I have never written a review and I think I have a pretty good tolerance level for bad service. The service at this clinic was so abysmal that I had to make an exception to write this review to inform others to stay far far away. I got sick with a pretty bad infection while traveling outside the US. I had high fever and some other pretty bad symptoms for 3 days after coming back to the US. My father is a primary care physician and thought that my symptoms seemed to indicate an infection so I should get myself checked out. My regular primary was unavailable and referred me to Dr. Maddineni. Here is what happened.
- Wrong dosage: I called on a Friday morning and got an appointment that afternoon. Even after showing up right on time, we were made to wait over an hour. The doctor spent not more than 5 min with me and said she thinks the infection is X and I should start medicine Y. She ordered a bunch of blood and stool tests and asked me to use the Labcorp office in the same facility. She said that if I don't feel better she would try something else, but it looks like it is X. She gave me one sample Y pill and ordered the rest from a pharmacy. I spoke to my father that day and told him about the prescribed treatment. He asked me to check with Dr. Maddineni again about the dosage as he said that usual prescription for X is the same tablet twice a day instead of once a day. I was able to reach Dr. Maddineni and she said she thought it was right, but would confirm and call me back. 5 min later she called me back and what do you know, the dosage was indeed wrong. She adjusted the dosage to twice a day and said that she would call my pharmacy for the extra pills. X is a pretty serious infection and I don't know what would have happened if my father did not cross-check. The only positive, the Dr apologized for making a mistake.
- Reports: It was important to confirm the diagnosis, so I called their office on Monday. The receptionist said it takes 2-5 business days for blood tests to come back. My fever was not going away after 3 days of medicine, so I really wanted more info. Over the next 2.5 weeks, I called their office multiple times asking for reports. It was really difficult to get all the reports and they only shared partial results. I spoke to the doctor once and she said that most tests were negative, so it did not look like X, but the test that would be the most informational was not ready. After a week of medicines, I started to feel better. I had given up on the doctor and her office by then, so I instead just talked to my dad until I felt better.
- Arrogant reception: Whenever I called the office, the same receptionist would pick up and put me on hold at least 5-10 min each time. I asked multiple times that I would like the reports to be sent to me. 2.5 weeks later after the 4-5th call for begging for my own reports, she finally created an account on their portal and said she would upload the reports. Even this was not done right!! No PDF attachments came through. I called her again and she said she does not know how to help me. As a final resort, she said she would send my reports by mail (lets see if they actually come in :)).
I was really disappointed as the doctor herself did come across as caring and polite. I wish I could say the same about her staff and the service. read more
