However, my last visit left me a little disappointed because while it was extremely relaxing and the service was great, I'm not so happy with how my actual nails turned out :-( I did the Volcano Spa service for both my pedicure and manicure which were absolutely lovely, along with gel remove and gel on both my fingers and toes. The 10 minutes of massage for both were so nice, especially the shoulders and upper back that came with the manicure. But during the gel remove, the gel on my fingers was removed with the drill. It was the same on my toes but I don't have an issue there. Normally I wouldn't mind, but my natural fingernails were drilled down so thin that even though I cut my nails short, they're ripping at the ends with normal daily wear and tear. I went on Saturday morning and I've had two nails rip at the ends already and it is only Tuesday morning. I'm not sure if it was because I came in with long nails already (imagine asking for a medium-long set) and they may have been mistaken for gel-x or something of the sort, but it was just my natural nails with gel on top. I can even feel on all of my fingernails just how thin they were drilled down because suddenly all my nails are very flimsy, even with several gel coats on top. The rest of the service and experience were great, so it's a bit disappointing to feel like I regret how much I paid because of how weak my fingernails became after this appointment. Regardless I would still return in the future if I want the pampering experience, but if I can do without the massage and just need my nails done I may choose another salon instead. Just something to note if you're someone who is worried about your nail strength. UPDATE 8/4 9:48PM: Another nail ripped pretty far down just from scratching my head :-(

I made an appointment, but they were able to see me early. There were no other customers at the time, likely because of the rain. I asked for about 2 inches off, and I appreciated that the stylist listened and did not cut off more than I requested. She finished my V-shaped haircut in about 30 minutes, and the cut looked clean. During the haircut, she asked if I wanted layers and I said yes. Looking back, that was my mistake since I usually do not get layers, and I wish I had skipped them this time. The inside of the salon is what you would expect from a typical Chinese hair salon. It looks fairly clean and is very no-frills. The total came out to $40 before tip. Overall, this is a solid spot I have trusted for years when I need a straightforward trim.

I've tried places like the nail salons at Serramonte, I've tired threading somewhere in Milpitas but it never turned out the way I wanted to and plus, they were kind of far from me. I found out about this little place about a year or two ago while looking for places near where I live and this place is seriously my GO-TO place every time I come back from college for a weekend. The owner is SUPER nice and she takes so much time to do my eyebrows. She always converses with me and asks about my parents and tell me about her family, it's a good experience! And I guess I go there enough for her to remember me every time I come back because she recalls what school I go to and everything. Recently, my friends did my eyebrows for a wedding and she messed up my eyebrows and it's been a month and they haven't grown back out and it looks so weird. Thank goodness, I just finished my summer session so I came here right when I got back and she fixed it right up! My eyebrows look the same and though they are thinner (but not to the point where it's just a line), they look good and my friends have been complimenting it. Plus, it's only $8 which is cheaper than regular waxing places. I have yet to try getting nails done and whatnot but the prices are not bad at all! Two things that I can't ignore and hope management reads this. 1. There is room for improvement on the locker room getting so crowded. 2. Do NOT trust the sandals. They are plastic and incredibly slippery when wet. Since they are not sized to the individual, it's dangerous. I slipped out of my sandals and fell down the stairs in the large Russian Sauna. This resulted in multiple abrasions and a large laceration on my forearm and I actually got stitches for the first time. Sandals have to be fixed, there's stairs everywhere here. The people in the sauna were super nice and helped me, luckily, I'm pretty fit, but it could've been really really bad. Credit to the staff for not charging me for my time there, honestly, I would've rather paid and left uninjured. I'm not 100% sure that I would return, it just happened today so maybe in time that will change.

The only noticeable result was redness and over-threading in areas where I barely even have eyebrow hair. They hardly trimmed anything, and I genuinely walked out looking exactly the same as when I walked in. I was so disappointed and drained that I didn't even have the energy to say anything in the moment. On top of that, the space feels very outdated, and the lighting is terrible--which doesn't help when you're trusting someone with your face. If you genuinely enjoy this place, I'm honestly concerned.
