I received a 20 minute reading as well from the guest Psychic, Tamara and she was absolutely phenomenal. The real deal! This shop is full of so much healing energy and peaceful energy. On top of that, they have very clear moral values and support the right things. Love to see that with a business! Last but not least, the pricing was extremely fair and the employee wrapped everything so carefully for us. Wish we were local to Ojai, because we'd be here every week! Hope to visit again in the future.

A bit of shabby chic meets Asian Bali inspired. It might be somewhat of a spiritual type of store. Is it a reoccurring theme as every store you walk into along the main strip all carries some sort of dish ware. They're all very beautiful. Regardless if it's solid color or a beautiful print. They're all amazing. Loads of spiritual books, beautiful effortless pieces of clothing. Beautiful hand made pieces from all over Asia. There were some artwork on the wall but the main attraction was the massive red door leaning against one wall. Not sure if it's for sale but it was incredible. There some pieces of furniture on display as well but that could just be for show. The store has a nice calm feel when you walk in and browse through. Beautiful items on displays throughout the store.

One of the gals mentioned they knew the owner of the place that we should check out the store and see if the owner was in town. While waiting for the owner we took a look around and found some cute, fun and funny things! They had a Christmas tree decorated with camping themed merchandise which of course caught our attention. They had a little bit of everything for almost everyone and any age. Well, maybe not for infants at least i don't recall seeing anything for infants. The found the prices on some of the merchandise to be reasonable. Some of the clothing were on the pricey side. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although I didn't purchase the really cute, and funny kitchen towels, I did purchase a couple of stickers (I enjoy stickers!). This business will find me here again if ever in the area.

They've always done a good job of creating small vignettes to show off different themes. This being Ventura, they definitely carry a lot of beach-themed items. One area that caught my eye this time was a section with camping / get outdoors / celebrating the National Parks merchandise. Some very cute and unique stuff to be had in that section. I found something for my aunt to make as a gift. She's making a goal to get around to all of the National Parks, and is steadily chipping away at it. What I got will help memorialize that in a whimsical way. The ladies who work the store are friendly and helpful, which makes the shopping experience even more delightful. Take your sense of humor in when you visit - you never know what you'll find to make you smile and even laugh out loud.

I heard about this place from the other chill vintage shop in East'ish Ojai. It's mostly women's…read morestuff right now. I brought a date there and picked up a vintage army shirt. A friend of the previous owner of the shirt was there and gave us a story about him that added to the appeal. She says she gets comments about it all the time. It's become one of her favourite pieces to wear. You can wake up early and bounce around yard sales and such or you can come here, save time, have fun then get some grub the next block over. Gems abound. The owner and her boyfriend are authentic locals and mad cool. Talk about anything from philosophy, Chi Gong, surfing or badass vintage cars.

The team is so approachable and welcoming, so looking for niche romance novels is never intimidating. I'm a sucker for a good and cheesy romance novel and this spot meets my needs and more. In addition they carry beautiful local made trinkets and have the best selection of book related stickers!! Everything is reasonably priced and you have the added benefit of supporting a lovely Ventura business. Smitten holds release parties and while I didn't get to attend the one I purchased they held my book for me and even kept a pin for me that they gave out at the party! I also saw tarot cards for dogs being sold, which made me smile. For a small to medium space, they make the most of fun and original books and other inspired art. In the back, there's a small meeting space. On the website, they have a lot of events - everything from book club meetings, tarot card readings, a journaling club, a writing club, book swaps, and more. I attended one of the book clubs, where everyone expressively and passionately explained the moments they liked and didn't like from the book. I would never have read such an entertaining and creative book if not for Smitten's book club. The book discussion made me like the book even more through everyone's inspiring analysis. It's an eclectic selection of new and vintage items, and ranges from local artists and makers to smaller American and European companies. I've purchased everything from temporary tattoos, to jewelry, to dish towels (from a company that hires and supports new immigrants), to blown glass, to an entryway mat, to a beautiful recycled glass vase from a 80+ year old Polish company. I highly recommend checking it out - and then popping next door to Palm & Boy for a coffee, yummy açaí bowl or delish gluten-free, vegan pastry. You can't go wrong!
