy feeling I got from the places I tried previously. If you are happy with your current provider I see no reason to change but if you have been having difficulty with your glasses I think this might be a great place to try. He also gave me all my measurement information before I asked. Try getting that at a chain. Their dog was there, quiet, fluffy, soft and smelling clean sitting at my feet. Like a therapy dog :-)
