    Incense and ceramics

As I was leaving Ojai, I stumbled upon an old gasoline station, that turned out to be Summer Camp. It's a wonderful store with souvenirs from local vendors in Ojai as well as California, candles (Pf Company and Ojai vibes scented candles), incense, new and vintage maps, jewelry, art prints and so much more. All fit the theme of summer time on the countryside and the great outdoors. This store is a wonderful place to come and purchase a gift for yourself or friend. There was a lovely lady who welcomed us into the store and she was really helpful. I essentially wanted to purchase everything from the candles to the prints but ultimately decided on a card that had lemons, orange, lavender, and sage on it and I can frame it and put it in the kitchen. Speaking of framing, this place will custom frame your art prints and paintings as well, so if you have art, photographs or if you just want to buy a frame, look no further.

    Lovely nature inspired goods!

I think my friend said it best, "Summer Camp reminds me of a Wes Anderson film, like "Moonrise Kingdom". BINGO! It's no wonder I fell in love with this store situated in a former old automobile service station! This place totally caters to the taste of the nature loving hipster. Even so, upon walking into this space, they were playing my favorite indie folk band, Fleet Foxes. I felt immediately at home (I have hipster tendencies without looking like one necessarily, but I digress...) No need to worry. You don't need to be a hipster to peruse their items or even buy their goods. Customers can feel totally comfortable here without the pressure to buy. But believe me, when you check out their stuff, you're gonna wanna buy! I found this place to be friendly, but in that give-the-customer-plenty-of-breathing-room sort of way. That's the way I like it. This store consists of two spaces: one for custom framing and the other portion selling gifts for yourself and others. They have a plethora of items from various local vendors, mostly vintage inspired/actual vintage and of the ecofriendly persuasion: soy candles with scents like sage and spruce, old fishing and picnic baskets, cards from Small Adventure (I love this company), leather goods, aromatic oils, beautiful woolen blankets and scarves, incense and holders, old camp gear that reminds me of my childhood, and oh, so much more! I ended up purchasing a lovely scarf, a bronze bear incense holder, and a lovely card for a friend. What is great is that their prices are pretty reasonable. Seriously, this is such a beautiful store. The next time I'm in Ojai, I will be sure to visit Summer Camp. I'm telling others to do the same as well!

An old gas station of all places turns out to be the most fitting framework for a custom framing, home decor, lifestyle goods shop and events space. On top of that, the spatial repurposing is as unique as the collections of artisan ceramics, handmade soaps and candles, accessories, camping gear, t-shirts and canvas bags. All goods are made by local and American artists, which can definitely be appreciated. This is a great place to look for one-of-a-kind gifts. Cutest store!!! Loved everything in there and the vibe. Staff was friendly and welcomed my little dog with open arms. Mural in the back of the store is awesome. Excited to light my Ojai Vibes scented candle. I had to control myself and not buy everything!!! My only wish is they had more stuff!!! Also the prices on some of the items were a touch high but there were a lot of unique pieces so somewhat understandable.

Super cool place. View from the street.

Worker was rude. Not a place to shop if you have children with you. Go somewhere else with your money.

Very cute little store to stop in and see beautifully made handmade pieces. The candles are fantastic as are the ceramics!

My wife and I saw this old gas station close to the intersection of the 33 and 150 with a sign out front and decided to check it out.

Homeware, garden items with both indoor and outdoor pieces. The store inside has so many cute jewelry pieces, home decors, a baby section with loads of cute clothes and toys. Loads of gifts for any occasion as well as some apparel. They also have such an amazing collection of decorative pillows all with beautiful prints. It's a garden center meets home decors. Such a beautiful spot for a wander through. Also, the walkway is a major spot for photos as we always have encountered people striking a pose. One of the best kept secrets store of Ojai. Maybe not secret but a must see whenever you're here. I'm Sure there's something that will catch your eyes.

It's located in a parking lot behind the main strip and in a residential area. All street parking but it tends to be pretty easy. There's a bakery vendors that I've had a few times but they do sell out quite fast. Their fresh baked bread and sweets are one not to be missed. This visit, they weren't there in their usual section so I assume they were pretty much sold out fast. Loads of fresh organic vendors with all their goods. As it was summer, there were so many vendors with amazing tomatoes. Heirlooms, grape tomatoes and so all. Everything all looked so fresh and I'm sure it was straight from the farm that morning. Also loads of other vendors selling their homemade goods, like soap to candles to everything in between. Majority of the vendors are fresh produce so you know you'll be picking up fresh farm products. Also fresh flowers are always a must when a visiting the farmers market. Can't forget the fresh berries and fruits. Doesn't scream summer without all the fresh berries straight of the plant. Regardless what you're looking for or not, I'm sure you'll always leave with plenty of fresh things at this market. Their items are always so fresh. A must whenever I'm Ojai. It's always on a Sunday morning.

Prices are a bit more than Oxnard prices but I do think it's great to support local especially seeing the quality difference between local vendors and grocery stores. $13 for eggs still seems a bit steep for recovering from the egg hiked prices where they are now back to $6-7 in grocery stores. There was a vendor that sells sourdough breads and she was quite popular has she always had a line. Caroline's preservative jams are amazing in flavor and quality. I also appreciated that Centri Coffee was there so that I could buy some whole beans.

A bit of shabby chic meets Asian Bali inspired. It might be somewhat of a spiritual type of store. They're all amazing. Loads of spiritual books, beautiful effortless pieces of clothing. Beautiful hand made pieces from all over Asia. There were some artwork on the wall but the main attraction was the massive red door leaning against one wall. Not sure if it's for sale but it was incredible. There some pieces of furniture on display as well but that could just be for show. The store has a nice calm feel when you walk in and browse through. Right on Ojai Ave, so I hope the owners take full advantage of the opportunity and go all out with inventory if possible. It was lavender season, so things like lavender sugar, lavender simple syrups, lavender teas, bags of lavender would have been nice for sale. They gave me a handwritten receipt on a nice quality piece of paper with the business letterhead, so that felt cool. It felt like going back in time to the old ways of giving receipts. I hope this small business survives. Reach out if you'd like ideas because I'm full of them.
