In addition to a very mechanical massage, they didn't really listen to specific requests though they said they would on the front end. I was thinking the 1 star review here may be from people who have never been to an Asian massage place and wouldn't understand and I give a benefit of a doubt. However, this place was a very tense interaction upon beginning to end. To start, she charges the service plus "suggested" but actually was a mandatory 30% tip upfront before the massage even started and adds on $3 credit card charge per person, per hour, per card. It seemed excessive, but I wasn't going to complain over $6 credit card charge at the moment but I did say we will tip after the massage. During, my friend politely asked if we can pull the curtains because it's next to the sidewalk where people are walking and she didn't feel comfortable where she was laying down. I overhear them speak in Chinese with each other being annoyed about our simple request. The massage wasn't good and it was uncomfortable some parts. It felt like they likely kneaded some dough basically. My muscles were still ache-y/sore at the end of it. After, my friend and I both felt uncomfortable about the whole experience and agreed 15% tip is what we wanted to give. She was angry and wasn't allowing the charge and was negotiating/demanding the 30% tip. We were pretty uncomfortable from beginning to end and said 15% is us being nice, because we honestly did not like the whole experience. However, she was holding on to our credit card until she got an agreement on a negotiated tip amount and said she was going to waive the additional $6 credit card charge as a favor. Wow it was going to be $12 total for a credit card charge? That's crazy. This is not how you run your business. I agree you should tip in the service industry, but it should be after the service and it shouldn't be mandatory 30% if you didn't like it read more

Did a 90 minute session with Lily. This girl is amazing, knows how to stretch and apply (really strong) pressure to my trouble spots. Had major issues with my neck and mid/lower back. Some masseuses don't really pay attention to your reaction when they apply too much but Lily was extremely attentive. Walked out of there with my neck and back pain completely gone. Love this place for a massage, and great customer service. I've been here a few times for a full body massage and have always had a great experience, which has kept me coming back over the past year. Until today, when I went in for a 90 minute full body massage and was very disappointed in the service. When I let Kelly know what happened, she immediately offered to make up for it with a free 30 minute massage, where she focused on the parts of my body that were especially bothering me and worked the knots out beautifully. I tried as hard as I could to give her a tip to show my appreciation, and she refused to take it. 5 stars for usually giving a great massage, and for going above and beyond to make it right when a client is disappointed. read more

The woman who gave my reflexology clearly has never done a reflexology massage, she literally gave me a massage I'd get at a cheap pedicure spot. The full body massage was more like a full beating massage. The woman dragged me off the table practically, I was being tossed around like a rag doll and there was ZERO technique. This place is great. The lady there knows what she's doing. Bring cash if you don't want to charge additional $3 to use your card and 20% tip is require which was new to me. While the shop is quiet and clean, two of us walked in after hiking up and down the mean hills of San Francisco and needed some relief. We agreed to the 60 minute body and foot massage for $39.99 each. Great...we sit in the chairs, she puts our feet in buckets of water, tosses in a tea bag and we sit, soak, and relax. Nice! About ten minutes pass and in comes another woman in a hurry...they had to call someone to come in and work with them as there was only one woman in the shop I guess. The owner worked on my friend while the other woman worked on me. She was watching everything the other woman did and tried to mimic it. At several points I said "OW" and asked her to go softer...either she didn't understand or she didn't care. Even the owner said something. I did not have to pay upfront and since I paid in cash, no one ever asked for more than a 20% tip. I gave her the bills and left...with a lower back that was in pain now, but not before, and with feet that hurt way more after than when I went in. I'll be avoiding them next time I'm in town. This is not Chinese reflexology as advertised. If you want that...stay in the heart of Chinatown and find a walk in place which is more traditional. read more

I decided to get the combo (body and reflexology) since they only have 2 rooms. diagrams of the feet and hands were next to the chairs, so I was hopeful this would be a good massage. Unfortunately, it was the worst massage of my life!! It was clear that the last minute person they called had never given a massage! She did not work each area of the foot; she used 3 motions continuously for 30 minutes. To make matters worse, we we required to pay up front. Went here after seeing the great reviews on Yelp. It's clean and easy to find. And they accept walk-ins. That said, they charge a mandatory 20%tip! So a combo foot and back massage was $45 but you have pay an additional $9 for a tip. Second the foot massage wasn't great. I realize it can be painful with pressing pressure points but there didn't seem to be a balance to hit all parts of my foot. And lastly when new customers come in it's loud. The foot massage are done in a big room where you can see the door so people walking in can be disruptive. read more
