They have so many different options for gifts for yourself or to but for family and friends. Two of my friends tween daughters were there and I asked them to help me shop. They immediately pointed me to the Nest shirts and the caps were their second choice. Then they showed me all the candles- so many to choose from!! The store has some unique food options, such as canned mussels, tuna in Spanish olive oil, fig spread, salami crackers, cereals, oils, salts. Plenty to make a delicious picnic!! They have kitchenware such as wine "pints", bowls, linens, cutting boards, knives, spreaders, serving utensils. Currently also carrying some crafty Christmas decorations. I could go on and on. They have artfully packed a LOT into this store. Visit the store to see for yourself. Shop and support local business!

We visited Ojai House today and were amazed by all the selection! We left with so many tuning…read moreforks, sound bowls and crystals. The employee was very kind and extremely helpful. I received a 20 minute reading as well from the guest Psychic, Tamara and she was absolutely phenomenal. The real deal! This shop is full of so much healing energy and peaceful energy. On top of that, they have very clear moral values and support the right things. Love to see that with a business! Last but not least, the pricing was extremely fair and the employee wrapped everything so carefully for us. Wish we were local to Ojai, because we'd be here every week! Hope to visit again in the future.

Ojai Farmers' Market

We arrived towards the end of the market as they were starting to pack up and put things away…read more Still there were plenty of vendors still there offering their goods but slowly shifting and packing up. It's located in a parking lot behind the main strip and in a residential area. All street parking but it tends to be pretty easy. There's a bakery vendors that I've had a few times but they do sell out quite fast. Their fresh baked bread and sweets are one not to be missed. This visit, they weren't there in their usual section so I assume they were pretty much sold out fast. Loads of fresh organic vendors with all their goods. As it was summer, there were so many vendors with amazing tomatoes. Heirlooms, grape tomatoes and so all. Everything all looked so fresh and I'm sure it was straight from the farm that morning. Also loads of other vendors selling their homemade goods, like soap to candles to everything in between. Majority of the vendors are fresh produce so you know you'll be picking up fresh farm products. Also fresh flowers are always a must when a visiting the farmers market. Can't forget the fresh berries and fruits. Doesn't scream summer without all the fresh berries straight of the plant. Regardless what you're looking for or not, I'm sure you'll always leave with plenty of fresh things at this market. Their items are always so fresh. A must whenever I'm Ojai. It's always on a Sunday morning.

Prices are a bit more than Oxnard prices but I do think it's great to support local especially seeing the quality difference between local vendors and grocery stores. $13 for eggs still seems a bit steep for recovering from the egg hiked prices where they are now back to $6-7 in grocery stores. There was a vendor that sells sourdough breads and she was quite popular has she always had a line. Caroline's preservative jams are amazing in flavor and quality. I also appreciated that Centri Coffee was there so that I could buy some whole beans.

They're all amazing. Loads of spiritual books, beautiful effortless pieces of clothing. Beautiful hand made pieces from all over Asia. There were some artwork on the wall but the main attraction was the massive red door leaning against one wall. Not sure if it's for sale but it was incredible. There some pieces of furniture on display as well but that could just be for show. The store has a nice calm feel when you walk in and browse through. Beautiful items on displays throughout the store.

Household goods, clothing, boots, tools, etc. Most of it new, but some used. Around the perimeter there are food items--more like a farmers' market. A huge array of beautiful fruits, veggies, and flowers. Also vendors who sell dried foods like beans, rice, and dried chiles. We went during COVID and everyone was masked. It gets a little hot, so early is probably better than later.

Skip the farmers market and come here!

It may (or may not) be here in any given Sunday. Sellers pay $25 to get in (unless selling produce; they pay more) and start their day when gates open to them at 5 a.m. for setup. Pickers arrive super early to try to snag deals for resale online or elsewhere in the market. Watch out for those trying to strike bargains that really can be a disservice to sellers. Know your worth unless you really don't care and just want to clean out your overstock. Buyers pay a buck to walk in. Great deal! As a seller, this place is kind of a drag because most buyers really don't want to pay anywhere near what your stuff is worth. If you need to make some money and have the time and access, sell through Craigslist or other service. That's what your buyers here will do with the stuff you sold them too cheaply.

The old man who, along with his wife who recently passed away, have owned the store for 45 years. I could have talked to him all day. He is such an interesting and travel, older man! If you're in downtown Ojai and you have any kids you can buy a toy for you must go to serendipity ! most of the toys are reasonably priced, but very high quality made. These are not toys that children play with for a day and throw away, they are sturdy and keeper toys, I wouldn't be surprised if your children would hand them down to a sibling or a friend when they out grow them!

I wasn't planning to buy anything, but I found a dish of cool rings fashioned from vintage spoons, made by a woman in Ojai. One of them fit just right, and I liked that it was one of a kind. My husband bought it for me for the reasonable price of $37. I gather Tala offers interior design services, and the shop serves as a showroom as well as a retail store. I wasn't looking for that, but the place was certainly good advertising for design work. Check it out if you're walking around downtown Ojai. You might even find something to take home.
