As she was getting started she asked if I liked medium or hard pressure - I said hard, and boy was it (in the best way); she did also check in a few times to make sure the pressure was okay - especially when she was working on a particularly gnarly spot. As she quickly discovered, my shoulders and neck were a mess - she managed to get all of the knots out and still have time to spare for everything else. Who knew my calves were so tight? Not me! I would 100% recommend Jenny. My only problem now is figuring out how many massages I can responsibly budget into my life.

Luckily, I had my husband drop me off, but if you need to park, I would definitely come a little earlier to give yourself some extra time! My massage therapist was Christine, who was very nice and seemed knowledgeable about her techniques. However, I indicated on my form that I preferred medium pressure and was surprised by how hard the pressure ended up being. I actually developed a giant purple bruise on the side of my glutes afterward, which was pretty unsettling especially since this was a prenatal massage. She was also very social and this was probably the first massage I've had where I chatted throughout almost the entire thing lol. Between the conversation and the much deeper pressure than I was expecting, I unfortunately didn't find the experience as relaxing as I had hoped. I think she could be a good fit for someone who enjoys very deep pressure and likes chatting during their massage, but it wasn't really the experience I was looking for.

Great me time: relaxing in the hot tub, steam room (really appreciated trying the salt rub!), cold plunge, sauna. Half wear swimsuits and half are nude on a women's day. There were about 20 guests at any given time in the wet baths area. Love the towels in ice and the cucumber and lemon water The locker area can be a tight squeeze during peak times (especially right before people are starting their massage appointments) so I sat to the side and waited for it to clear out. Only one blowdryer, it is in the restroom in the larger hallway. Please hang your towel and stuff up and don't leave it on chairs or lounger. There wasn't enough lie down lounge space and someone claimed one chair the whole 4 hours I was there (they weren't actively using it)

I called to book him an appointment the day before and told the receptionist that I would prefer someone good and I asked if a male masseuse would be better. She stated that actually the female masseuse would be better if I was comfortable and I appreciated that and said yes I would love the female masseuse for my husband. She the tells me all the accolades the female masseuse that will be working on my husbands back has. Next day, my husband arrives and ends up with Rafael. My husband said Rafael did what he could but unfortunately did not get most of his knots out. When he got home, I massaged his back and was surprised with the amount of knots he still had. It was as if he never got his deep tissue massage. I'm deeply saddened because my husband still ended up paying out of pocket (expensive massage) and he did not feel relaxed after. On top of that, my husband sends me pictures of the locker room that was under construction and said guys were going on and out while he was changing. Very disappointing experience compared to the many other massage spots in SF.

I've trusted Irina since my very first appointment. She's incredibly talented and consistent, and you can feel the care she's put into the salon and her team. Irina did my birthday nails, and they're the best set I've ever had. I keep looking at the little blue and gold details and smiling. Everyone at Nail It makes me feel welcome and comfortable every time I visit. It's such a lovely place to spend at any time of the day or evening, and I'm so glad I found it. The appointments don't feel too long and everything is so CLEAN!

Honestly, I've been coming to this location for Russian pedicures for about a year and a half, but…read moremy last four visits have been extremely uncomfortable. Each time, the nail technician has been very heavy handed and careless with the drill and cuticle work. They use the drill at such a high speed that I can feel a burning sensation, and I've repeatedly been cut to the point of bleeding. After my most recent appointment, nearly every toe felt raw and painful. During a previous visit, the technician appeared to try to cover the bleeding with an alcohol pad, which was incredibly painful. I was also surprised by the pricing. My Russian pedicures here have normally been around $120, but this visit came to $160 before tip. I knew the French tip would cost an additional $20, but when the technician offered to repair one broken nail, she didn't mention that it would cost another $20. I only learned about the charge when it was time to pay. The staff members have been pleasant, but after leaving with cuts and bleeding four times in a row, I can't overlook how physically rough the service has been. A premium pedicure at this price should not leave someone's toes bleeding, burning, and raw, and all additional charges should be clearly communicated beforehand.

For the last five years, I was extremely lucky to have a very good pedicurist Elsa working across…read morethe street from me. I would visit her once every seven weeks like clockwork, as waiting longer usually meant some painful debridement on the big toe of my right foot. Elsa changed professions about ten days ago, leaving me to scramble to find someone in my area who could provide a similar quality of service in roughly the same price range. After some search engine trial-and-error, I finally got a Google page that listed three salons that offered a simple pedicure at a reasonable rate. The closest of these was Mani-Pedi Spa. Even though they take walk-ins, I called on Tuesday 9/22 and made an appointment for 11 am the following day. I was greeted by Gwen, who immediately pegged me as a guy who probably just wanted his nails clipped and nothing else. She walked me over to a wall display and asked me to choose a favorite nail color. It took me a few seconds to realize she was joking. (Good icebreaker, Gwen!) Anyway, the pedicure was not only thorough but absolutely painless. Granted, it took about 15 minutes longer than what I was used to, but I consider that a very reasonable tradeoff for a job done with the precision of a jeweler or a watchmaker. Once we were done, Gwen walked me to a lady at a desk at the back of the shop. That made it easy for me to hand the desk lady the pedicure fee and hand Gwen the tip at about the same time. I decided to wait a few days before posting my review, just to make sure there was no residual pain or swelling near the problem toe. That milestone has been cleared, and it looks like I now have a new regular pedicurist to see somewhere around November 11. Thanks, Gwen. Great job!
