From day one, it has been evident that the caregivers see her not merely as a resident but as a beloved member of their extended family. They make a concerted effort to cater to her emotional and physical needs, ensuring that every day is filled with joy and dignity. A beautiful highlight of her time here was being named the Valentine Queen of 2026. This thoughtful gesture not only made her feel special but also showcased the genuine love and care that permeates this facility. I can't thank God enough for blessing us with such a wonderful place, overflowing with grace and compassion. This building may be a bit older, but it is very clean. Everyone here is super nice and helpful. I am so sad that it only a short term care facility, as I would love be to keep my mother here long term as my mother seems happier and healthier. If you are looking for a caring facility for your parent/parents, I highly recommend Vista Real Post Acute.

Save yourself a whole lot of money and wasted time and do NOT send your loved one here. I went…read morethere willingly from 2/21/2022 - 3/16/2022 then left AMA upon realizing how absolutely disgusting the patients were treated. During my stay, I witnessed numerous patients seize out and hit the floor. One patient had SIX seizures before the ambulance arrived. One BHT sat in the living room and watched him seize out (doing nothing) while the other BHT left him, alone, to seize out so he could run next door for the incompetent nurse who didn't make sure that he wouldn't bite his tongue, didn't roll him on his side, didn't put a cold washcloth on his forehead, all he did was put his head in his lap and watch him in horror as he continued to seize. The final straw was when one of my monitored calls with my mother (who was paying for my treatment out of pocket) was cut short unexpectedly. I was pissed off about seeing my therapist once in 2.5 weeks and told my mother I was going to go ama. As soon as the words came out of my mouth, my case manager, Lonnie, said "I'm hanging up the phone now." I said "You're kidding right? I'm in the middle of speaking to my mother." He said, "oh no, I'm not kidding" and hung up the phone while she was mid sentence then kicked me out of his office. So unbelievably not okay. My mother wrote him an email about how not okay it was and her emails are now saying "not delivered". How curious. Management cuts costs in every way that they can. They got rid of our "hot lunch". Now, 7 days a week, for lunch we receive a sandwich and a side salad. We get eggs, hash browns, and either sausage or bacon for breakfast every morning. They also got rid of making us snacks. Now it's just chips. Admissions will brag about their "luxurious accommodations" and tell you to bring a swimsuit. The pool water is tinted brown and has literally never been cleaned. If you bring a swimsuit it will only gather dust. If your loved one is seeking detox, I wish them the best of luck. This place is NOT safe. Their landscaping consists of huge cacti that someone could easily fall on (hello you have a bunch of drug addicts who are detoxing, who designed this hell hole?) and poke an eye out. I had to raise hell for a WEEK before we were given a friggen shower curtain for our shower in a room that four women shared. I was walked in on while showering and the woman complimented my "nice toned body" (incredibly uncomfortable). I had asked for a shower curtain before and after this incident and was ignored by staff. Patients are severely under medicated. One guy that I be-friended was detoxing from meth and given zero (0) detox meds. Only tylenol for the huge open sores all over his body. There is ZERO curriculum that is taught in this place. One guy, Rudy, "teaches" patients "how to stay sober" by talking about how many plates he can lift in the gym for entire class periods ALL DAY LONG. I wish I was kidding. If you choose to go here and realize how much of a horror story this place is and go AMA like I did, you have to walk down a 2 mile dirt road with all of your luggage. You are not allowed to call a Lyft or Uber prior to being kicked out of the house and onto the street in the desert in the middle of NOWHERE with zero cell reception. After you make it down the dirt road around the mountain and to the gate, it's another 5-7 mile walk into town where you'll finally get reception. They will refuse to drive you or allow you to call anyone for help or a ride. They will also refuse to give you any of your medication. I wasn't given my Effexor which can (and will) cause a seizure if stopped abruptly. I could go on with a lot of other incidents, but I'll stop here. This place doesn't care about you. They care about the paycheck. Look elsewhere. I wish I would've.

After two weeks of being at California Highlands, the facility sent my daughter to sober living. She was not ready after only two weeks. She ended up overdosing multiple times. My daughter also stated that California Highlands had alcohol sanitizer at the facility and an individual overdosed on the sanitizer and almost died. My sister said he was losing unconscious multiple times but the staff "didnt notice anything was wrong". Please be careful and do your research when trying to find treatment! Thanks!
