Wow. There is a reason this place only charges $50 for a 1 hour massage. I was hesitant to begin with since I couldn't really find any reviews on this place, even though I googled for them. But I thought, maybe they're new and thus the promotion. I'll give it a shot. My mistake! Never have experienced such horrible service and massage! The staff is all Asian and communication is definitely not their strong suit...and sadly neither is massage!
I had been having neck and shoulder soreness for weeks and was in desperate need of a massage but due to the holidays, was on a budge so that's why their website rates were so appealing. I called for an appointment and was hoping to get in that day, but the lady who answered said they were booked all day. Okay, how about tomorrow I asked and so she said yes, I could come anytime tomorrow. Okay, what time specifically then?? (and suggested a time) she said ya okay and started to hang up and I was like "Um, wait don't you need my name??" She was like "oh ya, what your name?" I could only get my first name out before she rushed me off the phone, didn't even take my last name or a phone number. I arrived for my appointment the next day only to be told the girl I had been booked with was out sick and they were booked...um, see a phone number would have been handy to call and tell me this after I rearranged my day. I explained and they said ok, one of them would take me but only for a 60 min (I had booked a 90 min originally). Okay, great. But I was then asked to PRE-pay for the massage which I thought was odd. Normally with any service-based business, they charge you at the end so you can include tip. But they were rushing me and so it wasn't till we got in the room I asked about that and she was like "oh, ya we do it again at the end" Hmmm ok, wouldn't have been more efficient to do it all at once? Anyhow...
The space itself was nice and spa-looking and she brought me into a room but the table was not heated and so she said she would turn on this fan heater (which turned the whole air dry and heater-fan-like leaving my throat dry for hours after). She was about to leave so I could change and hadn't even given me instruction on if she wanted me face up or down first, so I had to ask. Once the massage started, she didn't even ask me what I wanted, if there were trouble areas or anything and just started with this up and down stroke on my back, she did this same stroke for the next 10 mins and there was barely any pressure and no variety. I asked for more pressure and she said she would increase it but really didn't. The massage had no variation and at one point she just stopped and left the room for several minutes and never said anything to me...I waited and waited and then thought "okkkay, maybe it's over? So I got up and started getting dress and of course at that moment she returns with hot towels to wipe off the lotion on my back. She resumed the massage and quickly did my legs (not my feet at all) and my arms and then at the end told me she was finished. Also, there was no music except these very faint sounds of what sounded like a spa track being played on an phone somewhere (no speaker) and it was not even audible over the fan. REALLY???
I was feeling like this whole massage had been a completely waste of time and money and didn't even want to tip and I'm an excellent tipper. But I still gave her my card and told her an amount and can you believe she actually had the aduacity to suggest to me I tip 50% more??? I was completely stunned by her rudeness as I was already tipping 20% (and that was for a terrible massage!) I told her no, because it was not a very good massage. She left to run my card and when she came back I told her they should charge at the end so we could fill in our tip at that time, and that tip was discretionary. She didn't even acknowledge me and just walked off. I couldn't believe it! I will NEVER go back here and wanted to make sure there was a review of this foolishness somewhere so others wouldn't fall prey to the same mistake I did. read more
