The food is good. I love the breakfast buffet on Sunday mornings. Only problem is the waitresses are super slow.

Finally, he called someone on the phone who was able to locate my reservation. IN the meantime, I looked around the lobby: dirty walls, smelled funky, worn carpet, and fraying furniture. This place is nothing like the pictures they post online. By the way: the Best Places rating they brag about online is from 2018! When I spoke to the person on the phone, I told him I did not want to stay and asked if I would be charged if I chose not to stay. He said "NO" I would not be charged. I left and found another hotel in town for my wife and I. Now that I am home, I checked my credit card and see that I was charged the full amount. I called the Motel to discuss and spoke to the same person as before: he lied and said we never talked about canceling and he never said I would not be charged. I am disputing the charge with my bank. Bottom line: this is not a nice place and is staffed with people who only want your money. Read the recent reviews of this property and move on. It is not what is represented.

Goback in time the bathrooms are almost a liveable suite. Huge living room in entrance with sofas, fireplace, etc. You never wanna leave hom here. Ranch restaurant across the street. Wyoming is an unforgiven place. Harder than the Alamo. They want you to "307 full". I found good neighbors and friends here, that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. My ex husband begs to differ. You have to be willing to wait a long time to be accepted and drive a lot. Steamboat still rocks On full blast!

The pro: 1. $60 a night was the cheapest in town. 2. Shower kinda worked and AC was cool enough, more on that The cons: 1. High crime area: A vehicle was broken into overnight during my stay. 2. Weekly rates. 3. Owner did not answer me when I asked if they offer a AAA discount, maybe because his kids were yelling about and making a small ruckus? 4. Checking out, same thing. Rang the bell, kid comes out to greet me. I think they need to make her a nametag and give her a W2 at this point... 5. The room: DIRTY. Soap scum on the soap...bag, bottle, blister pack, whachamacallit? See pics 5a. Mirrors streaked and dirty 5b. Hair on my bed. Yuck. Whatever, I was too tired to care. 5c. Table and windowsill had marks from old food, condensation off water glasses, etc 5d. Speaking of which, a little glass cleaner and a microfibre towel would work wonders on the windows 5e. Still has a room key, not a card. Wow, haven't seen that since...maybe 2002ish, Curry Village, Yosemite? 6. Room was 90 plus degrees upon initial entry. AC Set to 61, took hours to cool down. 7. Kind of tight parking lot, use the outer lot Perhaps, this would be a 5 star review absent the rooms filth and the lack of professionalism from the owner. Seriously, I've worked retail, restaurant, auto shops, janitorial, construction, and motel roomskeeping my whole life: A little bit of good smelling disinfectant, Windex, Kaboom and a carpet shampooer would go a lllooonnngggg way here. Until then, skip.

But when we got to the motel he tried telling me I only reserved a one bed room (I didn't, I reserved a two bed room because as much as I love my dad, I would rather not share a bed with him and my spouse). I showed him my printed reservation, and he told me he changed the room because he assumed we would only need one bed. He then told me I could have one bed or go to another motel. What a wonderful experience...... Save yourself and get another room. Others in town would be a few dollars more, but worth it.

He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead, a snuffed-out candle..." It was the evening of the 2017 total solar eclipse. I was in the middle of an epic motorcycle trip and I had just witnessed the most spectacular celestial event I have ever seen. It was fantastic and I was still riding this high when I pulled into Riverton. The eclipse brought in quite a few "outsiders" to the town and most hotels were booked and a traffic delay had caused me to change my camping plans. I rode through town and found two somewhat worn-out looking motels still advertising vacancy. I got to the edge of town, turned around, and pulled into the first one I came across. The Ol' Wyoming. It was there I met the snuffed out candle. It was only about 9:00 p.m. but the town seemed to tuck-in early. I rang the bell for the Ol' Wyoming and a large, tough looking guy answered the door and made it apparent that I was a disruption. He scowled, then barked that he had a room and told me to come in. He was checking something on his computer and I was still so excited about what I had seen that day so I asked him if they had good weather for the eclipse. Smoldering Candle: "I wouldn't know. I never saw it. I dont care about nature and crap like that! Cant you see all the idiots in town! I was working all day and I just want to go to bed". Now friends, this may not be exactly what was said but it is the jest of the conversation to the best of my recollection.. As I recall the exchange was a bit more vulgar and perhaps a little mockingly he gave me the stink-eye. He then quoted me a price for the room. It was going to be 3X the going rate traveler, we take cash or credit cards. My first thought was "what? he was here and did not even step outside to see it?". My next thought was "So much for the advertised low rates". No wonder there was a room left. Some desperate sod will roll into town around midnight and that will be his only option. Probably doubled in price again by that time. Ugh. I said thanks and went to the next dump that still had rooms available. A sweet old lady gave me that room for $50. That was a stretch for that room too but hell if I was going to give my cash to the snuffed out candle. Maybe the Ol' Wyoming only had one room left and he was trying to maximize his profits. I dont know. Perchance it was the nicest room left in Riverton. I seriously doubt it but I'll never know becasue I'll never go back to the Ol' Wyoming. The place has no heart.
